Well you'll have to do better that "I think" to trump a link written at the time with the information I mentioned reported on it. The OS will probably have eradicated it from history as well...
-
As with getting promoted from League One, we probably had a number of contractual clauses to honour.

Cork has been a dreadful right back every single time I've ever seen him play there.

"YOU'RE OUR SECOND FAVOURITE CLUUUUUB" from turning them over at their place still makes me laugh. We have already done this topic though.

Baj might be interested...

I had one in 1990 if that's any help. Lasted me until 1994, when I managed to cover it in mould it in a damp wardrobe in my student hovel.

So far in 10 months with Virgin Media I think I've been broadbandless for a total of 6 days (one 4/5 day outage and one other), with a couple of hour outages on 3 or 4 other occasions. The Catchup and Recommendation-based TiVo options were down for the whole of the big broadband outage, but I could still play and record tv no problem.

I haven't yet gone through to anything other than the Swansea call centre, which I accept may be a step too far for some of you lot. The missus ringing them on a regular basis for her job, and playing the "I'm an employee" card means we don't have to worry about it much, skip past the delays for installation, got refunded when our broadband disappeared for 4 days a couple of weeks ago, etc. Oh, and thanks to Wurzel, yes, clicking "LEFT" on the remote takes you straight back to the previous recording without having to renavigate the "My Shows" menu. Deeeeeeeeelighted.

We have a Virgin landline basically because it comes with the tv and broadband, to say it's underused would be an understatement - only 3 people even know what the landline number is, my wife is one of them, and I'm neither of the other two. This makes caller display a tad on the useless side.

Yeah, I had Sky+ HD technically until 2010, though I didn't actually use it after July 2009. The blue button thing definitely wasn't there in 2008 which was the last time I used it regularly, and it's a bit crap having it on the favourites button anyway. But at least it's there now !

The other pen miss in the JPT was Papa Waigo : http://www1.skysports.com/football/live/match/128905/report

Clearly has never gone into any season as a player for a Prem team in any way likely to get relegated.
-
Interesting what he said about "having more points than matches played"; having 43 points gives you a better than 50% chance of staying up. Having 42 is around an 80% chance of relegation IIRC (can't find the URL right now). 39pts would be most likely doom.
-
When did they put that in ? I had Sky from 1995 to 2009 and they never had one !
-
But has Sky implemented a "Last channel" button yet ? Used to drive me insane.

VM TiVo records 3 simultaneously and you can watch anything you recorded earlier at the same time too. My 1Tb box currently has 30 HD movies on it, plus all my (60+) series links and still has about 5% free - plus it will autodelete the recommendations and then stuff that I haven't protected before starting on anything I might actually want - and of course you can rank all of your series links so when there's a clash the planner will work out which one you prefer. And there's a "soft delete" so when you get rid of something, if there's space it'll sit around in "deleted" for a while so you can recover it if you want.

Having had both in the last 4 years I can confirm that Virgin Media's TiVo (XL package) is much better - though I haven't had much experience with Sky since their updated planner recently. There are 3 glaring omissions from Virgin's service. 1) Sky Sports News, 3 and 4 in HD (SD only) 2) Sky Atlantic 3) Access to Sky Go The "remind" feature which was not present previously has now been added with the recent update to the VM box. There are 3D channels but that's just a gimmick anyway. Virgin Media's on demand services include loads of other services in addition to Sky Anytime (WBTV and a load of other OD channels), Catchup TV including the BBC iPlayer is integrated, the search feature is great, the automatic recommendations, thumbs up/down, general TiVo options and the much MUCH better Series Linking is also an improvement on the Sky service I used to have. Plus as the missus works for a Virgin partner, we get it cheap (except the Sports and Movies as Virgin can't discount those). Best of all, Virgin's remote has a "Last channel" button. Now if I can just work out how to get back to the recorded programme I was watching before going back to live tv, without having to renavigate to that specific bit of the menu again...

Just for the record, we had a South Wales fanbase in 2003, but I moved to Southampton in 2005/6. Cardiff City and Swansea's relative successes since have hoovered up the weak-willed in the interim.

Yeah, but everyone's saving themselves for the competitions we might win, like the League Cup game on Tuesday. Except me, I'm not going to that one, first match I've missed this season.
-
They're on their third stadium. They've started using smaller ones to manage expectations.
-
It's not nonsense, it makes perfect sense and is being supported by various others saying "internet streaming is affecting attendances". Which is a factor that few people considered significant in the lengthy and annoying discourse that ran throughout the summer between yourself and MLG. TBH given the cost and other priorities, I'll be considering my own ST if we're in the Prem next season if I know I can see every match for nowt live anyway.

You have to remember that some of the smaller-minded are waiting for an excuse to have a go at the police at the best of times, their mere presence is something they can't cope with, and they get all "help, I'm being oppressed" because they can't cope with the idea that they personally are not being accused of anything... I've always assumed this is because they're up to a load of stuff that makes them feel guilty, but who knows ? Heavy-handed policing certainly wouldn't help the matter, not that it sounds like there was any kind of problem in the first place. West Midlands Police have always been pretty heavy-handed at football policing to my recollection, except in that bit outside Molineux where they all disappear immediately when the shutters come down - but was it the spotters at the Alfred on Saturday ? The police presence generally was much higher than we've been used to for Saints matches in recent years and they may need a bit of practise.
-
Certainly seemed to be a ridiculously large police presence and a stand off "duelling chants" type situation outside the Alfred when I ambled past at around 2:15pm. Much more lairy than it usually is when there are away fans there. (As opposed to "much more lairy with away fans there than when they're not" which isn't what I'm saying). Even Varsity London Rd wasn't letting people in fluorescent green t-shirts in, though I assumed this was on the grounds of taste.
