Do we? Is that why we went on two (arguably three) runs of needlessly crappy results last season due to injuries, because we have a robust squad? Winning it will involve an extra 19 matches. That's 50% more games than the league campaign - for which we get one bye one round in the League Cup. Even losing in the first tie we'll be playing one match more than last season if we do as well in the other cups.

Hell, I moved clubs for a set of kit once, I'm in no position to judge.
-
No doubt as a result of helmets like me phoning them up to say my discount didn't go through (it didn't, they even took my card) and them having to refund me about £15 retrospectively.

And we all knew it at the time. -
I do like that "we will win the JPT" comment from the Skate in 2012. Not yet you haven't. Any excuse to shoehorn it in here, but that's actually their national team, and not the might of College Europa (aptly named, maybe they should call themselves "University Champions" instead).

San Marino are 52nd out of the 54 UEFA nations. They have 2 representatives (League runner up and Cup winner) in the Europa League, both in the 1st Qualifying Round. FWIW They are "AC Juvenes/Dogana" and "La Fiorita". Third qualifying round (58 teams) 5 domestic cup winners from associations 13–17 9 domestic league third-placed teams from associations 7–15 5 domestic league fourth-placed teams from associations 5–9 3 domestic league fifth-placed teams from associations 4–6 (League Cup winners for France) 3 domestic league sixth-placed teams from associations 1–3 (League Cup winners for England) 33 winners from second qualifying round And just because this is never simple, "sixth-place team from associations 1-3 (League Cup winners for England)" actually ends up being 7th placed Saints, because both League Cup and FA Cup winners are already in the Champions League, so 2 league qualification places became available based on league position instead.
-
It's a tricky thing to work out because just looking at coefficients doesn't give a true reflection of standard - easily verified by looking at Celtic's coefficient compared to Saints. About all that's certain is that fifteen Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round losers will drop into the Europa League Play-Off Round (in which there will be 22 matches) and that upsets in the CL 3Q are bad for us, whilst in the EL they are good for us (as long as Saints aren't upset!).

Ha, pleased to discover I already own our "new" home goalkeeper socks from two years ago when I wanted something to go with a blue training top.

If you want to get into some really loserish detail about Hull's Euro kits last season I can recommend this... https://hullcitykits.co.uk/europa-league-play-kit-summary/ Apparently Hull were meant to remove the word "Umbro" from the sleeves of their shirts and didn't. And they wore their white away European kit at Lokeren after asking Lokeren to wear their away kit at home so there would be a clash...
-
More importantly, the pre-order does confirm we'll be having crappy generic adidas red socks with white trim. Which is alright, I'm sure there are loads of clubs still selling those off from last season at less than £10. Shorts do have the white hoop around the top, otherwise fairly standard adidas.

Already posted a pic earlier - sort of bluey-purple and in the window of West Quay for a week or so.

Here's the ball with the new logo, anyway:

I wouldn't if I was you, seeing as we won't be able to wear the unveiled home shirt in the Europa League due to the UEFA regulations on numbers over stripes... at best we'll have a plain (probably red) panel on the back for the Europa games - though I'm not entirely sure that applies to qualification rounds - I think Hull had a "panel" last season though, so I guess it does. Long and short though, it'll be a different back, even if the front is the same. I assume the club have plans - maybe they'll do us a white/red sash shirt for Europe to match the away design? Oh, and there's been a slight tweak to the Europa League logo for next season too, so don't buy any old ones on eBay.
-
Oh, and Granty's told me he'll be stickying a Europa League post at some point soon to stop us having to repeat all this lot.
-
If you could not use the term "Champions League Play Offs", that would be helpful. The teams you've listed are in the Champions League 3rd Qualfying Round - that's the round before the CL Play-Offs - no team in the CL Play-Off round will also be in the EL Play-Off round, but 15 teams from the CL 3Q will be in the EL Play-Off round.

