CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 What a shambles this club is : http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4056908.Chairman_the_targ What with this nonsense and the Dave Armstrong story it seems the stewards have decided to join in with everyone else at St Mary's and totally lose the plot
lordswoodsaints Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 as i reported a few weeks ago,the echo have upset people at sms about the wotton thing.it has been simmering for some time, although i dont think this incident is connected to saturdays ejection.....saturday was just a case of a power hungry steward imo. VectisSaint Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 Excellent. If the Echo have been upset more chance of them turning against Lowe more than they have so far. I expect the jobsworth steward will be looking for a new job soon (don't wish that on anyone) once Lowe finds out that he has upset the Echo. Mole Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 Even the Daily Echo was told to leave the paved area outside the Itchen Stand by stewards, for being on “private property” Let's hope the Echo finally starts representing their readers now that they have witnessed first hand the feeling of their readers and the contemptuous way supporters are treated by the club under Lowe. OldNick Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 I think after reading the article it was not quite being ejected from the ground, the reporter was moved on as the stewards obviously had been told to clear the area. Saying all that the club have got to listen now as the fanbase is losing its patience and if RL does not act and at thevery least removes Jan it will get considerably worse.Fans like myself who have supported the financial restraints ewill not sit and support negligence by leaving the ship to drift. GET HIM GONE today RL.

lambtiss Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 These days I would have thought the stewards would be under instructions to throw people in rather than out.

PhilB Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 Why was David Armstrong ejected from one of the suites? What a bloody disgrace.
offix Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 Wait for the apologists to say; "They were not ejected, they were asked to leave". We've already seen that ridiculous response from some posters on the David Armstrong thread.

We've already seen that ridiculous response from some posters on the David Armstrong thread. Were you there? i wasnt and on DA's words i think the club were stupid, the other side of the story may be quite different.Until you hear both sides how can you really make a clear judgement.I cant understand the club doing something like that knowing full well he is in the media without good reason. There again i do rememeber keegan thrown out of the car park when we were a friendly club. St. Jason Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 Wait for the apologists to say; "They were not ejected, they were asked to leave". We've already seen that ridiculous response from some posters on the David Armstrong thread. The version of the story i heard was this, 2 fans invaded the pitch and were rightly apprehended by the stewards. By all accounts the number of stewards that got involved became excessive, 18. David made a comment about how "tough" the stewards were, 18 on to 2 "big men"! when he went into corporate a steward that heard his comments on the radio asked him to leave, he said he couldn't eject him but again asked him to leave! Thats what i've heard anyway!!!
pilsburydoughboy Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 I was asked to leave on Saturday after i told Jan how ****ed off i am with his world cup claims and total lack of footballing tactics. The stewards would not let me sit in the dugout.I could not understand it.
Greenridge Posted 19 January, 2009 Share Posted 19 January, 2009 In general the lack of communication coming from either Wilde or Lowe in recent weeks has been deafening. I appreciate they are damned if they speak and damned if they don't but at this most critical moment in Southampton's history you'd think they would want to keep the fanbase informed of things. Yes we had the farce of the AGM but very little since then. Watching South Today tonight with their coverage of the events of the weekend they stated that they'd asked Lowe, Wilde and Portvleit for an interview and all declined / not available. They also stated no official from the club was prepared to issue a comment / statement. SFC are just asking for more trouble if they're not going to have the media on their side.
