rocknrollman no2 Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 Im not knocking the collection, but where is the money going to go? If its just going to the administrator so he can give it straight back to the bank, then it seems a waste of time. Also im not putting a penny in if its going to help pay the inflated wages of those overpayed, underperforming dross we call a team. I would feel a lot better if i knew that it was going to pay the wages of the people who run the club.

But I've lost count of the number of times I've stated the bloody obvious. Firstly, the administrator is responsible for SLH only, yes I do know that they own all the shares in SFC. He cannot have any visible administrative connection with SFC otherwise he would give the league all that they needed to penalise us. SFC is run by the staff/ David Jones/Kevin Toynton. The administrator liases with them. Any money collected goes through the ticket office or David Jones into SFC which is solvent at present and not in administration. The collections and fundraising is to try and raise enough funds to ensure that the club keeps going and doesn't fall into administration as well. There is no collection for the public company in administration.

alpine_saint Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 I wouldnt either. Couldnt look little kids and old dears in the eye, them thinking they are helping the club, when all they are doing is using scarcely-affordable hard-earned to pay Begbie Taylor. And that "£1000 or more" donation list on the OS is a disgrace for its absences. As in, almost everyone (old players, current players, old management, current management).. At least it gives Illingsworth his latest media opportunity
NickG Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 can't help thinking that if we get bought it will make no difference, nor will it if we don't!

How can you be sure it isn't going up to SLH? Admirable efforts etc... but I doubt this will make any difference, what with a bucket collection probably not being hugely appropriate for any business £30m in debt. Barclays will no doubt be grateful though.
SFC Forever Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 The money is for the club not SLH. SLH is in debt not the club. I'm slow but even I can understand that.

Derry the might of the football league can't distinguish the difference without employing forensic accountants so a big ask for the ordinary fan to accept the club is fully ring fenced. SLH had no other revenue streams so is the debt just being ramped up paying Fry's fees, debit interest etc? I've got about 100 Tescos vouchers for schools and clubs if that'll help? Rattlehead Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 @SFC Forever: You not heard of inter company cross guarantees then? It is quite usual for corporate groups where debt is in a holding company and the revenue generating business is a subsidiary. If Barclays don't have this in place, I will eat my garage. This is the issue.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 The money is for the club not SLH. SLH is in debt not the club. I'm slow but even I can understand that. The club would have been funded by the Holding Company and any profits from the club rolled back up to the holding company. Would this be a correct assumption and if so does that relationship stop because the holding company has gone bust?

Rattlehead Posted 13 April, 2009 Share Posted 13 April, 2009 Try this http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/index.php?page_id=11638 Thanks. 7 parties? Impressive. What happened to the £900k or whatever it was pledged/practically guaranteed on the other thread? Where's that money then? Maybe those who promised funds weren't telling the truth (unforgivable on a website of course) or realised the money goes straight to Barclays who will put the club into admin anyway. Who knows? I suspect the former.

Rattlehead Posted 13 April, 2009 Share Posted 13 April, 2009 Methinks you're getting the two initiatives confused. I thought Derry and MarkSFC (was it him?) were joining forces and combining efforts with the Save Our Saints faction? It's like the Life Of Brian here - "are you the Save Our Saints Front?" " F*ck off, we're the Front Saving Our Saints". I dunno, you may well be right.
