  1. Barnsley have spent more time in the championship than any other club. It's not that much of a push for them to have a good season and make the playoffs. Luton were in the Conference not too long ago
  2. What you have to add is "and have you thoroughly researched the managerial market, and put out feelers to prospective candidates so that you know the likes of Benitez/Gallardo are interested in coming here?"
  3. I really want him to succeed now everyone's so certain we'll be relegated. I voted unsure because although I'm not confident enough to say I actively want him appointed, he's clearly got something about him. Getting Luton to the playoffs is an incredible achievement, let's be honest
  4. He has apparently admitted he tried to change things too quickly at Stoke and should have focused on getting results to begin with
  5. There were rumours he had a drink problem, feel asleep in the changing room etc, so potentially more then just bring scruffy and overweight
  6. I'm concerned by the appointment but I'm also surprised how sure people are that Jones will be a failure. Howe failed at Burnley so Jones' time at Stoke shouldn't discount him. Strachan is another example of someone who fans were sceptical about but turned out to be good
  7. No one accused you of that, he just wanted to know who they are
  8. Another god botherer!
  9. Speaking personally I could see the potential of Poch based on his time at Espanyol. By contrast I am rather worried about Jones although not completely writing him off like a lot of people seem to be. It's his style of play that's my main worry, doesn't sound very sophisticated
  10. Adkins had money whereas Jones has done similar with nothing
  11. https://themastermindsite.com/2022/04/29/nathan-jones-luton-town-tactical-analysis/ Some fans on here will loving this. Get it up to the big man!
  12. I'm sure we've been in touch
  13. It also serves to keep the players' confidence up if there is a realistic expectation that they won't win every game
  14. It's become accepted fact that his legs had gone but was he not just burnt out like the rest of the team after a long season of Ralph ball?
  15. He scored more than a goal every three games for Burnley. That's decent at our level. Che, by comparison, has a goal every five games for us. I don't know if he's past it now but you'd think with his style of play he'd be able to carry on well into his 30s
  16. With Wolves deciding to keep their caretaker manager having considered bringing back Nuno, I wonder if there simply aren't any good enough managers available the moment, so we're sticking with what we know for now
  17. Great movement or poor defending for the goal? He certainly left his man for dead
  18. I agree we're on course for relegation as it stands. The only consolations we can take is that Lavia will be back soon and the board was willing to spend big on a striker in the summer and may do so in Jan. Plus a new manager might help
  19. Even when Ralph took over he seemed unimpressed and like he thought we should have stuck with Hughes
  20. Bruce tends to do well for a season or so and then drop off - I'd take him here if we needed a short term fix but we're probably not in that situation
  21. Do you know why it went wrong for him in his second season?
  22. We tried for Delap, Broja and Gakpo. I for one can't think of any other high quality strikers who we could have got but didn't
  23. We tried to mix it in a higher fee bracket this summer and ended up getting gazumped by Leeds. More valuable players are more in demand and therefore harder to secure
  24. I don't think we thought we could make do, we just couldn't secure anyone of the quality we wanted. There's no point throwing big money at someone like Brereton Diaz when they're not going to be any better than what we've got
