Where are the leaders?

This is the most pathetic squad of players I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching in all my years watching this club. 
 

Not a single player deserves to wear the armband, and I include Scienza in that, he obviously cares and is passionate but even he doesn’t hold anybody else to account out there on the pitch. 
 

THB, Downes, Armstrong and Stephens should all be the ones out there organising things on the pitch, communicating and at the very least leading by example but they are meek little pricks plodding along taking a wage. 
 

Romeu perhaps could have been that person but realistically he might as well join the coaching staff already, he is finished. 
 

Couple that with a manager who is young and inexperienced it’s a recipe for disaster.

Next weekend will be fun with this pathetic bunch of losers representing our club against our fierce rivals - complete with a total rabbit in the headlights little boy as manager who’s been brought up on a stats and data approach to coaching. Can’t wait

This has been my biggest gripe with our recruitment for the last 3 seasons. You look right through our squad and look to see where the leaders are, the players that the younger ones will instantly look up to and listen to....there are none on the pitch, none at all. All we have are a bunch of molly coddled, spineless, pathetic wankers not fit to wear the red and white. To a man they are without doubt the most useless pathetic bunch i have ever seen wear the colours.

Something is seriously wrong with our owners if they cannot see the bloody obvious staring them in the face.

We are weak throughout and that includes the manager who just quotes bloody stats which mean bloody nothing if you keep losing games.

Just fuck off Sports Republic you useless twats!

We got a glimpse of how bad it’s going to be in September. None of them turned up that day and it was at home ffs.

Yesterday Peretz (who has been at the club a fortnight) was constantly geeing up and berating the ‘defence’. He was met with blank stares and dropped heads, or players just turning their backs on him. The three worst culprits are Wood, Downes and Manning, who clearly don’t want to play for us - literally three limited players just going through the motions. When Scienza was hacked down by a horrible professional foul yesterday, we were breaking after a Hull penalty appeal was waved away, it looked like a very serious injury. None of them got involved, with the ref or the Hull players that were niggling and shithousing all game. When Peter Pan gets the sack after the window closes, if we get a real manager in, he needs to level this group of zombies, even if it means playing committed players from the youth teams.

Martin’s trio from Swansea. Loathe all three of them. Wood joins Bazunu in my worst ever XI from both the Championship and PL, I think Manning is making a very strong case to be in it as well. Need to loan in a CB, DML and put Wood and Manning in the bomb squad.

There is no leadership in this team, and there hasn't been for many, many years. It's now under the spotlight even more due to the need for the club to have leaders given the situation we've been in for 2 years.

Jack Stephens isn't a leader, I think we can all put that one in the bin. He got given club captain by default because he's a nice guy, but he can't lead. It's not in his makeup. Ditto Armstrong, ditto Downes. The team is full of passive, reactive players who 'wait' for someone else to take responsibility. We don't have anyone taking responsibility on the pitch, maybe Leo, but he's even been bogged down by this now.

So, what do you need to do when you have such a quiet and meek team, with no leaders? Well, 1 - you buy leaders and 2 - you ensure the management and coaching staff around those players is experienced with a genuine football background who acts as a 'leader' for the group. We have done neither.

We've got no leadership on the pitch and no leadership off of it. It's absolutely no wonder why we are where we are right now. 

SR have well and truly ripped this clubs heart out and dumped it in the Itchen. IF they do leave, make no mistake - this will take many years to repair and we have some darker days ahead, as the entire club needs a full restructure at every single level. The damage they've done means there's no quick fix for us, sadly.

I don’t think we’ve had a real leader on the pitch since Fonte (although VVD was shaping up quite well before he pissed off)
