  1. Described by the not very good Football-Shirts.co.uk site as looking like the new Everton shirt (which again has the old le coq sportif style rounded triangle neck).
  2. Apologies in advance for this one, these were the result of their votes.
  3. Note also that on the kids' shirt the white stripes at the side of the front piece are not just cut into by the red side panels, they're completely missing. Also on the kids' shirt, the badge is on the white stripe, whilst on the video unveil it's on the red stripe, and in the illustration it's across both colours evenly...
  4. Because all their striped templates have central logos. Not convinced those plain red socks with white trim are the actual design btw. Though it may be naive of me to think the design in the picture had at LEAST a black hoop and we're not getting some crappy generic adidas socks that various other sides have been rotating through for about 4 years.
  5. Quite similar to the new Dortmund shirt.
  6. Guessing 1st August or thereabouts, in line with previous years. If we make the Europa League 3rd Qualifying Round probably the week before, as that starts July 30th.
  7. Seeing as there are numerous complications and he's probably the one we'd be most keen on, I fail to see how it would be resolved "fairly quickly". To clarify: 1) He's our player as we have a loan to buy condition unless Atletico pay to have him back 2) Atletico haven't officially said they want him back, so we can't react to that 3) Atletico may be under transfer embargo which might mean they can't sign anyone 4) If Atletico are under transfer embargo they may appeal, meaning they can carry on as normal 5) As we have the "clause waiver" fee in hand on the transfer, we can afford to apply that to any revised deal (ie we can pay £2m less than anyone else) 6) Yesterday's rumour that Atletico want Schneiderlin must have come from somewhere and complicates things even further 7) It's really not that simple, is it?
  8. He's trained for years on this. 1st July.
  9. You've completely missed the point. It's losing in matches where we score fewer than the opposition that's the problem. If we could turn the matches where we score fewer than the opposition into us getting 3 points we'd be much higher up the league.
  10. Another one of those awful ideas some people have from time to time that are never as widespread as they'd hope. Give me Niemi Day at Charlton any day (even if he didn't play).
  11. I know, that was the point of my post. Look at it as win/win then.
  12. We "get to the group stages" on August 27, that leaves about 4 days for all the teams we've been sodding about all summer to agree to our terms and put the transfer through. Doesn't sound like a very clever policy to me. I think we already know the likelihood of needing to replace Schneiderlin and Clyne, as well as any others, will already have the shortlists for those players well in negotiation, and then depending on the Cup Final will have plans either for more depth or more quality in permanent signings (or loans to buy), with a bunch of other potential loanees lined up for those last few days just in case of making the Group Stages. The good thing about the last 32 is that you know if you've made it before the January window even opens, and you can sign players before the knockout rounds begin. The bad thing is that a lot of players will be cup-tied by then.
  13. Kane had scored 2 goals in the Premier League prior to December 14th, I suspect his "double-marking" came a LOT later. How about a striker who pulls into midfield and creates the space for the deep-lying striker? Oh, and I just checked FantasyLeague.com and Pelle only went 9 matches without a goal or assist. He scored against Palace in the Cup. His early season record shows what happens when teams don't go to the trouble of trying to stop him.
  14. I have been since 1991 and I have no idea what it is referring to. Nor does the rest of the internet - this thread is the top Google hit for it.
  15. We won't have qualified because of Arsenal winning, that was 2003. This time we'll have qualified because UEFA changed the rules on cup runners-up qualifying before the start of the season.
  16. People use different terms in different countries. I think people generally are over it.
  17. More long passes early as we have the ball more in defence and use Pelle as a target man away from the box, less high press so less likely to intercept the ball and more likely to need to win it with tackling.
  18. FIFA's ACTUAL STATUTES insist on the transfer of funds to delegates being in cash, and they all queue up to be given wads of notes. Why anyone would think there were any issues with bribes, money laundering, fraud, tax evasion or criminal activity I can't imagine.
  19. He didn't get sued, did he?
  20. Apart from him knowing about Teixeira and Havelange taking bribes over tv deals from the previous President, and him not doing anything about it when he came in.
  21. 1 is a classic case of missing the point - Forster's injury also coincided with us not being able to field both Schneiderlin and Wanyama at the same time for the rest of the season, meaning we didn't have our first choice back 4 due to Alderweireld in midfield, or didn't have 2 defensive midfielders in front of them. It also coincided with Yoshida's return to the team. In addition, the team as a whole started failing to show the drive they clearly had against Chelsea, and we lost matches as a result. None of this would have been massively improved by Forster still being fit - though he might have done better with the efforts conceded at Stoke, that's pretty much the only game where it would have made any difference. 2 Pelle didn't "go missing", teams started marking him and we changed the things he was asked to do to allow Mane to score, then teams wised up to that as well, and as a general rule we struggled to create things all season long anyway due to the defensive focus. It's notable that the two times we stuffed teams came as a result of their dodgy defending, we score goals when we know there's no threat at the other end.
  22. Although they can at any point decide that the privilege they've given to the IFAB of being the arbiters of FIFA's laws goes away, of course - or that the membership of IFAB is no longer 4 UK members and 4 non-UK FIFA. The real reason no civilised Western country is getting the World Cup any time soon is FIFA's insistence on creating their own legislation and court process for the duration of the tournament, and the massive tax breaks FIFA insists upon from the host country as a pre-condition of hosting.
  23. It's mainly because the US Federal Laws allow for the extradition of people on the most tenuous of links to the US. I saw "use of a US ISP" on the list of valid reasons for American intervention. Usually I'm on the fence about their imposition of themselves as global enforcers, but this one is funny.
  24. Wouldn't you be more bothered that Eddie Howe ACTUALLY won the LMA Award, whilst Mourinho only won the Prem award?
