derry Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 How many times have you heard, 'They threw everything at them but the kitchen sink' Well, metaphorically speaking its time to pick a last chance saloon team and throw everything including the kitchen sink at our last four games. Bugger draws and defeats, go for broke. We are going down anyway, so what is there to lose. Well here's what I've got in mind. As few lightweights as possible for a start. A half decent back four, and a bit of bite in midfield and up front. Keep the ball on the deck. Forget the bloody diamond, get the ball wide and down the touchlines, nothing up the middle. Throw ins: down the line forcing defenders to concede more, work the ball into the corner and try and win corners Saeijs takes all the free kicks and penalty if we get one. Euell runs interference on Saeijs at corners and non shot free kicks. Keeps the marker from blocking Saeijs. --------------------Davis Wotton------Saeijs----------Perry-----Skacel Saganowski---James--------Surman------BWP ----------------Euell-----McGoldrick Subs: Forecast, Liptak, Paterson, Holmes, Smith. We are really pretty poor when it comes to looking for character.

derry Posted 12 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 12 April, 2009 not a bad line up ' date=' but i have a horrible feeling that Smith and Morgan will start[/quote'] And they will play the diamond they don't know how to play. And they will continue to hit corners and free kicks aimlessly. And they will chop and change, Adam Lightweight will run around a 10yd circle, Ryan Smith will beat his man three times and lose the ball. Euell and Saganowski or whoever will play 40yds apart and watch the ball come in from the halfway line and watch it going out again. Schneiderlin will hit super crossfield balls going nowhere and stroll around like a powderpuff with legs. Left footers on the right and vice versa etc. etc.

benjii Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 The team for me. That eleven, picked regularly and coached properly would not be anywhere near the bottom three of the Championship IMO.
Window Cleaner Posted 12 April, 2009 Share Posted 12 April, 2009 The team for me. I think you all vastly overestimate Skacel's ability.Either at left back or in midfield. He can play well, we know that, apparently he usually doesn't.

Another half decent battleing side, but it won't be, it'll be the narrow diamond full of lightweight options.

You obviously have a pretty good idea about the importance of blend, you are right about the left side, the only thing about your team that concerns me is the centre midfield, plenty of guts but no passing ability. We don't have any other options, that's just the problem. Some players are paid far more than their performances merit so we can't actually employ any alternative who aren't 14 years old. I am surprised that so many of you can't see the basic problem. Our problem is 4 underperforming players who shaft the club for £40K every week, for that money we could get 8 reasonable ones and have some f*cking options. Just before they go on the pitch they should give him a good kick with the promise that unless he "dies" for the team over the next 4 matches there will be more! Paying him lots does not motivate so lets use the thread of a good kicking! Add smilely face thinging

Be a lot of clearing up to do but who cares we don't want many of them next year.

I was once told that when I walked into work, people were looking to see did I need to be given a wide berth. That's the sort of relationship they needed, I also know how to treat people well, and make them want to stay. I think the manager walking in at halftime and launching something dramatic like a tray of drinks at the wall tends to concentrate the minds wonderfully. I agree completely. That's why I would have no hesitation in making a bold sub quite early ie. half-time, if we're not in the lead and drag off one of the starting CMs. Your team of Wotton at RB with James at CM gives us better passing from the middle but I just can't imagine Wotton offering anything in terms of link up with BWP down the right.
