  1. Except when they have white shorts and white socks which are their preferred European colours. They regularly change to black alternate shorts with the home kit too. Occasionally they even twin that with white socks too... logically (and I know you love logic), when they play a team who they don't need to change shirts against, who wear white shorts, and black (or dark) socks. So that would be... ... ummm... well, I know they have done anyway. Maybe at Everton when they were more navy than royal...
  2. Why's he wearing an Exeter shirt ?
  3. More navy than "blue", and more due to the limited colour printing processes of the age than any major design choice. Black tended to be made up from numerous other colours and was a sod for running into other garments. I just made that last bit up, but it was convincing, wasn't it ?
  4. You've excelled yourself here, by managing to be outstandingly boring even on this thread, which is approaching Kit Nutjob status and is, at best, a subset of modern football supporting... ...and it's also something you've said about 5 times before. Five times before. Five times. Five. One more than four.
  5. That's not what the "stripes" poll said. From memory, 65+% for stripes, and more "I don't minds" than "I want us to play in one colour" around the 13% mark.
  6. Kevin Phillips was an unqualified success at Saints - it wasn't the attack that let us down, we scored the same number of goals as teams safely in mid-table. There's another one that gets a load of grief based on no facts whatsoever.
  7. I still don't understand why Skacel is regarded as a failure. He scored goals for Hearts as a central attacking midfielder. We used him ahead of Bale as a left midfielder and for the first 6 months he was still the leading assister in the division. After we sold Bale at the end of that season, for the rest of his career at Saints, Skacel was moved to left back, where he was pretty decent, and he was unlikely to score many goals from left back. Skacel was a perfectly decent player scoring and assisting along with the best in the League when he was played in his position, and a decent left back when he was ridiculously played out of position. As far as how great people seemed to think he was, he was a good Scottish Premier League player outside the Old Firm, and that was about it - barely played for his national side even before he signed for us, and frankly I don't know where the hype came from. He was at best a good Championship player with potential to be a bottom half Prem player. Delgado however was meant to be superb, and was less interesting than an expiring yoghurt and less effective than Chris Marsden growing an afro.
  8. It was in response to the previous poster saying "they have not spent tonnes"... Saints' spending has nothing to do with it.
  9. First thing to say is that you've linked last year's Bristol City shirt, second thing to say is that I've already done mock-ups of the Hearts home shirt style, before the West Ham kit away kit got leaked leaving us hoping we might at the very least get a nice pin-stripe. So, it'll all be about the collar - if it's the same as the one below it's a teamwear ripoff, if it's got a different collar there's at least been some effort. Compared to the shirt below, there is expected to be a new sponsor, white cuffs, and the shirt probably won't have the seam across the front. But anyway, 26 May I did this... As for the away kit - the deep V makes sense as it's typically teamwear for an adidas away kit, but the V in WHITE not gold ??!?" And badge in silver or gold makes no sense when the adidas stuff has already shown a gold logo on black background. Both home and away socks hooped or just the away ?
  10. I watch TOWIE for the comedy alone (none of the others), but you wouldn't catch me listening to Talk Sport. Troll radio. At least it was 10 years ago when I last didn't actively avoid it.
  11. I prefer the Villa home (see this thread http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?44882-Premier-League-Kits-2013-14/page2) but the away is alright-ish. I wouldn't be keen on a quartered kit (though any mix of red and white is better than just red - with the exception of the 98 Bilbao anniversary lion shirt [which I own] and the 2000 Bilbao blob kits).
  12. Dodgy twitter leak of someone's fantasy kits probably, looks like a photoshop and the graining effects on the different kits don't match which suggests someone's pasted it into the screenshot after reducing the resolution. I'm pretty sure we already know what a plain blue Nike kit will like this season, and that's probably what they'll get.
  13. I think the sponsor looks fine aesthetically, without getting into the morality of it. Interesting that they chose to move the away sponsor off the intersection of the quarters - probably to reduce the number of problems with the sponsor falling off, as opposed to any great design feat. New Sunderland about to be added, the Everton ones I think are dodgy twitter fakes, but here they are :
  14. To be honest having seen that Sunderland's away kit is the same template as Hull's I've changed my mind and am now wondering if we will be getting that as the away kit - until then I had it down as a teamwear template away or third (as it is for West Ham), but it's only Stoke's decent away (same as Chelsea home) that's stopping me thinking they're using the same template for everyone's away. I don't think adidas see us as a global strategic partner either, but they are at least getting us a nice new shop, it seems. Plus we are signing the deal as a Prem club (like Stoke and Sunderland and West Ham), Hull started theirs a couple of seasons ago in the Championship, as did Bolton.
  15. Wonga aside, I saw that grey/blue Puma Newcastle away shirt in SportsDirect the other day and it is VERY well made, it's got that soft cloth feel to it I really liked on some of the recent England kits. As for the retro shirts, the Score Draw one of the (sponsorless) Rank Xerox style was only in XL back in the early 90s, and that XL was absolutely mahoosive as well. Even having mediums is progress.
  16. Post number would be useful, page numbers vary by browser/screen size/something.
  17. Comments section on this article about Bradford's Capital One Cup Final tickets says they had 8500 SEASON TICKETS last season, although of course they're not "newly relegated", they've been watching League Two football for 6 years, which of course would make them MORE likely to buy an ST than someone who was seeing it for the first time, Mr Allen... of course it would, of course... http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/sport/10194662.Bradford_City_sell_8_000_Wembley_tickets_in_two_hours/
  18. Capital One Cup R1 draw is made on Monday morning. For the lolz, let's look at who is seeded, and who isn't, in the Southern Section : Seeds - South 1. AFC Bournemouth 2. Birmingham City 3. Peterborough United 14. Queens Park Rangers 15. Swindon Town 16. Watford 17. Yeovil Town Non seeds - South 18. AFC Wimbledon 19. Bristol Rovers 20. Cheltenham Town 21. Colchester United 22. 19. Actually this was posted months ago, then a few pages back someone posted a different Milan shirt and it got a bit confusing for a while. It's still not massively clear, as the shirt to the left of the Milan "leak" is Chelsea's away from last season and the shirt to the right is Real's home from last season, and BOTH those shirts have already been replaced. So... who knows. Neither of the Milan leaks look particularly like other adidas styles that are around.
  20. I'd say it's unlikely, Hull's deal, like Bolton's and Hearts', is a second-tier teamwear-type thing, they usually get the kit from a local distributor not "adidas" directly, and they only get to pick from the same sort of kits that parks teams can have as a result. I'd hope our deal was on a par with West Ham's, bespoke tweaks to a worldwide template, not just a badge stitched onto a teamwear kit.
  21. You weren't the only one.
  22. Added the new Villa kits to the OP, really like the home shirt (collar aside)...
  23. FWIW, the "Xerox" style mock-up needs a couple of white stripes down the side, or it's not "stripes" - the original had them, it might have been a broad stripe on the front but there were two thinner ones at the side. Without those, it's just "a broad stripe". Really liked the Argentina template one, needed a bit more black, but like the design. We've not had any legit ITK leaks for a while, anyone heard anything ? We seem to have a few conflicting opinions at the moment regarding shirt releases and sign off, etc.
  24. I see Hull are bringing horrible adidas teamwear templates to the Prem next season, I hope we've signed a decent deal...
  25. Because Stoke play in predominantly white, so if you're trying to make it not look like a Stoke kit, increasing the amount of white is probably a bad idea. We don't look like Stoke when we wear stripes, we look like Sunderland (and vice versa).
