Trouble with Savage is he's always been a ball-chaser, which is great if he can run for 90 minutes harrassing midfielders but not a lot of use if you're trying to work out who to mark as his midfield partner. I suspect as he's got older he's stopped chasing around like an idiot so much and may now be more suited to a team game. Can't say, as I haven't seen him play (other than for Derby in one match last season) since 2005.

They could give them out for free to the scores of people who almost certainly have shirts with the £4 "commemorative" print peeling off it after one wash... and for once I've actually seen one of them, rather than just assuming the only people with stuff peeling off their shirts have teenage hod-carrying kids who wear the things for 8 months at a time and wash them in gravel. A friend of mine's now states : Johnstone's P ophy 28th Ma ch 2010 Wem ey Stad m after one regular wash and being hung on the line.

Says Swindon at the Dell in the 90s up there somewhere ^^^^. As Oxford were well below our level (and miraculously still are even now) by then, and I know Swindon had a lame Brazilesque away kit in their season in the sun (1994) I'm inclined to go with the Swindon suggestion, but it could just as well have been Arsenal or Man U or Torquay and I have absolutely no ITK assistance on this.

It doesn't matter much anyway - being the "third party" means you come second a lot, and as you don't get seats for second place in the "First Past The Post" electoral system a lot of that support actually doesn't count for anything in terms of the number of MPs. It's the main reason why the Lib Dems support Proportional Representation, because they'd get a shedload more MPs using it. In 1983 the SDP/Liberal Alliance got 25% of the vote with Labour getting 27%. Alliance got 3.5% of the seats, Labour got 32% of the seats. Not exactly "representative"...

The definition in the Race Relations Act is "wrong" actually. Ignoring that you're talking about racial discrimination not racism per se, racism is by definition based on race. It can't be based on anything else or it would be called that something else-ism, and there would also be no need for definitions like national identity, xenophobia, ethnicity etc to exist, as they're not all the same thing, despite that being implied by the Race Relations Act meting out the same punishment for all things of that nature under the catch-all. No shock that it adopts the broadest possible definition of racial discrimination given the high likelihood that people would try to challenge a tighter categorisation of their personal motives in court to escape punishment. Hating (for instance) Peruvians might be equally onerous as racism, and based on the usual level of ignorance about the culure, and stereotypes, just as racism is - it might even be justifiable to make a crime from acting out of hatred for characteristics associated with being from a particular country, but it doesn't make "Peruvian" a race, it's still a nationality based on the borders of a state. As for this quiz, it's either badly written, biased towards the minority parties, or just designed to dupe the stupid into thinking they should vote a particular way. Either that or most innernet Saints forum users aren't representative of the electorate (or they're lying).

So at least they're being consistent.

Have you tried becoming a footballer ? You'd get in for free then.

I didn't go to Carlisle cos I didn't want to waste £100 on a train and an entire day. Orient clashed with my grandad's funeral. MK (and shortly Bristol Rov) in the league cos I'd already been there in the Cup. Charlton cos I was on a stag do. Exeter cos its nearer where I used to live and shouldn't take that long to go that far. Stockport because I was visiting a sick relative. Southend or Brighton because it was a bloody silly kick off time on a daft day (and been to Brighton before). Leeds because I was going away for Christmas the next day. Millwall, Brentford, Yeovil (coming up) and Norwich just cos I've been before. Oldham because I couldn't be bothered and it was a bit far. Will be going to Gillingham (new ground for me) and haven't missed a home match this season apart from Brentford on Aug 22 when I was at V Festival for the weekend. Went to all the JPT and FA Cup matches home and away.

Certainly from personal experience after a ligament injury I found that taping your ankles provided increased support but somewhat restricted the range of movement, so it's probable that if he'd taped the lower half of his body he'd have been unable to fashion such a preposterous slice into his own net. Can't say it would have improved his penalties though.

Yes, but the impact of his revolutionary "not needing to learn to kick a ball properly" coaching on Rasiak was much needed.
-
That's boorish, and it's "small town in Palace" apparently !

Coincidentally, the back-pass masters of the 1980s Liverpool haven't won a League title since. You mean you missed out on all the tweaks to the rules on keepers holding the ball, bouncing it after a number of steps, then dropping and dribbling the ball and picking it back up, then being allowed to take one step backwards whilst holding the ball and all that stuff that went on before the backpass and 6 second rule came in ? It was great fun watching keepers trying to remember what they were allowed to do in the early matches of some seasons in the 70s and 80s...

To be fair Antonio didn't join us until 3 years after Woodward left.
-
Messi's a year older, and more importantly for his chances of getting in a Champions League side, a lot better.

Well, at least Huddersfield aren't exactly playing well : Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark told BBC Radio Leeds: "You said I've got a big grin - I think it's more of an embarrassed smile, because we've won two-nil, and it's all about winning but God only knows how. "That was if not our worst home performance then up there with them, without a shadow of a doubt. "It was flat, we didn't do many things right, if anything, but we scored two goals and maybe could have got a couple more. But we've got to make sure the players are aware that we've got to perform better than that." (Not that we did any better against Orient though).

Judging by his tapeless efforts at Cheltenham, I'd say more tape = greater Antonio. Having revealed his secret, I also fully expect him to make his substitute appearances for the rest of the season dressed like this :
-
People will ignore it and still sing "reds", just as they still chant "YELLOWS" when we play in navy shirts this season.
-
Ah to hell with it... Here's Antonio playing for Cheltenham last season, saggy socks all over the shop, most unlike his Saints appearances Here he is with Reading, tape making its way up his leg God only knows what's going on here, but he's mastered the skill of turning over the white tops of his Saints socks and pulling them as far down as possible to maximise the white area at the top. I think he's also got hold of some red tape too : He truly is the white tape wrapmaster, turnovers half way down and tape half way up, hiding the hoops altogether : And here's the proof - less impressively white-wrapped socks with a bit of red poking out : Meanwhile, in the real world...

You and me both. Bloody stupid style over substance, same thing with Puma's lettering at the last World Cup.
-
You said this yesterday and I still think you're talking a bunch of arse.
-
We had 6'7½" Peter Crouch playing for us, FFS.

What it is is that when we were a Prem side we signed a load of Academy players who were Championship standard. I hardly think the contributions of Williamson, Best or McGoldrick have had much impact on their teams' promotion challenging seasons, and we can't say much for our effect on Guthrie's career, when he was only borderline Prem near-relegation standard at Bolton the season after he left. No-one's lauding the successes of Craig Richards, Jake Thomson, Ollie Lancashire, Josh Dutton-Black, Totti or Jacinto Ela Eyene, so I assume the fact there are just a lot of ex-Saints players from the last 7 seasons probably has more to do with it.
