I am also on page 86, can someone clarify how that works ?

Wow, there's some complete nonsense for you.

Teams changing colours by mixing in colours of the opposition's kit is one of the bugbears of mine about kit clashes. How can red/white/red vs white/red/white be less of a clash than red/white/red against white/white/white ? The team in all white will never pass to the team in red accidentally, the team in red will look for the red shirts or socks to pass to. If you mix both the colours as in the first instance, you get people getting a glimpse of the other colour and passing to the opposition. Worst kit clash I ever played in was yellow with blue sleeves/blue/yellow against blue/yellow stripes/blue/blue - it was an absolute nightmare and the ref told the home team to change their shirts after 10 minutes.
-
I've not yet got over Burnley and Saints both wearing white socks at Turf Moor last season - considering FIFA now have rules preventing the use of different coloured tape on socks to stop refs getting confused between the two teams you'd think that not wearing the same coloured socks would be a given. As it happens, Saints introduced alternate blue away socks for much of the rest of the season (and also wore the white away socks with the home kit in away matches against Watford and the Skates to avoid the red socks clashing).
-
You are incorrect, again. What I told you you were utterly wrong about was saying that the club had said (at any point, and they still haven't officially, yet) that the yellow kit would last for more than one season. You claimed that they told us on launch in 2011 that it would be for 2 seasons, and they didn't, they clearly launched it for 2011/12 only as detailed on the links I gave above. Note also the launch image below. Also, I said in the original kit thread that I expected us to use the yellow kit as a third one if we had a white away kit, but it made no sense that they were selling the yellow kit off cheaply if they were going to use it this season. As it happens, they have clearly decided to retain it for a second season DESPITE all of this, but we've also known that since they wore it at Bristol City with the Premier League numbers on the back IN BLUE, which meant that they'd actually got a load of numbers in especially for the kit - if it was a one off they'd have just used the black numbers on the away kit for that one. A bloke who works in the Megastore confirmed this to me on the night of the Bristol game and said they sold it off because they didn't expect people would want to buy a kit that was a year old. That still doesn't mean the club said it would be used this season, they didn't, and they still haven't. And FWIW, I've been watching Navy Prem numbers on eBay for about a month as I'm considering Premming-up last year's kit rather than buying this years aberration.

I suspect Bologna need to go back to their bank manager to check that they can accept our payment schedule for their loan, which may be why rumours of Saints adding a deadline are now coming into it.
-
...to the tune of Mmmbop.
-
They definitely managed to sign, play and sell Sulley Muntari at a profit whilst defaulting on numerous repayments to Udinese, I know that for sure as they were heftily mentioned on the original CVA list of football creditors. Not sure any of this is down to Saints as much as Bologna needing to repay a loan they haven't taken out yet. Apparently.

Man City Away Tickets-When Are They On Sale For Season Ticket Holders...!?!
The9 replied to dannysfc's topic in The Saints
Thing is, if those spaces had been at the back of the top tier they'd have been hardly visible, same problem at St Mary's, Block 43 is right behind the goal and usually looks empty because it's often the last block on sale or segregation. -

Match ticket £49 Ticket Tax £1.50 7 Seater Car Hire and Petrol for 6 people there and back £30 (frankly a bargain) Food on the way up £2.50 (meal deal sarnie!!!) Alco-ma-hol £10 (bottles of beer from the fridge and a small round) Programme £3 Food going back £7 (KFC/Burger etc) Certainly £100-ish for me, and there were two of us going from my house. That's with negligible food and drink costs as well, and pretty cheap transport as we split everything 6 ways. -
Top 3 most mental goal celebrations at a Saints Game

Yeah, the Waigo equaliser nearly made my list but missed out because it was "only" the JPT... even if we did end up winning it ! -

This also sums it up nicely. -

I prefer it the way they do it. Nothing until the signing is complete. Not sure why people have to be so impatient, if you want to deal in rumours and speculation there are plenty of places to do that. I'd rather the club devoted their energies to actually producing results on the field than keeping the needy informed (which is not to say they couldn't do both, but they don't need to and arguably it's better that they don't). -
Just to stir the pot a little, I didn't see any empty seats in the home end of the Etihad and it was widely reported as having sold out. Dunno where all our floaters are, maybe the last 7 years have persuaded them to do more interesting things and we haven't got the take-up from the 7 years' worth of younger fans who've found their independence in the mean time because they don't care about non-Prem football and haven't discovered it's worth going to yet ?

Me neither, same for all 6 of the people I attended with. I quite enjoyed our chorus of "we're only here for the Arsenal" after they read out the attendance on Sunday at the Etihad. -
Also interested to note the 5 loans are being wasted on one month deals... then it'll be begging time again probably. I'm hoping the FL say the kids who played in the League Cup count as senior players now, they didn't last year but they wouldn't pick any of them at all then - this was a FL competition - if not the League.

http://www.friendsreunited.com/portsmouth-a-villa-dispute/Memory/f0245f8b-9e0e-4a4b-af7d-a009011f7720 That's your 1997-1999 kit, a little bit more recent. So you're serial offenders - and there was a Sheff Utd fan who attacked a lino at Fratton in 1998 as well. Not the most secure place to go, really should shut it down... 3rd Jan 1998, just looked it up. There's a picture so you can tell us if that's your mate too.

We can give him a squad number, that doesn't really mean anything. We might not be able to name him in our 23 man squad though. And I say 23 man squad because you have to name 3 goalkeepers as part of the 25, and as we have 2 under 21 GKs we can only name at most 23 over-21s in our squad. "Clubs cannot name more than 17 non home grown players aged over 21" will not be a problem for us, but as I can't be bothered to work through checking how many are U21s and how many are home grown, I'm not going to be able to give you an answer on whether our 3rd choice LB will make the squad. However, as he's been playing with the Dev Squad and doesn't currently have a squad number, and 2 of the other 3 senior pros in that situation are now out on loan, that would tell its own story.

Italian League window closes at 7pm on 31st, ours doesn't close until 11pm that night. That, at least, is in our favour : http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/features/european-transfer-deadline-dates-in-full.html

Buttner deal was already in the process of dying on 10 July, that's more like 6 weeks than a month ago...
-
I am very sure. None of them were still there by then so it's not like we were stuck with their contracts...
-
As usual, he's ahead of schedule, we're already getting "mugged off" by a South American. Never mind Champions League, Global tri-language transfers with 3rd party ownership are the World Club Championship of transfer dealings. And to labour the analogy, I'm surprised Penarol didn't kick seven shades out of him for our Liverpool kit.
-
CD presumably being "Club Deportivo". Right, so as it stands, from what I've seen, Penarol have confirmed they've agreed their bit (thus writing off their part-ownership) but Bologna, last we heard, were angling for a different payment plan to the one we offered, wanting a lump sum of about 10 of the €15m up front and we weren't prepared to pay that much that soon. Is that where we are ? Still ?
-
No way could Ramirez fill the legacy of his number 10 shirt. Too much pressure. "Can you do the McCann shuffle, Gaston ?" "Que?" "Tiptoe frantically on both feet with the ball stationary between your legs and watch Stephane Henchoz laugh as he takes the ball off you".
-
But if Ramirez was staying, they'd certainly be trumpeting it as a Bologna coup already. Of course he could yet end up somewhere else, but I've got no more to go on with that than I have that we're still trying to sign him. Hence waiting to see what happens without getting in a massive frenzy about it. It'll happen, or it won't.
