I expect it'll be his hilarious sense of humour... Titanic Ice Bucket challenge, ahahahahahaha, no-one in the city where the football club he plays for is located could possibly be offended by that...
-
Well obviously it started when Boruc didn't like being replaced as first choice keeper by Forster.
-
We can sign 5 uncontracted over-21s, to add to the 20 contracted players we already have, if we want.
-
I've asked, and our Lord and Master (not Baj, the other one) says he's not seen any account that would to identify her, though there's always been someone at the club reading it, and plenty of other traffic comes from the club's network.

I refrained from mentioning you in my original post.

Maybe we can ask him to change it? I mean, To-bi-as Al-der-wei-reld is up there with James Mi-chael Ed-ward Ward-Prowse for being ridiculously difficult to get into a song. Though obviously we don't need all of JWP's name and there's always the Neil Shipperley song to try and shoehorn someone with a lot of syllables into.

Talking Tactics: Koeman gives Saints fans reasons to be cheerful
The9 replied to pap's topic in The Saints
We had this stat argument last season - the "long pass" (not "long ball") required to count towards that stat was, I think, anything over 15 (or maybe 20) yards - our stats included numerous square balls between the split centre backs to each other in their own half, and quite a few lateral crossfield midfield and overlapping full back-finding passes, rather than any great amount of "whack it at Lambert" type stuff as implied. -
Talking Tactics: Koeman gives Saints fans reasons to be cheerful

...if you don't have one particular centre back who can't read anything in the air and watches every long ball sail over his head... Not much talk about our current tactics in this tactics thread. I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that I suggested dropping Wanyama to reduce the number of DMs in the team before West Brom - we didn't, and we drew 0-0 in an incredibly uncreative and turgid match. We then dropped him for West Ham and scored a bunch of goals. Wanyama is great for shielding the defence alongside someone else, not so great for a team which needs an extra attacking or creative presence. Obviously it's not as simple as that, but there's quite a correlation at the moment. -

Oh and "Kevin Antonio Joel Gislain Mirallas Y Castillo", nice work. From that crossbar video above, Jay Enrique Rodriguez definitely has a typo - unless of course the registrar in Burnley wrote it in the register wrongly and then had to amend it in the margin and the online record is still wrong (guess who worked for the Birth/Death Registration people for a bit). Suppose I could search the Births Register but that would be BLOODY RIDICULOUS.

Well she was right, we didn't have a match on September One.

Well done for being the first one to spell his name correctly (eleventh post).

Southampton buck the trend and are the biggest transfer window earners!
The9 replied to ozzmeister's topic in The Saints
I've seen plenty to suggest they MIGHT be, but the departing players had a certain level of ability and performance you knew you'd get - we haven't had enough matches to know if someone's having a good game or a bad game by their standards yet. For instance, Tadic's flick at Liverpool was brilliant, do we know if he's going to do that practically every match, or if it's the only time he's ever going to manage something like that in the Premier League? Not yet. Pelle got slated for his first matches and lauded for his last one (...and a bit), is he going to improve, or is this as good as he gets? Mind you, Lambert wasn't a Prem player in 2009/10 and he had 3 years' development to get to his peak. -

Me too, and I think most of you know that I felt Lambert was holding us back a bit - but my ar5e is Pelle "ten times the player Lambert is", we can't even tell if he's better, yet. -
I only watched the recording I had of France v Spain from the point where Schneiderlin came on - I thought he looked like he didn't have a clue what he was meant to be doing - which is totally understandable as a defensive midfielder brought on with about 15 minutes left. He did a lot of Pulis-like crab-movement with thinking about closing down, and on a few occasions actively took up positions where the man on the ball could not possibly pass to him - for instance twice he went down the line and put a defender in the way, when staying square would have allowed him to receive the ball. It was a bit weird, really, though he didn't actively do anything majorly bad.

As a Newportonian, despite numerous Newport v Cardiff matches in Div 3 and 4, I wasn't permitted to attend Ninian Park for anything other than occasional Wales matches. I didn't do so until Saints played them in the Championship the season we got relegated - pretty sure I've already been to the Cardiff city Stadium more times than I did Ninian for Red/blueturds matches.

You take that back! Touchy subject, we all know the difference between townies and valley scum there. It has changed a bit though, Newport was full of 7-seater scumbus Gwent valley boys and girls on a Friday and Saturday night into the early 2000s, when they re-built the disused Gwent Valley train line and terminated it in Cardiff not Newport. The last 2 stops before it takes a right for Cardiff are Risca and Rogerstone which are both historically considered part of Newport locally, and the main road from those valleys emerges at M4 Junction 28 which is also in Newport. After the train service re-emerged, all the (Gwent) valley boys ended up in Cardiff, and Newport's nightlife, whilst a bit rough before, just disappeared into thin air. But trust me, I've been out in Pontypool, Newport's positively cosmopolitan compared to that lot (and Pontypool's cosmopolitan compared to Ebbw Vale). NB: The Gwent valleys (used to) feed Newport, the "actual" Welsh valleys (i.e. Rhondda/Cynon/Taff) still feed into Cardiff. And that lot decrease in civility the nearer mid-Wales you get too. As for the scariness of Newport women, I think it's just placating wives generally, no different on the sunny South Coast. All of which just serves to underline the various expectations of Newportonian yobs on an away day (which I've just remembered was pay on the day as well, an added attraction).

Oops, TEN bookings.

He scored against them, on last season's precedent his head is currently headed up the A34.

Also worth noting that this could have been referring to future enquiries, they'd already had dialogue about Lallana, Shaw and (as he left soon after) presumably Lambert too. Plus Ralph apologised for this exact statement live on Sky (in the "Rodriguez and Schneiderlin are not leaving" statement) saying it was necessary to say that for the club to get the highest price possible for the outgoing players once they'd decided to sell.
-
I don't think it's the first time though, I've seen "Enriqus" on previous squad lists. Maybe it's wrong on an official Saints document (or maybe that actually is his name?).

The most pertinent quote about that I heard was "name another player over the age of 31 that's been transferred for more". The closest I got was Emile Heskey!
