I reckon that's worth a sticky...

Not if people start posting pics of Uruguayan birds he hasn't.

Haven't read the rest of the thread, but no club in Italy is in any kind of decent financial situation at the moment and I doubt he'd leave to go anywhere which wasn't La Liga or a top 6 Prem club anyway.

Stoke (A) Tickets On Sale From Thursday. Nicely Priced As Well
The9 replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Went up there and saw Stoke v Brighton in the FA Cup a couple of years ago when our match at Rochdale was called off when we were already in the midlands. Wasn't at all impressed with the hoops my disabled mate had to jump through (figuratively) to be able to park near their ground and get a ticket half way around the ground, so won't be giving them any more of my money. Plus I've already been there now, haven't I ? Maybe I should have a look to see if Rochdale are home ? -
Or even No Limit by 2Unlimited ?

Anything but something that just sounds like he's getting booed would be a massive improvement.

If YOU could give Nigel Adkins one piece of advice; what would it be

It would be to ignore the idiots and get on with the job of keeping us up. -
Oh, and as far as the atmosphere went, I was stunned. I've been to Anfield about 10 times since the mid-80s and that was by far the quietest I've ever heard it. I guess they just don't have any passion for being a mostly mediocre mid-table side after the success they had until 20 years ago. Not sure why anyone would think the Saints fans were daytrippers though when the tickets sold out before ST holders could buy them for a whole day - although as I noted at the time, Everton didn't sell out and that was basically the same "day out" for anyone but against a better side.
-
I thought Liverpool were comfortably the better side and it didn't have much to do with tactics and more our underperformance. Admittedly they played defensively in midfield as playbreakers for 90 minutes knowing that they'd create enough with Suarez and Sterling to get a goal (or more) but we simply couldn't create anything with their pressing and, for yet another away game against a half decent side, Lambert wasn't any use and was isolated. At least he had the nous to try some long shots though. They're better than their league position suggests, but I wouldn't say many of our players were allowed to play well. We were as anaemic as our kit. The match is still getting repeated on LFCTV for those who want to relive it...
-
I think you mean the Navy Friends Provident sponsored one from 1999 that we drew 3-3 at Old Trafford in ? The Sanderson away kits were all either yellow, yellow and blue, white or ecru.
-
The image above also shows that we had a white away kit in 1987-89 (with black hummel chevrons all the way down the arm in a similar style to this one) : and in 1997/8 (Pony Sanderson with jade trim, also worn very infrequently). Oh, and the sash.
-
Found the yellow hummel (ironically posted on here in Feb 2011) and this shows that it USUALLY went with the black home shorts and socks - but the hideous white/jade collar suggests it was also worn with the white/jade/black shorts.
-
My mistake, there is some token jade trim on those white shorts : This wasn't much better : especially when we had another away kit with the same white shorts which didn't match :
-
Yeah, we had a yellow hummel away shirt, and the shorts for that were white with black trim - same shorts they're wearing in that video in fact. Think the socks were white - not sure if they're the white ones in the video, which have jade turnovers. Even that white kit against Liverpool mixes jade trim on shirt and socks with just black trim on the shorts. (Home kit had black shorts and socks that season).
-
I'm pretty sure I could take a random sample of pics from this and last season and prove it's barely if at all more evident this season compared to last as well, if only I could be ar5ed.
-
Nice clip, I actually own that, ugly jade trim.
-
In 2002/3 our home kit was stripes, black shorts, white socks. Away kit was yellow/blue/yellow, and the white/dark red/dark red was the third. We mixed a bit at Chelsea :
-
I saw it on a mate pre-season, the white of the shirt, the white of the aap3 logo, the white on the badge, the white on the Prem sleeve badge and the white on the edge of the shirt number are all different shades of white. It's horrible if you can't look past it.
-
Yes, 2002/3. It was fairly silly then as well, but we had three kits, they were all available to buy so none of them looked like an afterthought, and at least we weren't clashing with teams in the colours of our normal kit then. Plus, the rules were different so it HAD to be worn a certain number of times, which is not the case any more. I don't mind if they actually wear it due to daft rules, but launching it and never wearing it is just bloody silly. If they had any sense they'd have confirmed when we were going to wear it, and they could have pointlessly trotted it out with red shorts at Everton, Norwich, etc. The 2007-ish one was also one of 3 that we sold. It's only a stupid idea when about half the teams we face play in red or white or red and white and they don't bother to sell the kit we actually wear when we do clash.
-
We shall see, based on, well, everything in the last 3 years I'm sure they couldn't give a toss once they've got your money. Weirdly I don't own it yet, and I like it a billion times more than the red one which I did stump up for once I'd worked out we were rarely wearing the white one. Oh, and of course I have the yellow for wearing to away matches where the red kit actually clashes...
-
Hey ! What did I do to... Oh, you mean the advert.
-
My mates have suggested it might get an outing at Norwich, though I'm not quite sure which part of red and red clashes with yellow and green, and I'm sure the FA of Wales would like to be informed that their usual home and away colours clash with each other...
-
Bonus points for featuring Tadanari Lee in the white kit above, there's a combination to rival Halley's Comet.
-
I'm sure you all know already, we've mentioned previously on here that Liverpool away was the most likely opportunity for us to wear all white and it's on the preview on the OS - I just thought it was worth a thread of its own given that thousands of people (well, hundreds at least) will have forked out £42-£47 for the privilege of buying a shirt that's going to be used about once and seems to have been designed purely to make the red kit less unappealing on launch...

Pretty sure I made this argument in late July. No point in having a load of talent without someone to teach them the bits they don't know. Then when we signed Davis, I was a little concerned about his previous few seasons in the lightweight SPL, but it was at least tempered by the knowledge that he could pass some useful information on. I also made a point about experience being useful in split-second decision making, which might have been handy with all of the own goals we conceded and in some of the earlier matches (say, Wigan) where the opposition knew how to kill the game when we were behind, and in the meantime we have chucked away more points than anyone. Would be interested to see how we compare to West Ham in terms of experience, they have a lot of ex-Prem players and that seems to be the main difference at the moment, despite them not signing many and finishing behind us last season.
