  1. Yeah, have that irene. Complete contradiction to pretty much everything we were told when Boruc disappeared from the matchday squad.

    Short vs bald

Well, my hair's finally developed a little bit of a hole at the back and is on its way out at the age of 41 (and a half...) and I'm 5'9" (also "and a half", but that just sounds desperate so feel free to ignore it). By this age I no longer have use for the sexytime benefits of head hair anyway (as I am married). I'd rather be a slaphead than a midget, pretty sure none of the girls I've ever been involved with would have been put off if I was a slaphead anyway. Plus it's been working its way backwards at the sides for about 15 years gradually - it was about 1999 the last time I had it completely how I wanted it, since then there's always been some kind of styling to cover some bit consideration. There are a bunch of other age-related issues which are worse anyway, pee drips, random stinkiness, delayed recovery rates, tooth sensitivity all suck and have more impact. Though if I end up shaving my head in a few years, we shall see how I feel about it then. Not sure if my blockhead is suitably shaped for nakedness.

The judge used some very definite language about believing his story about his girlfriend being in the bedroom, that was another area of extreme dubiousness that wasn't successfully explored. He did get done for basically "knowing shooting a door with a person on the other side might kill them", so some of your point about knowing the effect of shooting the bullets has already influenced the decision.
  4. Apart from it being completely against Premier League regulations.
  5. That will mess up any shirt that the club has produced in the past 30 years. Maybe people are just getting more vociferous about complaining about these things.
  6. Boruc threadjack starts... NOW! "I spoke to Artur and the best situation for everybody was if he played in another team," said Koeman.
  7. What about the times the ball gets hoofed over the stand? How low down do these reviews go? Does the Football League have the facilities to deliver the same? Why should getting the decisions right in a mid-table end of season Premier League match be more important than getting the decisions right in a League Two relegation battle?
  8. That commentary is bonkers, rapido something and then random English phrases thrown in. Didn't think much of his header circa 40" but nice pass, movement and finish for the goal.
  9. Premier League rules (seriously) state there has to be an official squad photo by September 30th: http://m.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2014-15.pdf So you might have another couple of weeks to wait yet.

Didn't realise that they'd ruled out all possibility of murder (based on the definitions above I'd have though "knew someone might be killed" would have covered it) but yeah, still coming to the same conclusion about 7-15 years.

I think he's getting at least 7 years under culpable homicide - could be 7-15 depending on how feasible the judge thinks his story is, could be 15-20 if she decides he intended to kill, whomever it was behind the door.

Seems pretty obvious to me that without knowing for certain he would hit the person on the other side of the door, whomever they were, he couldn't be guilty of murder. He can still get 15 years for Common-law murder, which is intent to kill in the heat of the moment moment without "malice aforethought" if they decide he meant to kill or that someone might be killed if he shot at the door, which sounds pretty much the definition of the situation. Helpful chart on the BBC website : Verdict What it means Sentence Premeditated murder Intended and planned to unlawfully kill Reeva Steenkamp, or an intruder Mandatory life term - 25 years before parole Common-law murder Unlawfully intended to kill in the heat of the moment but without "malice aforethought". Either: Shot door intending to kill, or knew someone might be killed and still fired gun Minimum of 15 years up to 20 years, at judge's discretion Culpable homicide (manslaughter) No intention to kill. Takes into account disability, but actions negligent and not in keeping with a reasonable person Maximum of 15 years, possibly between seven and 10 years Discharging a firearm in public Two counts for allegedly firing a gun through a car sunroof and discharging a gun at a restaurant A fine or up to five years - for each charge Illegal possession of ammunition In possession of .38 bullets for which he has no licence A fine or up to 15 years Anyway, he's er, dodged a bullet and doesn't have a leg to stand on.
  13. Saints' Press Conference is the last of the day and is 3pm according to the BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/28689628 - right at the bottom of the feed.
  14. Shrewsbury Town have more in the past 12 months than everyone in the 92 except Newcastle. Interesting. Look at this bunch of photo-fit stereotype morons: http://www.shropshirestar.com/news/2013/08/06/football-hooligans-admit-shrewsbury-town-centre-fight/
  15. Something along those lines - I still don't quite understand the logic of leaving him out for the last few games of the last transfer window - other than to make it difficult for him to go in a shop window he wouldn't get from sitting on the bench anyway, and didn't need? Maybe they just agreed to give him a break for his previous service as long as he sucked it up and carried on (under the terms of his contract, let's not forget). We'll know anyway if he's not on the bench on Saturday.
  16. Presumably there would already be more facilities of an appropriate standard, and existing infrastructure? Not sure if that would be cheaper than just building from scratch in an underdeveloped area?
  17. The most important reason for building links and feeder clubs at the moment is still the ability to flog merchandise to a new market with a local identity and generate even more revenue to expand the FFP limits, judging by what Man City are doing with NYCFC. Or as a dumping ground for loan players (Chelsea).
  18. Quite - China is an absolutely massive market, but Lowe was hardly to know that when they did finally catch on to the Premier League there would be such a bunch of faffing about the rights (which are owned by a PPV company who offer occasional matches to numerous free local subsidiaries) - also, it might have helped if we were actually still in the Premier League in the seven seasons following this to have been able to maintain and/or benefit from it. Seeing as we got relegated almost immediately, it would have gone the way of other non-essential projects like the Radio station and the women's football team.
  19. I had to look at the spreadsheet 3 times even after reading that to find them!
  20. If you believe irene, Boruc won't get the chance to win his place back because Forster has been told he's number 1 and there's no competition for that place possible. If you believe logic and rational thought, if Forster messes up, you'd expect Boruc to be on the top of his game to prove his readiness to replace him. Then again, Artur's never been known for his rational thought!
  21. Ok, to be clear, are we talking about threads and seams coming loose, or are we talking about bits of the main material catching and pulling "lines" into the material around it?
  22. I got your point, I just wanted to relate one instance of someone only buying the shirt for the quality, I am well aware my kit-purchasing habits are by no means typical - and you're right about the kit quality not being a factor in any floating fans in SE Asia deciding to buy. I should think the potential local availability without a huge shipping delay would be more of a factor in the kind of impulse purchase that can hook someone more deeply into a brand - if you're prepared to wait for shipping, we've already got them. Oh, and a consistent identity which isn't just "we're trying to be Liverpool" would have been a nice Prem starting point, there are going to be a few confused recent converts in Malaysia and Indonesia wondering where this striped stuff came from if they hadn't got into the history of the club before 2012.
  23. Fair enough, sounds like it is worse than usual. Is this the home or away shirt?
  24. See below.
  25. They can potentially sell Skate shirts all over the country* too, because Ashley owns the rights to use Sondico. Whether they do, or whether my experiences in Eastleigh and Whiteley have coloured this view, I don't know. I'll make a point of checking one next time I'm out of town - though as Sondico also supply Yeovil, Torquay, MK Dons and Port Vale, and I've never seen THEIR shirts in either of those stores, I think I already know the answer. I've never seen a Swansea shirt for sale outside Swansea, and I lived in Newport for 30 years (where to my disgust some retailers sold Cardiff City shirts in the mid-90s).
