Did I see a potential Rule 1 slip past above ?Why yes I did :
-
Surprised to find that the Elite Player rules are actually potentially working AGAINST Saints, when one of the best things about it was meant to be how the Elite Academies like us could trample all over the smaller clubs... "best" from a self-interested perspective, that is. Also surprised to find that MLG hasn't got more of an opinion on this seeing as he's probably the only one on here who's bothered to actually read the rules.

I disagree, you CAN ruin a good shirt with a bad advert (our Umbro flybe patch which didn't quite fit within the stripes being a classic example), but the aap3 one is ok, the red logo on the yellow shirt looks anaemic so I understand why the white surround, and it looks fine on plain red, white, and the 2011/12 striped shirt. The sash would have been gash with a sponsor because unless it was a small sponsor it would have ruined the sash effect, but the black away kit that season looked rubbish precisely because it DIDN'T have a sponsor.

FWIW Paraguay were still wearing the 2011 shirt in their last matches and their website is still showing that style on the player pics (which also explains why it's $85 some places), but it is 3 years out of date so that won't be what we get... and unless there's been a last minute change, we won't be getting stripes full stop. But we can hope... That Nike Barcelona template from 2011 is 1) horrendous and 2) 3 years old.

Depends where you look, I suspect.

Except that's the 2011/12 shirt and for some reason they're still wearing it : http://footballfashion.org/wordpress/2011/03/17/paraguay-adidas-copa-america-2011-jersey-camiseta/

No-one's posted it because it tells us less than we already (think we) know.

God I am glad that Adkins left...how embarrassing!
The9 replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Completely agree, no-one was "found out", we just happened to play a lot of good teams in the early matches, and by the time we started regularly playing mid-table and bottom half sides we had more than enough to survive comfortably. There's nothing in terms of actual results to suggest Pochettino is any better yet. People can cherry pick the wins against the top 3 but we also lost to QPR at home and didn't beat Sunderland, Stoke, Norwich, Newcastle or Wigan under the new manager. We beat Villa 4-1 in the first 2 months of the season, FFS, was Paul Lambert "found out" ? No, he just needed time to get his inexperienced side playing at a Prem level. -

Or we might have had better results in the numerous games where we've underperformed under Pochettino and still been fine. Worth noting that Adkins STILL has more Prem experience than Pochettino does at this point. I think you're completely wrong about things "feeling better without his management speak", they just feel different, and our new manager has his own way of avoiding answering tricky press questions. -
Could be, but the West Ham away (which the same template as far as the material template shapes go) has actual pinstripes, not just shadow weave bits.
-
Every possibility he borrowed a pair so he didn't have to do it in his shoes. Like if I ever had to do a kicking competition at St Mary's I'd be angling to borrow some boots...

As announced on this thread 12 hours ago. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I think you've given two excellent examples to answer your own question. Reading between the lines, I'd say you can be embarrassed by a successful manager if he's acting in an embarrassing way, irrespective of his success, which may be based on the things he does when acting embarrassingly. Holloway's changing room dance and moral righteousness, and di Canio's overreactions are both embarrassing, whether they're winning trophies or not. -
Here's the new Bristol Cituy away and home - you'll notice the similarity between this and the mock up I posted a few weeks back - so that rules THIS one out. One thing is becoming clear, with Hearts, Bolton and Bristol City the teams outside the Prem are getting standard teamwear templates with the standard collar and almost all are having the round neck away shirt with the two colour panels under the arms, I'm expecting us to be more in line with the West Ham away style. So you can rule out Saints wearing the exact kit Bristol City have, anyway. But something with a different collar and red where the white arm bit is, and pinstripes, seems pretty likely.

OFFICIAL: Adidas announced as new kit supplier
The9 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
They can produce it any time they like, I'm sure we could get into pre-contracts, especially as Umbro don't exist any more, guessing they basically couldn't sell it or brand adidas everywhere before then. And they can't sell the old stuff officially because I would think adidas' contracts would be very explicit about that. It's the same reason clubs can't sell authentic retro kits from other brands in their official shops. They'll either give the kit away via the Foundation or they'll flog it to Sportsdirect and Mike Ashley will sell it on. -
I'm looking forward to Adkins also signing Hammond soon then too, and hopefully half their team purely to sit on Reading's bench, that would amuse me.

1. No, though the crashes and scenery are occasionally decent. 2. I have no idea. 3. What ? People actually travel to see it ? 4. Serves him right, the odious football-hooligan cobblers spouting arse.

I don't want to suggest that "The Southampton Way" is catching on, but "striped team moves to plain red kit, uses gold trim and has special anniversary badge" seem to have been done before :

I didn't think the Appleby Horse Fair was news now Big Fat Gypsy Weddings isn't on any more.

Your standards, or possibly your opinion of the standards of Mail readers, must be incredibly low.

I've got a 2005 A3 (goatee beard style, same as the 2007), and my RNS-E Sat Nav (DVD still plays CDs, won't show maps) and aircon are busted. VW mechanic I know said the compressor has gone on the air con, as it holds the gas and doesn't leak but doesn't cool, and I'm wondering where to get those kind of parts / labour.

Well there's this : http://www.hampshirefa.com/noticeboards/players but might be worth asking the Saturday team players about Sundays ?

And for Liverpool, to boot !

I think we've all established where the fault in this thread lies.

You'll have to ask the club that. It was stated quite clearly in the communication. "As of 1st June 2013, the Club will enter into a long-term partnership that will see the sportswear giant produce our team kit, replica kit, training wear, leisurewear and equipment Read more at http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/southampton-fc-are-all-in-839343.aspx#12XmwJFMKquJ7GYk.99 " It was, however, clearly the reason for clearing all non-adidas branded replica kit on the evening of May 31st.