I'd certainly be happy to sign Djuricic and Elia on loan again, unless we sign players who are obviously upgrades in their positions. But their European experience, previous experience with us, and understanding of how the club works, would be really useful in the early stages of the Europa League. I don't think they've done particularly poorly either, Elia obviously peaked early, but showed what he's capable of with the right motivation, and Djuricic was just showing signs of creativity and improved strength and ability to meet the challenges of the rapid Premier League when the season ended. They've both shown they can contribute, it's just whether we want players with a far greater pedigree, rather than relatively cheap short-term players with something to prove. Not sure they're permanent signings, no reason to think the loan option isn't possible again though.

It's been locked due to Ludwig calling hypo a c*nt repeatedly, I assume. We need a Europa League sticky to stop people asking the same questions over and over, it's LONG overdue. I saw the time you posted about the 2nd Q round second leg thing this morning, I realised it whilst drifting off to sleep last night, so you beat me by about 3 hours. Was anticipating the draw would be home/away drawn alongside the draw as I remembered that from the past draws, but hadn't checked, so thanks for that too.

decided, and there are 29 ties in the 3rd Qualifying Round, so we will be seeded on the 3rd Qualifying Round as we have to be one of the "top 29". In the Play Off Round there will be 15 Champions League drop-outs added, and only 22 matches. Unless the CL drop-ins are teams with low coefficients we're unlikely to be seeded: There are 34 teams in CL 2Q and no more than 8 of those will have a higher coefficient than Saints - assuming they all make the CL 3Q, 8 of the teams who are added into CL 3QR will also have higher coefficients, which means most likely 16 of the teams in the Champions League 3QR will have better coefficients than Saints. In 15 matches. However, it is of course the 15 LOSERS of that 3QR will drop into the EL Play Off Round, so you'd expect these to be the sides with lower ratings. There are, however, 18 teams with lower coefficients than Saints in the CL 3Q, so it is still possible that if the 15 losers are all the lowest coefficient sides we'd be seeded in PO round. That would leave 15 CL drop-ins with lower co-efficients, there are also 13 teams in the EL 3Q with lower coefficients, and 22 of the 44 teams are to be seeded. In that scenario Saints would also be a seed in the Play Off round. Every upset in the CL 3Q will reduce our chances of being seeded in the PO round and every upset in the EL 3Q (except Saints' match) will increase our chances. Six of those results going against coefficient would mean Saints wouldn't be seeded in Play-Off Round.

Seeing as the "European Tour" thread got inexplicably locked for some petty waahing which mods could have just deleted, probably best to keep the Europa info in one place. Saints coefficient confirmed as 16.078 (not quite 17 but not a bad guess ). We will be seeded in the 3rd Qualifying Round, and play one of the teams with the 29 lowest coefficients in that round. We probably won't be seeded in the Play-Off round because of the teams dropping in from the Champions League 3Q and the fact that most likely the other seeded teams will have progressed from the EL 3Q and now there are only around half as many sides (exact numbers above). This means we'll miss the top clubs in 3Q but could get one in Play Off round. Since last posting on this thread I've noticed that the 3Q Draw (17th July) takes place BEFORE the second leg of the 2Q round (23rd July), so whilst we'll be drawn against "either/or" a pairing from the 2Q round, that's really not that helpful in booking travel. Though if someone is 6 goals up in the first leg... We will at least know who's home and away on which dates then, as they'll be drawn at the same time as the teams. Unless they change it from last year.

Someone should probably change the thread title too, there's no Tournament 12-19th July. -

Just for the record, I booked flights and hotels for this 2 weeks ago - and no, Saints haven't confirmed it yet. And yes, it is for our wedding Anniversary. -
Absolute head-shaking at the idea that we might NOT have wanted to get into the Europa League. Who ARE these people? Good news on the de-prioritising the League Cup front, we're already in the third round.

Fairly sure they're only kids sizes and were in the store over a year ago. It's just something adidas to sell with a Saints badge added, and the reason the badge is the wrong side is because it's regular adidas clothing with their logo where it usually is, and the Saints badge added later.
