How do you know about the above then?
-
I know it's fashionable on here to pretend that you don't enjoy seeing us dominate games, creates lots more chances than the opposition, score more goals than them and pick up more points than them in this league but I really think people should learn to embrace games in which we have 75% possession, 27 shots compared the oppositions 10, score 2 compared to their 1 and pick up 3 points compared to their 0 because that is kind of the whole point? Edit: Enjoy might not be the right word tbh. Maybe "pleased" is a better word because picking holes in that kind of performance just seems to be pre meditated or deliberately focusing on negatives. And yes, I will happily spend a whole couple of years defending a manager who delivers football results and performances.

I know...that is why I wrote it?
-
Because we didn't take our chances. And yes, fwiw, they had a high XG too and also created chances. Glad I could help.
-
Didn't really watch the Northampton game but the idea that we surrendered the midfield to Wrexham just isn't true and doesn't really stand up to any kind of scrutiny other than purely numerical. We dominated possession, created the highest XG in the whole of the EFL that weekend and had them penned on the edge of the box for the majority of the 2nd half at least. Not entirely sure how anyone thinks we surrendered it.
-
See you in the Rangers managers thread, yeah?
-
Aren’t you the guy who despises XG btw? Fwiw Saints XG was the best in the efl over the weekend so not sure ‘imagine how bad it would have been if chances were converted’ is the best argument for you to make. Wrexhams also reasonably high in comparison to most.

Some very odd takes on here. We were dominant throughout and add some creativity and crisp passes/quality/shots in the final third and it would have been a lot easier.
-
There is loads of issues with it but deliberately deciding to break the rules opens yourself up to a world of even more potential problems. Creative ways to maximise your edge sure, but a ‘fuck it let’s spend and take the punishment’ attitude is daft especially considering the punishment could change at any moment. Also, I’d put good money on Forest struggling this season and not being the poster boys for success everyone thinks they are for much longer but that’s a whole different debate.
-
I’m a club plant and know why they sacked Russell Martin so probably won’t waste my question on that.
-
Didn’t they survive by 1 point the season they got a deduction? Given any further breaches would likely mean higher points deductions and therefore you needing to be more successful, I’d say there is real potential it would hurt.
-
You got your ticket or did you not have the bollocks?
-
Teams that have won the league recently have done so by 10, 7 and 21 points to third place though. They are the best of the 3 teams that came down as evidenced by last season and the seasons before. I’d still be expecting top two if I was them.
-
Just based on someone drafting up some possible back ups to Hakimi and thinking Sugarawa fits the ultra attacking mindset though isn’t it? Along with other options too.
-
I think it’s more interesting that people still think formations are interesting. Not least because our manager was consistently telling everyone how adaptable he is before and when he got the job. That’s one of his qualities that everyone wanted. Then there’s the reality that like most modern football team we will attack and defend in different shapes and patterns depending on the game, opponents and nuances of individual qualities on both sides that really renders ‘formations’ as obsolete.

Was not expecting to read that comparison today 🤣

https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/media-article/albion-beat-saints-behind-closed-doors This from Brightons perspective. With our team here.

Didn't he turn them down?
-
If we start Robinson then presumably he would be subbed off by the 70th minute. Would much rather he was coming on than being subbed off for BBD for example if we need a goal.
-
Agree with most of this except 4th and Downs with 15. No way Armstrong scores 15 with us playing like this.
-
How did the friendly go?
-
What about midfield looks lighter than the midfield that got us into the playoffs last time? We're going to play completely differently so may negate/require certain attributes but purely personnel wise, we're no weaker than before.

Don't think Stephens will be there in fairness. Not that I disagree with your view of what you'll get back. -
Again, just worth noting he was one of the top performing teenagers in the biggest league in the world last season.
