Just added the West Brom away which looks superb despite being the same template as the sh1tty Saints home leak... but with stripes. Now waiting on the following : Arsenal Home Cardiff Home (to confirm shorts colour!), Away, maybe 3rd Everton Away Fulham Away Hull Home Man City Alternate (dunno if that red/black/white thing is legit) Norwich Away Saints Away Stoke Home Sunderland Home Swansea Home, Away Spurs Away, 3rd West Brom Home And any unexpected third kits for adidas teams...
-
Oh, this'll annoy some Saints fans.Even THAT looks better as a Saints kit than the leak... : Interesting placement of the adidas logo compared to the plain shirts.

Just going to have a look...

There are quite a lot of photos of the box content on a thread on here already... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45182-Contents-of-the-ST-pack-2013-14

Mmmm, not sure I necessarily agree with that. If it's between two clubs offering the same wad of cash and one of them's saying "we'll be adding players to get us into Europe" and the other is saying "we'll be trying to establish ourselves in this league", you'd probably expect the player to go for the one with the more immediate chance of glory. Either that or the one with the biggest tits.

Because both are in excess of the minimum they want for him ?

Inability to post a coherent thought and need to re-discuss things vaguely that everyone's done to death already =/= Skate, they don't even necessarily = troll. There's just a higher likelihood.

On the bright side, playing in the summer should mean he's flying in August/September, until he tires in the winter and we have to rest him. See it coming a mile off (if he ever gets in the side to begin with, of course). I suspect this prediction will be my "Billy Sharp" for 2013/14.

Tadanari Lee also made direct straight runs, we never, EVER played a through ball to him in the Championship because when the option presented itself we were far more interested in keeping possession and shovelling it out to the full backs to cross. It worked, so it didn't matter. That doesn't mean that sometimes those runs weren't good and that we always took the right option by ignoring them.

Two different arguments. For instance, if Gaston was in the midfield passing to Waigo he'd have the ball before he had the chance to get offside, rather than making an early run that wasn't spotted and getting offside waiting for Hammond to actually pass it. Waigo's runs were usually too straight or just too early for the players around him. Plus as it turned out, we had a side full of players who never play through balls anyway and would rather set up Richardson or Fox to cross for Lambert the season after. One of the reasons Gaston hasn't looked great for us is because he has no-one making runs up front to pass to and ends up shuffling it sideways or forcing a through ball which has to be far too precise for the recipient to actually get it. Give him someone to pass to and you'd expect better results. Suarez is perfect for that, but didn't come on until after Ramirez had gone off, and it wasn't like there wasn't a queue of others playing easy balls through Tahiti anyway. Though he has also had a load of "trotting around not doing anything special" games like this one too. He also took another crappy free-kick.

I should think Cortese was raging about how many people got in for nowt last year* thanks to the half-baked policy of not securing the fairground area for ticket checks from about 10 minutes after the first game kicked off, then letting everyone in and out of the concourse without checking tickets. (*I know of 2 ) I wonder if they charged the merry-go-round and Wurlitzer the car parking charge ?

Whenever people get all "rightful level" I think about us coming second in the 80s, and Man City being in the third tier in the 00s. The only "rightful level" is where you finish, football is a meritocracy.
-
What hype ? And what would "delivering" look like ? Top 10 ? Top 6 ? Europa League ? Champions League ? Title ? FA Cup ? Also, how's it just down to the head coach ? I'm pretty sure the current squad won't be finishing 6th so the transfer negotiators will be at least partially responsible for outcomes, good or bad.
-
I pretty much agree with you on that. I still have massive amounts of cynicism about how likely we are to achieve our European goal, but Cortese's previous suggests that he doesn't plan on making any empty promises and his track record so far has only been on-field success matching our ambition (provided you didn't actually want to win any leagues).

No accurate stories PRIOR to the completion of a transfer. Any idiot can report it afterwards, I'm talking about where speculation is concerned, the Mirror are usually way off.

Well, the twitter leak has made its way to the site I use for most of my UK kit news : http://www.football-shirts.co.uk/fans/possible-southampton-fc-adidas-red-home-shirt-201314_20513 I think they may have posted a little more of the "we hate stripes" opinion than imagined... namecheckamania for *cough* someone. I'd also like to point out that "running" is not my preferred term.
-
2011/12 template though, same old flashes across at the end of the 3 stripes. The Portland Timbers kits are a more up-to-date reflection of what adidas can do with a "Xerox-style" template.

"Us" as in the inhabitants of this thread. The consensus ITK so far is that (apart from maybe getting a new store in West Quay), the sales will still be controlled by the club in their stores, plus online. So "available in Sports Direct" would be a significant departure from that.
-
I haven't seen an accurate Mirror story about Saints this year...
-
Based on last year I expect us to launch it this week and sell it from a Sunday in the West Quay store only. Though if the old Clinton's Cards in West Quay is really going to be an Adidas/Saints store they'll have to get a wriggle on to have it there...
-
That rumour was posted on here on Friday (and probably originated on here), I think it's in the Pointless Kit thread about 50 posts ago.
-
You didn't see them do that for the entire of our clubs' League One promotion season then ? They REMOVED THE BALLBOYS WHILST LEADING 1-0 AT WITHDEAN, FFS!!!! His Dagenham comments are ridiculous and were at the time, for no other reason that they didn't play football and were one of the more direct sides in the division, all they did at Withdean against us was chip the ball up the right wing from Calderon at left back to Bennett (?) at right wing. No kind of passing game at all, everything went long.

News to us if it is...
-
Poyet did what ? Replaced Adkins ? When was this ?
-
Old thread, nothing to add other than I still think he'll be signing for Reading, whether on loan or not is another matter.
