  1. Done, could have been us, might be one day still.
  2. Some of the German stadia are quite sophisticated with removable seating to reveal terracing for league matches, Champions league matches must be at all seater stadia whereas German league matches can have standing areas. Incidently if 5000 seat were removed and replaced with terracing I guess that would enable maybe 10000 standing customers instead, giving 5000 increase in capacity abd increased revenue for minimal outlay. If we had 10000 that wanted to stand regularly it would be ideal, would improve the atmosphere as well.
  3. As it happens sour mash this law. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1989/37/contents and no Appy, if it was successful I would expect to see a few less people in the Northam and Kindsland!! Those that remain will presumably learn to sit down. It would be really easy to just cancel your electronic tickets and not allow entry to the stadium, they wouldn't need to tape your seats up. Don't have a go at me, I spent most of my teenage saturday afternoons stood on the Milton and Archers road terraces and had a great time, i personally would support safe standing areas in our modern stadiums for those who want it. Just saying how easy it would be stop people standing the whole game.
  4. As it's the law that we must sit in our seats at PL matches, I would imagine other clubs, police forces and safety authorities will be watching Sunderland's experiment. If it's successful I can see other clubs following suit or even being forced to follow.
  5. Who remembers the jazz band that used to play at The Dell, must be late 70's early 80's. Brought back a few memories.
  6. Don't hold back saintmatt, tell it how you see it:lol:
  7. If I'm lucky enough to get a ticket I'm going. I'll travel the 11 miles from my house in Wickham to St Marys, get on a 22 mile coach trip to fratton waving at my wife as I go past my house, watch my team at fratton which is only 12 miles from home and then do it all again in reverse order. Can't wait it'll be great.
  8. Yes I thought the fixtures looked tough for October, pleased and surprised to still be top, happy days
  9. I don't subscribe, can you tell me what he says. However is to blame, whether it be D'Urso, CAFC, the groundsman, FL for not having a decent policy, doesn't really matter who, it's 2010 FFS not the dark ages sort it out!!
  10. Does anyone know if this is the same injury that has re-occured or a new injury, could be that he has just suffered bad luck with 2 serious injuries, seems a bit harsh to write him off without knowing the problem.
  11. Yes happy days, remember loads of youngsters sat around the edge of the pitch as if that little gravel track wasn't narrow enough, and Peter Osgood snatching a balloon off one of them and taking a throw in. Great days as I hope our future is, lets hope todays big happy occasion captures another generation of fans to follow the Saints for years to come. Too many seasons of disappointment have been endured so lets try and raise the atmosphere and crowds at ALL future games. COYR
  12. No you ***** I don't love you or football violence and after what "Saints fans" did to a couple of old blokes (see below) I'm surprised you even like yourself. You're not hard , you're not tough, you're just an embarrasing nuisance to decent football fans. I strongly suspect your mummy didn't give you enough cuddles you clueless ****. ""Pompey fan Keith Strevett, 77, of South Road, Horndean, suffered a head injury after being hit by a rock thrown by opposing fans in Britannia Road. And fellow fan Robert Graeney, 51, of Kimberley Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, suffered a cut about one in long below his left eye after being hit by flying debris""

    Trouble?

Well said Wade. Can't help noticing that the St.Mary's crowd is liberally populated with old ladies handing out boiled sweets to all around them. Lots of children and families too. We're a family based club FFS, always have been and always will be, some of our "hard" members will always stand out as looking pretty tough compared to all the purple rinses that frequent the stadium, get over yourselves you knobs you're an embarrassment to decent football fans. Rivalry is great, it's right and proper and adds spice to our football fixtures. Hooliganism and fighting should be consigned to the history books along with the luddites that think it's good, most of you are too young to remember the really bad old days and judging by the state of some of the ones I've seen they won't last long when the going gets tough. If you like fighting and you're brave enough join a boxing club. Leave St.Mary's to the football fans.
  14. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to sing "Knees up Mother Brown" directly after a rendition of "You're going home in a Hampshire ambulance" and before a chorus of "Six foot two, eyes are blue, Jimmy Steele is after you" Wind your neck in and enjoy yourselves, if it's a laugh and adds atmosphere then why worry?
  15. I agree it's still possible but in my book unlikely so lets not be too harsh on the management
