  1. Gotta be, surely? Out of curiosity, do we know if this is because he's not taken (m)any or if he's taken plenty but lost his touch...?
  2. You can get a degree in "Sports Psychology"....? Is that the 21st century equivalent of "Media Studies"...?
  3. Ha... yeah, perhaps not one of my best "seeing the opposite point of view" attempts.... 😂
  4. Or.... If the players are big fans of Russ, rumours of a replacement manager could actually work in our favour as it'll galvanise them to put in good performances to try and convince the hierarchy to keep him....? #twosidestoeverystory

    Flynn Downes

My only concern with Downes is that he's had a few "slight knocks" that turn out to be longer term injuries. Just makes me ponder if there's an underlying issue there somewhere, or if it's just a case of him being a tad unlucky this season. If we do sign him then the next thing we need to do is make sure we've got a better back up option available than we had this season....
  6. I think I preferred the 'sanctimonious but had a valid underlying point' version of gio1saints. Not so keen on this 'talking gibberish' incarnation...

  8. Yeah, great moment. Also good to see Jak Jones making a game of it after going 7-1 down in the first session.
  9. If they do get promoted to the PL, I wonder if they'll try and compete legitimately rather than follow in the footsteps of the cheating football club that used to play at Fratton Park before them?
  10. There was nothing "wrong" with advocating a different approach. Yes, the game panned out well with the 'play a strong 11' option, but it's non-sequitur territory to then intimate that it couldn't have equally turned out ok with the 'rest our key players' approach. Humans often seem obsessed with labelling predictions and/or opinions as "right" or "wrong", usually with the benefit of hindsight. Those advocating a different approach were simply that.... Different.... They weren't "wrong"...
  11. Yep, agree.... Yesterday's win was somewhat bittersweet in a way. Whilst setting us up nicely for the playoffs it also served as a reminder of what could've been this season. Anyway, now's not the time for an end of season postmortem... Let's save that for the promotion party....
  12. Not seen much of that kind of rhetoric to be honest. Yes, Leeds certainly weren't at their best but had they been then I feel we would've still got something out of the game. A very timely decent performance from us.
  13. Whilst some of it is undoubtedly 'staged' most of it has a feeling of authenticity about it. Recommended even if you're not a Clarkson fan. (Watch the first 2 series first though)
  14. Love him or hate him (the majority of the self-appointed Saintsweb intelligentsia being in latter category I would imagine ), Clarkson's Farm is a televisual masterpiece in my humble opinion. Just finished watching the first 4 episodes of the new series. A grown man? Struggling to holding back tears? Yep, that's me during episode 4.... guilty as charged, m'lud 🐖🐷🚜🥹
