  1. Repost for your benefit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6975536.stm "A Conservative government would match Labour's projected public spending totals for the next three years, shadow chancellor George Osborne has said. He pledged two years of 2% increases. The final year total would be reviewed." And Whitey G, the Tories started banking deregulation in 1986. Nigel Lawson has argued that the seeds of the financial crisis began with the "big bang" deregulation of the City in 1986: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Bang_(financial_markets)#Consequences Yes New Labour continued it but if you think a Conservative government would not have done the same in order to stay "competitive" with similar reforms in the US, then you are living in dreamland.
  2. Everyone was at it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6975536.stm "A Conservative government would match Labour's projected public spending totals for the next three years, shadow chancellor George Osborne has said.He pledged two years of 2% increases. 3. I'm calling bull**** on that one. Long has natural pace and stamina that many pro footballers don't have. It's harder than it looks
  4. Zlatan has done it in major leagues across Europe. Pelle's failure to score goals anywhere other than Holland meant there had to be question marks. Fair play to Pelle, he is doing the business in the premier league so far. Looks like he may just be a late developer and we have a real find
  5. I agree he's done a good job so far. But let's not compare him to Lawrie Mac is all I'm saying. You surely can't deny that there was an ethos of hard work and a slick passing game already in place? Yes there was work to be done to rebuild the squad and he plus the board did a good job of it.
  6. There has been some player changes and he has modified the tactics a little, but he still joined a healthy club with a passing ethos embedded at all levels
  7. The depth in our squad now is very exciting however
  8. Very early to judge Koeman. Remember Laudrup had a whole season where he looked good before it all fell apart. Fairly easy to build on someone else's success, a different job to maintain it for several years. Agree he looks promising but his managerial record is fairly mixed
  9. Everyone saying he's a winger but a lot of his goals seem to come from classic striker positions. I wonder if he will convert at some stage
  10. Please read the Spirit Level
  11. My local butcher is great. One of the benefits of living in London is it still has small shops that haven't been closed out by the soulless chains
  12. The fee depends how long they have left on contract, how much the player wants to move and how much the club wants to sell
  13. I think it's a mistake to try to argue that there isn't fault on both sides. But the Israelis have killed far more civilians, are illegally occupying territory and are keeping the Palestinians in state of poverty with their economic blockade. Whereas the Palestinians have fired rockets in order to protest at the above
  14. He doesn't seem to have the movement to allow his team mates to make chances for him. The one where Foster was out of his goal and Bertrand crossed - he made no space for himself
  15. Tadic is so good, Pelle is so bad
  16. It was noticeable when Foster was out of his goal and Bertrand did that cross that Pelle had failed to lose his marker
  17. We're certainly not afraid to play it long these days
  18. The basic problem always comes back to economics. In ireland, unrest and terrorism came from the poor areas where catholics were being treated badly. Now we have a situation where palestinians are being kept in abject poverty by the Israeli blockade and aren't allowed to build an economy. If people have more material comforts then it's easier to forget about religion, land and hatred and just enjoy life. The Israelis are terrified of having a strong Palestine on their borders, but the current situation will do nothing to stop the rockets being fired into their territory.
  19. Israel's brute force is playing into Hamas' hands, international opinion is turning

    Gazza

He has bipolar disorder which is corrupting his brain and therefore his decisions. I think he's a good person at heart, as everyone who knew him in his younger days seems to emphasise. I don't blame him for the bad stuff because everything he does is a result of the mental illness, even when he has refused treatment (which is speculation on your part). Unfortunately I don't think he will ever get better, but he deserves sympathy because I don't think he is happy at all, no matter what he does to fight the depression, and probably never will be

He has serious mental health problems
  22. By questioning my assertion, you yourself are making an assertion. It's amusing that you are unable to understand that
  23. So neither of us has a valid opinion. Game over
