  1. I heard some kind of new Pelle song on Sunday at White Hart Lane - it didn't last long and couldn't pick out many of the words or tune, so I'm guessing it was that abomination in the OP, which doesn't scan to the tune it's meant to fit and is a 4 year old knock off of a song which was good for its time but is now the very definition of passe.
  2. And do you think that's what they'd be doing if they had managed to ally with anyone with any access to a sizeable amount of money and the credit to get more? I might suggest the only reason they're not burning up credit again already is because they can't get any. As the Skate who called me a #bitterscummer said, "credit where credit's due" (sic).
  3. Against League 3 on Twitter certainly didn't appreciate me querying whether they also supported overspending and not paying a penny of a CVA when they retweeted it as some kind of lower league fan ownership success story.
  4. I was a called a #bitterscummer for pointing out the thing about >25% fan ownership on twitter. I wonder what league tables they're being fed by the local media.
  5. I will readily stand up and say that I thought he was going to be utter cack for us, my concern being that he didn't seem very bothered at Villa and his decent early performances tailed off rapidly. So far he's been absolutely fine for a Prem left back, and provided he maintains that level all season I'm more than happy to say he looks like a solid signing - good, even.
  6. I'm finding it difficult to keep up with all this: 1) They were spouting off about being them being "debt free" on the day of the takeover, despite the legacy payments due to ex-players. So either they were then, or they are now, but it can't be both. 2) Didn't a lot of people on here work out the fan share was down to about 25% ages ago due to added HNW investment? What happened to that? Does the "fans who are HNW" bit up the percentage?
  7. Not sure why they should be getting any credit for paying the outstanding football creditors less than they agreed to ("settlements") later than they would have done if they'd actually channelled ALL the parachute payments to them. They've only paid off "early" because they set a ridiculously long time scale for those payments to begin with.
  8. Get on Twitter and start on @AgainstLeague3, far too positive a spin, I've already mentioned unpaid CVAs and diluted fan "shares", but I'm on hols and cannot be bothered to persist. Can I suggest something about the pure amount that's been written off in order to enable them to exist, and then something about the non fan ownership, and the fact that these settlements are again not paying the full amount owed, and of course the fact that the parachute payments were more than enough to have paid the players off months ago but they chose not to.
  9. Plenty of other banks don't have contactless payment cards as default yet.
  10. Mine arrived today. Typically I shall be missing the weekend's match so won't get to try it out.
  11. Can't see this going to pens, more than 4 goals each, now that's possible based on Arsenal's recent previous in this competition.

    Oh dear Poch

Well, that sounds like a load of retrospective cobblers. Adkins' last result was a 2-2 draw at Chelsea, I'm pretty sure he was starting to get the best out of a load of players who obviously took a while to get used to the Premier League standard.
  13. I thought Chambers was injured, anyway?
  14. It's a method of paying, not a method of pre-ordering.
  15. As noted, it's because many of the kids are playing at a level higher than their age groups to expedite their development, presumably by challenging them more than having them win every game by 4 goals in a team full of "flat track bullies".
  16. That is a horrendously written article, using those crappy statement sentences so beloved by local news nowadays. It is awful to read as there's no flow to it, and it's completely jarring, distracting and detracts from the actual content. In short, some words.
  17. Bolton did it for a while with short term deals for top level pros who were on a downhill slope (eg Djorkaeff, Bobic, Campo) and Wigan seemed to be doing something similar for their entire spell in the top flight until it finally caught up with them.
  18. We were top for about 10 minutes when 2-0 up at Derby on the opening day circa 2000...
  19. I've just added another club to my L2 tour, and I've now seen home fans of L2 clubs at Accrington, Plymouth, Luton, Wimbledon, Tranmere, Wycombe, Northampton, Stevenage, Portsmouth, Hartlepool, Bury, Exeter, Cheltenham, Morecambe, Oxford and Shrewsbury. With the fans rated in that order. Obviously I've left Newport out, bit biased there and can't judge home fans when in with them. This is on noise level and effort, taking the score into consideration.
  20. They haven't won it since 2008.

In fact it's that which has caused the new interpretations of the law, to stop all the "get the ball and injure the man" tackles.

Irrelevant whether he made contact with the player or not if Fonte's challenge was reckless or dangerous, still worthy of a card if the player is smart enough to get out of the way so he doesn't get injured. You'd think we'd know this having had Marsden sent off for a ridiculous two-footed lunge on Vieira over ten years ago which was 2 yards short of injuring him. (Though the interpretation of the Laws has changed since then).
  23. Hamstring tightness, Koeman said. Also, "Alderweireld", it's not difficult.
  24. Just to keep this thread right up to date, we passed the coach on the A34 coming back from Swansea at around 8:30pm.
  25. Where did this "foreign clubs only" bit come in, it never used to be part of the Bosman regulations and originally players could negotiate with anyone? It's been around for a while, I'm just wondering what prompted it.
