I don't understand the signing. We had Manning and signed Taylor. Why then sign Wellington, meaning we had three left backs, unless they expected Manning to depart in January?

I went to that game. It put me off going to similar early round vs smaller team type games. Everyone was sat down in the Itchen stand, there was no atmosphere and it felt like a wasted afternoon to be honest.

You'd think Juric would want to see him play to know if he is in his plans for next season. I guess Charles being out on loan means he will play games and Juric or whoeever can watch those games to assess him.

We also have Taylor and Larios, so simply on a numbers basis, too many players at left back for a Championship side to be paying. CB stockpiling is even worse of course, although if we are now always playing three at the back a little less so.

The only reason he signs for us, is if no one else in the Prem fancies him. If that is the case - when he is availabe for free - then a low release clause won't be of much point.

The Swansea lad was their reserve keeper. Vigouroux has been their first choice.

Got to say that the difference in style and tactics isn't terribly obvious to me. Our press is just as easy to play through. I don't see us getting particularly tight or putting defenders under much pressure. Perhaps we did today, but Swansea reserve defenders just are not good enough to play it out from the back. I see our keeper going long a bit more often, a few less triangle passes to try to work the ball out and retain possession and in the West Ham game we crossed the ball first time, but other than that? It's early days, so I am not moaning here, but I doubt there are not many that watched the Brentford game that are going to agree that we have improved a great deal.

Lots of Prem v Prem 4th round ties which will get a rid of a few. Nice.

too good for mid table championship sides that leave four key players out, not good enough for the Premiership! Great to win. A cup run is most welcome.

Juric keeps playing him. Maybe we wont loan him out after all unless a requirement to buy is included in the deal.

Swansea are the ideal opposition for us. They play the same way as us, make similar mistakes and have similar weaknesses. If we could play them every week we'd win the Championship.

Swansea are quite literally just a shitter version of us. Put them under any pressure when trying to pass it out from the back and they lose it.
