Downes has had a chance in the PL, and as a result got sent out on loan to the league below. He's already 25, an age where JWP was a PL regular. We're in the Championship where Adam Armstrong is banging goals in for fun once more. I think we need to remember our current level. If nothing else it does seem that Downes struggles with the consistent intensity of matches and volume of matches.

Sorry this is mental. JWP is and was for us a proven Premier League player. Right now Flynn Downes is proven to not be good enough for the Premier League, which is why WHU bombed him out to us on loan. Fuck knows why people are giving it the "grass isn't always greener" routine when he has played 49 times in the Prem and in Europe this season.

Do you ever post anything that's not utterly moronic? The very nature of shoot outs is that the penalties unquestionably go down to players who wouldn't normally take them. If we aren't practising with the whole squad then that will be negligence on Martin's part. We finished 12 points above them and we've beaten them twice. We have more than "a chance", we are deserved favourites. We just have to actually do the business.

Always a stupid way of looking at it. 88 is not enough in those seasons because there's a team there on 90 points, 93, 89, 92 whatever. 88 means third in all those seasons. What is the rationale to conveniently remove the team in second and replace them with a team on fewer points? Remove the team in third with a team on 88 points and what do you know, still third. Because another team is on 90 points. A team needs to get what the team in the position you are aiming for gets, not aim for a smidge more than the team one place below got.

So at season end, only two teams achieved two points per game and those two are the two that are automatically promoted. Two points a game. Simple.

I think we only need four more to be absolutely sure of a point.

I think sensible to play basically our strongest 11. We need to play into some form ahead of the play offs. Madness to just not play people thinking they might get injured. They need to be match fit, not just in storage. Next game over a week away anyway. Would be lovely to see Stewart on the pitch.
