1976_Child Posted 17 January, 2009 Share Posted 17 January, 2009 (edited) http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11238 This is a timid, and dispirited response to the game. JP is obviously utterly fed up. Two quotes stand out: "I can understand the anger of the fans and it is normal," he said. "You only have support when you win games. Bull sh!t. I come and support my club through thick and thin. SFC has always had good support, regardless of whether we are winning or not. "it is a big, big defeat and it has hit us hard. The boys did what they had to, but the only thing they didn't do and haven't done in the past make goals." Well done for recognizing this!!! Gold star to you! The whole frickin point of a football match is to "make goals". Our lot aren't. Therefore the boys did NOT do what they had to do!!!!!! Am I being too simplistic? I mean, the aim of the football game is to 'make [score] goals' is it not????? Come on, FFS wake up Jan. Sort your 'boys' out. Get them to make a few goals... SW11_Saint Posted 17 January, 2009 Share Posted 17 January, 2009 (edited) I thought exactly the same thing. I read it twice and couldn't believe the lack of fight, and, more worrying, the patent lack of a clue what to do to turn things around (other than just hope things get better and we 'make a goal'). A nice guy, with best intentions, but hopelessly out of his depth. His language lacks spirit and motivation (mirrored in the team). While pretty much every other club around us has now changed manager with a positive result (bar Charlton who seem to have "done a Wigley"), Lowe continues to fiddle while SMS burns. We have an impotent, clueless boardroom leading a hopelessly floundering coaching setup directing a bunch of talented yet dispirited, disorganised unmotivated kids. A "masterplan" indeed... Belgiansaint Posted 17 January, 2009 Share Posted 17 January, 2009 Though he seems to be a genuinely likeable man, I fear for him his time is up.
St Marco Posted 17 January, 2009 Share Posted 17 January, 2009 Yeah i was pretty angry when i read that bit. It was like he was saying were glory hunters or something....I'm sure those i go to the games with will agree with me that winning is important but were so used to losing that even when losing we still support the team. Was pretty crazy that he said that, maybe it was him having a bit of a dig at those who chanted for him to **** off?
Mr X Posted 18 January, 2009 Share Posted 18 January, 2009 Though he seems to be a genuinely likeable man, I fear for him his time is up. but poorvliet has by far the safest job in the division no way Lowe will axe him
