Agree, would go if local,  problem is Sholing's ground isn't the easiest place to get to especially if you want a few beers without driving , absolute legend - Southampton's Goal Machine 👏

Can't watch it as i'm currently at work but if he's promoting non-league football, I can't echo that enough. Last 5 years or so i've gone to watch my partners team Dorchester and it's been much more enjoyable than it ever is going to watch Saints now. Reasonable prices, everyone knows each other, pints on the terraces, players in the bar after the game, it's great.

It's only about a mile walk from Sholing train station so maybe that's an option?
