  1. What do you think happens when we write off a promotion challenge? Same thing that happened when we sacked Martin in December and wrote off the rest of the season….games will still be played and for us to write off a promotion challenge that means lots of games will be lost. Grace period lasts as long as people stop enjoying turning up to games and not winning them. This season how many was that for Juric? Next season it will be less. You do not just write off a season and everyone sits quietly watching us finish mid table. Russell Martin had a bad month a couple of seasons ago and people hated it and some of that shit stuck. Same will happen next season.
  2. Aaah, okay. Yeah, can see what you mean. Not convinced it's not just a 2nd language thing as he's pretty adament before "we need to be better" but yeah one for people to judge for themselves I think and then inevitable he'll go anyway. Southampton FC - Mateus Fernandes: 'I miss the feeling of victory' - BBC Sounds
  3. Interview I heard on Solent he was talking about hoping to win more games with us next season. Not that I'm expecting him to be here next season but it was far from confirming he wouldn't be around. What interview did you hear?
  4. We've had the same amount of successful tackles after 55 minutes against Everton that we did the whole of last week. The only difference is the opposition on the day. We are set up exactly the same, same intention, same ambition, same plan, whatever way you want to put it, we are not doing anything different other than conceding. If you wish to believe City hit the bar, or missed big golden chances because of our effort then good for you, but it's not true.
  5. He's helped at least two sides out of relegation trouble in fairness to him from the little I know so not sure about that. Nothing that necessarily relates to the position we'll be in next season though, agreed.
  6. The only thing that is different is the other team have scored. If that had happened in 2 or 3 of the 26 shots we gave up last week people would have questioned the effort then too.
  7. We're an absolute shadow of the team Martin left us. For both good and bad reasons.
  8. Not playing any different to last weeks "proper performance" btw.
  9. I actually think you either walk in on your first day as a commanding man or you don't and previous experience wouldn't help with that. But fair enough, different opinions. I have concerns over Still, mainly stemming from his Reims team being an utter bore fest to watch a couple of years back and his MNF appearance being a bit too convenient and odd for me but even with a lack of experience, like you, I'm fully willing to embrace him and give him a chance.
  10. It's not a manager attribute is my argument.
  11. Okay, but does "nice to have" really "improve your odds" and if so..how?
  12. I've said before on here but Farke aside their isn't many recent managers who have won the Championship who had experience of it prior. There are also plenty of experienced managers who don't get promoted each year. It's not an indicator of future performance.
  13. I’d probably have a quick edit of what you were saying Monday and Tuesday before you brag about being ITK if I were you.
  14. Totally agree with this. I’ve no issues with Still and think he’s clearly done good work but a polished, rehearsed and lapped up presentation on MNF is easy work. Should be more of it from managers and then we’d be able to compare it to something but people are just impressed with it because it’s rare not necessarily quality detail. There is some people in France who think he’s a bit cringe, I’d be more intrigued to hear from them.
  15. Wouldn't mind a bit more on this FF...
  16. Nobody is denying those facts but if you’re going to go on a podcast and mock/call out specific managers and their ways of working you probably want to make sure you’ve got a better record than 3 played but 3 defeats against those managers tbh.
  17. I don’t disagree with your sentiment necessarily but I’m intrigued to fast forward a year and see if you’re okay with a ‘stats guy’ leading a promotion charge but failing like you say you would be Cooper.
  18. Or maybe not getting beat twice by a manager who refused to adapt.
  19. It's not unreasonable to think that. It is unreasonable to state it as fact when you don't know though.
  20. Okay so you cant name the figures. That's okay. No biggie, just a lesson learnt for next time. Focus on the nuances of the post rather than things you cant back up xxx
  21. Name the figures.
  22. Thank for the information dump. If you're going to ignore the post where I explained why the idea of Lampard leaving Coventry for us is not going to happen, then I'll just ask you to name the figures for this part...
  23. Salary and resources maybe but the guy has only just taken the Coventry job, which he got through the help of family connections, the same family which isn’t popular here. Considering the position they were in when he took the job I doubt very much anyone thought ‘we either go up or I walk out’ so I suspect he’s had his eye on next season at least the whole time and even more so they’ve run really close this time around. Feel good factor, status and trust, plans already in place. Think they all trump an extra few quid especially as he’d presumably burn a lot of bridges and his reputation a bit if he walked out now. It’s not like he’s at Sheffield Wednesday where they’ve hit their ceiling either.
  24. Before even getting into whether he’d be good, I’m amazed anyone thinks Lampard would walk out on Coventry for us at this point.
  25. Except, it clearly does need explaining because the question was asked about 10 points and the example given was a club that didn't get 10 points and if they had done so they would have been relegated. That's even before the example given signed Chris Wood for less than we did for Onuachu and so the idea that more money = better players once again doesn't stand up without some fundamental recruitment standards that we could implement without costing us any points, let alone an imaginary made up 10 point figure that will likely be even more if we're found to be planning to break the rules 2 years in advance.
