Yes, that's why I said its frustrating not to be there but it's not the crisis some people on here seem to think it is.
-
I was Stephen's biggest critic in the summer and was perplexed we'd given someone who had consistently shown himself to not be good enough a place in the squad let alone the captaincy, but it's quite obvious he's not the problem ffs
-
People would do well to remember this. We're having a perfectly good season but there is 3 teams better than us at the moment having insanely good seasons. It's frustrating we're not doing that as well but we're still well on course for a 3 game shoot out at the end with one of them, which again, is perfectly reasonable considering we were below two of those teams last year and probably had more squad disruption that both. This is correct. Stephens really is not the problem on his own. This is insane. It's been written on here for years despite having had 4 different managers, at least 3 different ways of playing and trying every combination possible. Maybe the core players we're still relying on that have seen us gradually decline to a Championship side might be the issue rather than people trying to be clever.

Win against West Brom in the middle of those weren't there? With Stephens shoe horned in at left back from memory producing a MOM display.
-
I’ll give credit to Ralph for getting Stephen’s and Bednarek out and criticise Martin for his loyalty to them fwiw. Anyway, you lot are insane. Some of you need to enjoy it more, it’s actually quite fun when you’re not desperate to be outraged by the manager. Let it play out and waste your summer being angry about it if we don’t get promoted.

With the squad we have we should be nailed on for automatic promotion - Not true. Although most other seasons we would be, you’d do well to remember both Leeds and Leicester finished above us last year and probably had less disruption to their squads. Pretty sure they’d want their squad over ours so nope, we shouldn’t be nailed on for automatic promotion at all, but do have a ridiculous amount of points compared to most teams in most seasons. Martin is the problem - though he’s sufficiently arrogant that he will never admit that in a million years - he’s blamed himself for various things over the season so again, not true. Every time we get on top by pressing forward we fail to push home the advantage by reverting to tippy tappy Russball. - We’ve won 22 games this season so again, literally not true we fail to push home advantages every time. Good post though.

I’ve no idea what the reasons are for dropping KWP. Maybe it’s not wanting him to be exposed to Moore at the back post, maybe they had a fall out, maybe KWP missed out on the ‘Stephen’s has to play so who misses out roulette’ this time. I don’t justify my ‘love’ for Martin based on one decision. That’s not sane, healthy or plausible given that as fans we’ll never ever know the reason for every thing. Like I said, not every little thing has to be conclusive evidence of something.
-
Isn’t there some stat around showing our subs have scored more goals than anyone else’s in the league by quite a bit? We’ve won/drawn games late on too you know. Side note: I know online brings out the worst in people but it really is insane the pile on Martin gets on here. Feels so out of touch with most people you talk to at games. We’re miles better off the pitch and on it than we were last year, at worst we’ll have 3 games to reach our aims at the end of the season, just let it play out, not every moment of every game has to be conclusive evidence of something.

Maybe it's something else. Maybe it is criminal negligence. Who knows.
-
Or maybe he just dropped the guy who was at fault for the goal on Friday? Maybe the simple explanations are the best.
-
Also maybe Martin has his faults as does his way of playing. Maybe both are right. Maybe also he's still quite clearly doing a good job and maybe despite everything it still doesn't require a "I've known all along Martin is a prick and I will jump on every opportunity to tell you so" meltdown.
-
Maybe if you're a player and you keep conceding a lot, against 44 different teams, at 2 different levels and with 4 different managers, the problem might be you?
-
This is true, there is definitely hurdles to overcome yet before we get to that point.
-
No idea about Leeds or Leicester as I haven't watched them enough to know. I'm just looking at our defenders and seeing people who consistently don't defend the box, continue to not defend the box. Nope, that's not what I said is it?
-
Yeah, why not? Not sure I'd fancy Leicester or Leeds and at least Ipswich are wide open just like us. Longer pitch, more space in behind, more experience in our team, think our best chance is to play that game again and hope we get better in both boxes than go toe to toe with one of the others tbh. They'd obviously fancy playing us too but I'm not sure how many play off finals end up being so chaotic like todays game.
-
I just think defending your box is a mentality thing. Ralph, Jones, Selles, Martin, the next guy, they can all drum it into them all week but it actually takes someone to take responsibility and do it on the pitch and I'm not sure we have enough that are willing to do it really. Doesn't matter what level they are at, doesn't matter who the opposition is, doesn't matter what "system" they are told to play they have proven they will switch off occasionally over the years. Yes, there's some new ones, yes they have other qualities and yes the new ones can be put down to Martin I suppose but it's a collective thing and I'm not sure it's there or really has been for years.
-
Would love to play them in the play off final btw.
-
Yeah. We're miles better on and off the pitch than we were before he came. So he's quite clearly done a good job. But hey, don't let simple points like that get in the way of a good pile on.
-
The personnel at the back for us has been conceding for fun for quite a few years now. Doesn't matter who the manager is. They consistently have shown themselves incapable of defending their box for years. It really isn't a manager thing.
-
To go up automatically? Can we nip this weird narrative in the bud please? We finished behind Leeds and Leicester last season, they are the two that on paper should be easily good enough to be promoted automatically. Aim and expectation is rightly to go up, we're competing to do that and will as a minimum have 3 games to do it at the end of the season. Absolutely no evidence or right that our squad is easily good enough to go up automatically.

Always feels like Adams best games come when he's got a point to prove so even though he clearly has his issues and I'd have been happy to sell him at any stage over the last few years, I'd 100% be starting him tomorrow.
-
You sound like you don't actually enjoy the football, stop engaging in it. We're in a shoot out for promotion, 9/12 games, this should be the bit you're excited about rather than laying the foundations to be able to say "I told you so" at every single opportunity you get.
-
Think anyone on day one of their football experience is probably taught that kicking the ball is good and kicking other people is bad tbf.
-
He's literally kicked the player and not the ball ffs
-
I'm not actually sure what point you're making here but for the record I've been pro selling Adams for quite a while now and got mocked on here for suggesting it last summer.
