shame they only allow 800 away fans

"Don't get the excitement"? You've been to the derby games right? The atmosphere is on a completely different level to all other games. This is the biggest game we play. win this game and its been a ****ing great season.
-
I'd be surprised if it wasn't a bubble game. The previous two games were. We'll get the whole of the Milton end, probably with the end sections kept empty, a shed load of the usual away fans will give it a wide berth and its live on SKY TV. Because of that I think it might even go to general sale (registered on the db of course).

Selling the white away kit in club shop. Sponsor logos in place... for now. Good luck if you wash it.

every season its the same against Burnley, we dominate possession for 45 minutes to an hour, make them look like a championship side...and then they step it up, we get bullied and they score. Our heads go down, our game plan goes out the window and we all wonder what the **** just happened.

I am surprised we brought anyone in to be honest, considering how tightly our hands were tied by the size of our squad and other clubs reluctance to take our deadwood on inflated wages. Great to get rid of some of that deadwood and to move on from players that simply were not good enough, but we really need a few more out the door and then to perform well so as to attract a fee. Time will tell on the signings. Fingers crossed Adams finds his feet at this level and starts to cause opponents a few problems. If he can stretch teams like Long does, but offer better finishing then that will change us big style. Great to get another shot at the CB position. Danso looks a more mobile than Vestergaard, but then again who isn't. We really need to move to four at the back, but that relies on having capable CBs (and cover in front of them). I feel enthused. Still nervous as to how the season will go, but feels like we are in better shape than we were. Lots of other teams can say the same though.

you don't think Austin was on fortune here? West Ham shirked at £100k a week. A tiny transfer fee meant he'd have been on a massive wages. Or did you mean that we probably had to pay him a massive pay off to leave and earn less at WBA, thus reducing the saving we made by offloading him?
-
are they working? Looked a bit dark. Perhaps they are still waiting for the Clarke money to pay the bill.
-
I think those of us that went to Fulham away last season certainly questioned his application. Only one game mind.
-
a men. I read a post asking where Bournemouths money comes from. It comes from not wasting it on Carillo and £100k-a-week-Austin etc.

there's not been a lot to shout about other than Bertie in recent seasons, who is absolutely top class by the way and I have repeatedly told anyone that would listen after questioning his signing due to a poor loan spell at Villa. I did suggest Redmond on a HCDAJFU before anyone had ever heard of him and he's a player I enjoy watching. Anyone that can beat a man all hands up should be appreciated even if the end product is suspect, which includes Boufal. I like Ings, even if it was a poor signing IMO. Oh and Valery. He looks like he will be a proper player. . There a long list of players I am not a big fan of, shortened slightly by the departure of Targett, so I can understand why my positive comments may have got lost amongst them
-
it pays to break transfer records first, because as soon as you do the market shifts and you end up spending fortunes on players that aren't the best around. Buy VVD now and he'd be worth £150m never mind £70m. All of which doesn't help us as we have none to sell (that anyone wants) but holes to fill, that will now cost us a fortune.

Personally I'm not all that impressed by him. He is pretty slow and average in the air. His distribution and ability on the ball is not all that. He's committed and willing to chuck himself in front of things, which is great and his positional play isn't too bad, but because we've played five at the back so often he's hardly ever been exposed. Until we have two top quality CBs and midfielders in front pf them we will continue to ship goals or have to play five at the back, which limits our ability to dominate midfields.
-
Whenever I have seen him, which isn't a lot to be fair, I actually didn't think he was that bad. Nice touch, reasonably composed and a decent passer. He didn't seem to have much of an engine. I am trying to think of the games he started, Newcastle or City at home and he faded badly after only about 50 minutes. He's certainly not a pacey winger, with tricks and crosses. He's not an all action dominating midfielder either. I guess the question is, what is he? A luxury? The difficult situation he came into hasn't helped him to be fair. That Hughes side was woeful. Obviously he was part of it, but if you have a side that is playing well its a lot easier to settle in and show what you can do. He's another that hasn't had a huge run of games, although Hughes gave him plenty of opportunities. Ralph clearly doesn't rate him, so that's the end of that.
-
he played bloody well there too.
-
A little gutted he joined those ****s. John was a bit of a legend at Donny. I've watched him a fair bit over the last few years and he's a decent player at that level and I thought a championship club would sign him this summer. Ran the skates ragged a few times, so no surprise they have bought him. Hopefully he will be be as effective as he was at Millwall. Losing Lowe will hurt them. He was a bit if gem.
-
agreed. He is a little injury prone, but United have something like 7 CBs so not exactly short of cover should it be required. Maguire is massively overrated.
-
disappointing, but utterly predictable. The only way to shift these guys is to pay a big chunk of their wages, like City did with Adebayor. Extremely painful to do that, but players wont leave for lower wages, and other clubs (without the riches of the Premier TV deals) are not going to match the wages. If we have three or four senior pros that can't even be part of the 25 player squad, then we may as well pay half or maybe even more of their wages. Better than paying 100%. I am guessing interested teams are waiting until last minute to squeeze every last penny from us.
-
Tremendous underrated player, already with lots of Premiership and Spanish top flight experience, just coming into his prime and now interesting the likes of Ajax and AC Milan.
-
widely reported that he refused to warm up during the game against Chelsea. Hughes went spare after the game and made him train with the kids.
-
the bookies had him on a list, not sure the club did.

if you believe the Mirror then he is on £10k a week at Saints. Birmingham paid him £18k a week, plus a £1.2m loan fee to Saints. Red****s Birmingham also paid £200k fee to the agent to broker the deal. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/birmingham-eye-watering-striker-loan-11060633 if you believe the Daily Mail then he is on £22k a week at Saints. Birmingham paid him £30k a week, plus a £1m+ loan fee to Saints. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4816874/Southampton-ace-Sam-Gallagher-pay-rise-Birmingham-loan.html if you believe HITC then he is on £24k a week https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/07/15/report-southamptons-sam-gallagher-wanted-by-sheffield-united-and/ if you believe Sportrac he earns £40k a week https://www.spotrac.com/epl/southampton-f.c/payroll/

half decent left back cover. Better than Targett anyway.
