Saints u21 v Juventus u21 - Tuesday 20th October - 7pm

[Football Special]

Thought this match deserved its own thread with a good crowd of around 7,000 expected at St Mary's for the game.

Chance to see some of the young lads who have been doing well and scoring regularly

Can play a couple of older players if the club want to, perhaps Ramsdale will get a run out

Juve could have next gen Baggio or Pirlo playing for them

Should be a great game. Went to the U21s game when Bazunu scored in added time and had good crowd. But I'm going to Stoneham v Winchester City local derby.

Any chance it will be rained off?

Not at St Mary's after the opposition have travelled from Turin

Looks dry enough when game is on this evening

Yeah, shame about the weather…when this kicks off tonight it will be 10 years to the day 7,000 of us when in the opposite direction to the San Siro…

Only been one game called off for rain, think it was v Chelsea.  Don't forget the groundsman will water the pitch before KO anyway.

Aston Daley looks a player

Some quick feet, fast interplay and nice touches by our boys. Promising

A wonder goal to equalise.

Defenders backed off and 22 yard strike towards top right corner.

[saintant]

Enjoyed that and we were by far the better side with Juventus only able to lump long balls other than their one wonder strike for their goal. Lallana has the side well drilled and we were very neat and tidy on the ball. From what I saw we deserved to win and gave them plenty of problems. Sometimes the final ball wasn't quite there but some good individual performances especially the big unit at centre back who looked class.

Anyone have details of our starting line up? I wasn't sure who was who and it didn't help that the stream was in Italian 🙂

Was he the number 9?

[Tommy Mulgrew]

Just like watching our first team, with Daley doing a good impression of JWP.  All of them did well.  Completely dominant but able to score only once.

Some decent players in that side, was impressed with Little when he came on for last 10 mins, constantly involved. Attendance announced as 7767 , lots of youngsters there enjoying live football experience, good to see
