  1. Not sure why anyone seems to think our club would sign somebody they didn't deem affordable last time this all came up now we are in Championship. Unless he's suddenly happy to waive half his wages it's not happening and good luck to him and whichever club decides to stump up the wages. Easy work for the agent to feed this into circulation though.
  2. ffs
  3. This attitude and belief will never not confuse me because I'm just looking at our squads recent results in the PL and guess what...we really weren't up to standard for quite a while. KWP aside, there really isn't much proven premier league players in our team. We've also got 1 fit player in our squad who has scored goals on a regular basis over more than just 1 season, at any level and guess what...he's the only one scoring regular for us now (and regularly blasting the ball over from 6 yards). It's hardly a shock we don't score goals. But yeah, lets get back to arguing about Manning and Martin
  4. Wasn't Charlie Cresswell linked the other day?
  5. Joachim Kayi Sanda a name worth keeping an eye on. French Under 17 captain and appeared for Valenciennes already this season. Could be the first to be funnelled up to us at some stage.
  6. What? What's the narrative here? Haven't had a striker since 2021 and owners are bellends because they can't sign strikers, apart from the one they signed in January? There's some legit criticism to be shared around our striker situation but make it make sense at least.
  7. Set pieces could be fun today. They love a set piece goal, we don't win many headers.
  8. Martin said exactly this about Sulemana on Tuesday. He also implied he was partly subbed off Saturday because he was not actively looking to do that and he’s spoken to him many times about making those runs more. But hey, yeah, it’s Martins fault not the player himself.
  9. He says so brazenly like it’s a choice that Martin is actively holding us back from.
  10. Blackmore always does this. Surprised it’s taken this long for Martin to be slightly chippy back. It’s an annoying style but some people like it I guess. Why are our fans so precious about Blackmore and manager interviews in general? Literally every manager is spikey in interviews but here it’s seen as a cardinal sin. Best form in the past couple of years is it? Better not be defensive about your record in an interview fella.
  11. Meanwhile….Piroe has 3 goals less in the league than Adam Armstrong who Martin specifically said in the summer was his version of Piroe. He’s not an out and out striker so was not a viable signing whilst we kept hold of Armstrong. Finished your sentence for you.
  12. I’ll give you this last night, but how many other times has this happened? Who of our relegated squad that is still clearly prem standard has won us games from individual skill?
  13. Yeah, we weren't very good. Everyone agrees. Manager, players, fans, pundits. It's hardly ground-breaking insight.
  14. I'm not sure any of this is true so that's impressive. Anyway, we aren't going to win every game and when we don't win it's going to be because we didn't do enough with the possession which is far easier to take than the days of being given the complete run around. Onto the next one. A good day for the people who are desperate to say "I told you so", they haven't had many recently.
  15. He's currently playing his best and most consistent football since being here and for the first time he's trusted from the start on a regular basis. This idea he should "play to his strengths" and "be let off the leash" has only ever got him inconsistency from what I can tell. I think he should continue to be used in the way he is whilst developing an end product. Recycling the ball is a much better decision for the team than him running blindly up the field with everyone around him struggling A) to keep up and B) to know what he's going to do. It's also clearly better for him as well because he becomes unpredictable for defenders and it's getting him more game time.
  16. Got away with it is such a naff and defeatist way of looking at it. The amount of times we did it and it was successful far outweighs the times we misplaced a pass and when it worked it worked well. Embrace those moments and enjoy them, the times it goes wrong take on the chin and encourage them to get the next attempt right. "Got away with it" just smacks of someone waiting in the crowd for it to go wrong so you can say "I told you".
  17. I'd be shocked if Fraser doesn't start.
  18. Except all the times he's said he's not happy about it of course.
  19. Think it just hammered home the point that that type of game was one the squad suited because it was lots of off the ball work. The lack of invention in the team doesn’t really show itself in a game like that but give them a defence to break down and they were fucked.
  20. I love that you’ve got annoyed at SR for a scenario you’ve made up in your head / imaginary crystal ball.
  21. We’re 4th.
  22. Also, the mental gymnastics you have to do to type in one line that the team is actively going against the managers preferences but then to write in the next he's a good man manager. That's impressive.
  23. Right lads, well done on your 3-1 victory there, I see you actually did that thing I talked about publicly for weeks by scoring a second goal and being quicker on the ball but next week can we please go back to Russball and stop all that nonsense? Huh? Yes I've praised you in the media for doing it but no, the real aim here is the slow stuff that we shall forever term Russball.
  24. Never find yourself agreeing with someone who uses the term Russball ffs
  25. You’re a parody now.
