A new manager could, just could turn things around. 14 games left, we can get out of this mess!! Just not with Wotte.....

Benj540 Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 Well two failing managers, makes you think it possibly has something to do with the squad aswell are they just not good enough? We need some investment to get in some experienced players. Fair enough it doesn't help having managers who know naff all about the championship, or anything for that matter. SFC Forever Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 People keep saying don't do this don't do that because it will hurt the club. Whoever they are, they are fools. Our club is slowly and surely dying before our very eyes yet the majority remain as lifeless as ever. If nothing is done to remove the virus affecting the club we are heading for a slow painful exit. It is about time we stood as one and forced the virus out with the strongest medicine available to us. We should try to get as many of the absent supporters to attend as is possible to show what the club is missing. Then as soon as the referee blows to start the game we have a mass pitch invasion. The game will be stopped and with enough of us doing it the result will mean the postponement of the game. Or at the least a truly important statement by us telling the club to act or face an even worse scenario. We would all sit facing the director's box and show them we are at last united. Then we would also hand a message to all who run the club that if they do nothing a total boycott would follow for at least two games. Time is tight and something has to be done to give this club a fighting chance. I am prepared for relegation although praying for salvation from somewhere. We need to rid ourselves of the noose around our club's neck. I am not a fool but along with a few others from the 50's saw this club rise from Div 3 to it's recent past. Unless something is done quickly my children will not be able to say the same. Instead when asked who they support they will not be able to say SOUTHAMPTON FOOTBALL CLUB because it will not be here. I AM A LOWE DETESTER BUT WOULD BE PREPARED TO LISTEN TO HIS ALTERNATIVES IF HE HAD SOME. WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO LISTEN TO ALL AND DIGEST ALL THAT IS SAID. EVEN THOUGH WE ALL KNOW THAT THE END RESULT WILL BE THE SAME, WE HAVE TO LET HIM HANG HIMSELF.

sidthesquid Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 SFC FOREVER: WE HAVE TO LET HIM HANG HIMSELF. Actually, that is probably the only sane & sensible comment in your rant Nothing is going to force Lowe out at present, because what happens then? He and Wilde clearly control (or are controlled by?) the majority of shareholders. Do they sell their shares for b*gger all? Unlikely Do they let arch-enemy Crouch get control for free? Unlikely Do we just drift into administration? Also unlikely, though possible Is there a White Knight, gagging to invest? Highly unlikely If we are relegated, admin looks inevitable which will solve the problem, though God knows what will happen then If we stay up it is just conceivable that we might be attractive to a buyer & it is just conceivable that Lowe & co can finally see the writing on the wall Nothing that fans do now will force them out because they haven't got anything to gain from it. They know they may as well sit it out. If we are either safe (ha ha) or relegated by the last home game, I agree that that is the time to protest. Surely as supporters of our club, regardless of who is chairman, we should support our pretty cr*p team in the meantime and hope we avoid relegation

We are going down so whether we have 30 points or 0 points makes no difference.
SFC Forever Posted 15 February, 2009 Share Posted 15 February, 2009 The problem here is that as long as the majority keep saying that they won't do anything to hurt the team, they are doing just that. Less fans are going to the games and ST holders all over the place are saying that they won't renew their tickets. Less fans equals less turnover. The only difference, being a slower drawn out death. If fans think doing a pitch invasion/sit-in before or during the match is to drastic one can always do it afterwards. Only problem is that the effect would be a lot less effective unless it was a really long drawn out sit-in. During the Branfoot demos I was one of the faint hearted and I have always been grateful to those who actually did something. Whilst at the same time slightly embarressed by my proverbial silence. This time I feel the situation is far far worse than it was then. I am merely a foot soldier and not an officer directing the action. I may not have the right idea but somewhere someone has and we have to be able to get the majority involved.
