  1. the rules have changed since then though haven't they? Pretty sure if we were struggling we'd use the rues to our advantage now.
  2. Pearson dropped him (team captain) for the first time to the bench for the last game and explained it as `tactical, rather than injury based'. Only two teams have conceded more goals than Bristol City (37 goals in 24 games) in the Championship. They conceded two more without him though. He's half way through a four year contract, so unlikely to be a contract issue. Was their player of the season in 20/21.
  3. wow. Forster getting praised on here for making touch now. The dislike of McCarthy has reached new heights.
  4. Nice balanced post. For all Long's failings, its hard not to appreciate his effort. Perfect game and scenario for him.
  5. good man/woman. I find that if the expectation is you will be at the football every week, there isn't a problem, it's when you suddenly want to go to football instead of seeing the inlaws that you get it in the neck. Let's hope you continue to bring us good luck. Wolves look very solid indeed these days. A point would be decent.
  6. get this man a home and away season ticket
  7. it's interesting that down to ten men, attacking players like Redmond seemed more than happy, and capable, of tucking into defensive positions. Redmond played left back really when he came on. Perhaps we need to see a little more that when we have 11 on the pitch and trying to hold on to a lead or a draw. A bit more digging in. Maybe it's a case of swallowing our pride a fraction and parking the bus a bit more. That said, if Spurs had scored (the offside goal/Forster's fuck up) all the digging in we did would have been forgotten. And perhaps previous games, where we have also dug in, but the luck has not gone our way have also been forgotten?
  8. Liverpool keeper, widely regarded as one of the best in the world, beaten near post. That's punishable by death on here. Come on Leicester.
  9. that's one hell of an endorsement for Perraud.
  10. I think you'll find there's a lot on here that felt KWP should be starting games ahead of Tino. KWP has been outstanding for two seasons in both attack and defence. Tino has looked equally good going forward, but defensively he has a lot to learn.
  11. No, I meant that, on what I have seen so far, he looks like a championship player and no more than that. But I'm not daft enough to write him off completely. Plenty of players, especially from oversees, need a season to find their feet. Leeds signed Firpo in the summer and he hasn't done much either.
  12. if he comes good and starts to tear up the league next season, you won't find a happier person than me. I want to see us with four quality fullbacks that the big sides all want to sign.
  13. Thought KWP had a great second half. He'd be my MOTM. Thought everyone put in an excellent shift. It was a good team performance. We hung in there, forced them to cross a lot of balls in that we dealt with well.
  14. Yes you are right. I guess it interrupts the flow of things, but fresh legs for last ten minutes makes much more sense to me.
  15. in contrast, there was a nice move in the second half down the left and he turned in one of the worst crosses I've seen in a long while when we had players in the box. A right footer kicking with his swinger would have done better.
  16. Good that Romeu is fit to go. I'd of sacrificed the time wasting sub for some fresh legs earlier.
  17. Fight yes, but that's a bare minimum expected really, its the lack of real quality I am concerned about. He ain't terribly quick, which is a worry. Not sure his first touch, dribbling or crossing is Premier League level. I did see one or two nice balls down the line for the winger to run on to. That is encouraging. Maybe he just needs time to find his feet. Ralph clearly ain't been impressed either, hence he cant get a game. I'd love him to shine as a left footed is needed, but I just don't see a top quality player there at the moment.
  18. fair enough. Not sure why he couldn't make both subs. He only made two all game in the end.
  19. When we win, I point out stuff that is not good (and may cost us on another occasion) and when we lose I point out stuff that is good (that may help us win dow the line).
  20. I do disagree. The saves he made were not super hard. McCarthy makes all of them. I didn't see the defence's confidence rise when he was glued to his line instead of coming and claiming and over hit through ball that KWP had to hack away for a throw that put us back under pressure. Forster made a massive fuck up with the dropped cross, but luckily got away with it. Did that instil more confidence?
  21. in what way? I saw a `championship at best' type player out there today. He battled hard, as did them all, but he's not particularly great at any facet of the game. Am I being too harsh?
  22. is CB more suited to his laid back style?
  23. we hung on well, but it could easily have gone another way as it has so many other times. The header KWP won against Kane was very unexpected. I thought that was THE chance they were looking for. Fantastic header to win. Made me think of all those Cedric back post nightmare goals we used to concede.
  24. Thought Broja ought to have been brought on a little earlier. He looked sharp and obviously everyone knows he is our best option. Also thought Romeu should have been on for the last ten minutes. I guess Ralph knows better than I how fit our subs are, but JWP needed to come off and fresh legs brought on. It's a mute point now I suppose.
  25. Forster would have deserved to get murdered on here. What a woeful bit of keeping. He is absolutely shite when coming for crosses.
