Many of the locals are starting to ask questions abut Disney and the lack of progress relating to the new stadium. The idea that development would be held up over a bridge is seen as a very lame excuse and as a result some think that raises doubt about Eisner's intentions. Three years in they wonder if they would be any worse off if they hadn't sold up.
-
They built a new bridge there about 18 months ago. They won't be building another for a once fortnightly occasion.
-
Levy would argue that the CL run papered over the cracks and they have been very average for almost a year now. They did spend in the summer, but the side has got worse, not better.

What a surprise, Network Rail has said "on your bike" so I guess it's all off. Who'd of guessed?

https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/why-fratton-station-threatens-to-delay-portsmouth-s-fratton-park-redevelopment-1-9143131 "We intend to redevelop the stadium including a new Milton End, creating a 30k capacity venue if: 1. We can buy all 35 properties on Alverstone Road (a max of 6 bought to date) 2. We get support/approval from other householders affected by building a new stand 3. Network rail spends millions on Fratton Station 4. Someone spends millions turning the Rodney Road industrial park into something less of an eyesore 5. FTSE 100 companies agree to buy corporate boxes in the new Milton End stand (if you build it they will come) 6. We keep councillor Donna Jones in our pocket by employing her as stadium development consultant (no conflict of interest there at all...no sir) 7. We manage to get ourselves out of the third division 8. Global warming is reversed 9. Oil is discovered in the small section of car park between Tesco and the Fratton End 10. Brexit is a success for everyone in the UK 11. World peace is declared 12. Oh I forgot. When we find the maker of a real tardice so that we can increase the capacity of the Milton end AND add corporate boxes without making the stand any higher.

previously we sold our good players and replaced them with bang average. Now we sell our bang average and don't even replace them.
-
say what?

We badly need a midfielder like Lemina with the ability to actually get about the pitch. I know things came to a head and he had to leave, but the way Saints managers have treated him, Boufal and Gambiadini in recent years is criminal. All three have had the ability we needed, but have not been trusted or shown the faith that would have IMO allowed them to blossom. Remove talent from a squad and you are left with mediocrity that doesn't have the ability to move the ball and create chances.

svensson didn't play a match, Dodd only 4, Oakley only 7. It's not really fair to include them. Claus was past his best (as was Dodd).
-
Niemi Dodd Svensson Claus Bertrand FF Oakley Rednapp Djenpo Camara Crouch
-
yeah, but we will replace them with worse. With the side being so **** at passing and controlling the football, maybe we need a bit of Long, then we can smash it down the channels, turn teams around and at least gt the ball in their final third. Jesus, thats how bad it has got. I am calling for long ball and Long. Kill me now.
-
an injured Svensson still gets in on one leg. Thats a terrible side you gave made there. Terrible.
-
Camara walks into that side. ****ing electric.
-
jump across to the contracts thread. Boy is it depressing reading. Not a single player that you think, ****, not long before he's out of contract, hope we can tie him down for longer...plenty that we are stuck with for years to come though.

I thought exactly that last season before Ralf turned things around. It feels like we are repeating Sunderland path to relegation, surviving for two seasons, continuing to buy tosh players and suffering previous poor signings before crashing out of the league in the third season of struggle.
-
good analysis. I am all for keeping possession, but we struggle to do that. If you don't have top class players throughout the side that can retain the ball then you need to get it to those that can or change the style/methodology. The way we are playing five at the back is not working.
-
he certainly doesn't seem to have the answer, but does anyone? I don't see a top class keeper, or any CB or CM at the club good enough. There is a little bit of flair out wide, but the strikers are not top class. The youth players around the first team squad don't improve us. We could be doing better, but this side is not strong.
-
did you go to any of the Saints West Ham games at St Marys when he was there? Crikey. They were dreadful. There was no attempt to play at all. Nudder. If smashing the ball into outer space at every opportunity is classified as functional then I'd prefer disfunctional thanks.
-
spot on. Ralf doesn't seem to have a clue what his best 11 is. He makes so many changes every week. How are players ever going to find form, confidence and an understanding? I know why he went five at the back (with four we shipped goals), but Koeman had it right, tighten the ship with five against the top sides, then move back to a four against the rest.
-
I say what i see, and that's how bad we were in the first half. Thankfully we have improved tenfold in the second half. Come on now Saints lets get after them. Boufal, messed about by every single manager we had had should be playing every week even if he goes through a lean spell.
-
we don't know what we are doing. Not a ****ing clue. No plan, no shape, no idea. I think we loo worse than ever. Two games of 11 men behind the ball has drained the last bit of forward play out of us. I cant see how we are going to score never mind win a game.
-
we look beaten. Confidence is shot to pieces. We don't even look a minor threat on the break. Desperate.
-
We get a throw in, take ages to take it, then Cedric throws it waste height to Vestagaard ,who just volleys it aimlessly up the park to no one, with possession instantly turned over. What a complete load of ****ing ****. We are struggling to do absolutely anything well right now, even the complete basics of the game. We give the ball away so cheaply its not true. We want to play a short passing game, but we simply are not good enough to do it.

12-1 on southend to win tonight. A must win game for Kenny J perhaps...blast I jinxed it.

love of flat fish apart, we have plenty in common
