No reason why the club could not continue, without running up a debt, simply by operating with a below average wage bill. The long and short of it is, in the hope of progression through the leagues it looks like many are willing to give up on fan ownership, no, give up on having any input into the running of the club completely. It's being painted like there is no choice. There is, but it will be a lot easier for fans to decide to chase the dream if it feels like there was no other way out. If Eisener puts in £10m as he has 'indicated', that will cover the stadium safety funds needed and the 'competitive' wages for a few seasons in league 1, but what will cover the wages shortfall in the championship? Would it not be better to attempt to live within you means, build a team and wait for the debt laden championship sides to implode?

That would be JRods agent doing his job - drumming up interest in his client by putting stories of interest into the papers.
-
Classie. The kind of lightweight midfield mediocrity that a team with a wage bill as big as ours shouldn't have to accept.
-
the Wanyama/Morgan days of midfield domination seem such a long time ago now. We are desperately in need of some help for Romeu. Davis, Classie, JWP and Hoj just do not enable us to control a game without flooding the midfield and leave us short offensively.

Are POL users mostly shareholders? If so I'm slightly surprised they are willing to give up the fan ownership at the first sign of a stadium repair bill. I thought their was great pride in being different? Is an extra million quid a year to keep **** park safe really too much of a chunk out of the playing budget to swallow?

indicated is such a beautifully vague term. Eisner could actually end up acquiring the club for just £5670. That buy now pay later deal doesn't half feel like one that a chancer would put together. Are The skates sure they are dealing with the actual Eisner here and not some look a like without a pot to **** in?
-
Yep. Old age creeping in.
-
So he values them at £5.67m. Wonder how many will go for the money back option now and how many will wait ten years for a payment that might be less, might be more.
-
So the move to Titchfield is still a possibility, but West of Dibbets corner is safe.

If really haven't made my mind up about Puel, but I do ask myself, with the players available to him, would another manager have done any better or any worse?
-
was that with Wanyana and VVD (and dare I say it Pele helping out at set pieces) in the side? There is more to defending than just having decent centre halves. For example, we give the ball away too cheaply, which invites pressure, which eventually tells. Without the likes of Pele, Wanyama and VVD we also have become a small side which also does have an effect, especially at set pieces. That said I am not 100% convinced by Stephens. He looks very comfortable on the ball and has the pace, but I'd like to see a little more physicality and dominance. No idea what Caceres is like, so not going to join the get him in the side bandwagon. The time Stephens is getting now could pay dividends next season though.

they acquired 16 Anson Road on a long lease recently, would that be it?

If Disney falls through, I wonder if they will go cap in hand to the council again for a loan?
-
The PST has 2426 shareholders, who collectively own 48.48%. If Mr Disney's offer was just to pay all the PFC shareholders back (including the Presidents) what they paid for the club it would cost him £5,004,125. However, I suspect the shareholders would expect to receive more than they invested.
-
depends on the size of the holding of the two in question. Three of the Presidents only own about 1.2% each, another three about 2.5% each - nowhere near enough to block a buyout should the rest, including the PST, accept Mr Disney's offer. Mind you if Moth, Kirk, McInnes and Partridge don't fancy it, then that changes things.

what is it with these clowns

Luke Shaw's stalled development. What does it say about our academy?
Chez replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
...you've got the beginnings of the worst Saints five-a-side team ever there. Add in my friend Powell and maybe Ian Andrews in nets and you've got all bases covered. -

can I just leave Stephen O'Halloran here? Thanks. -
who? McCant? Pretty sure we paid him off/cancelled his contract by mutual agreement.

the groans and moans Steve Baker got he got every time his name was announced after that terrible derby performance weren't from any new breed either

good post. Both show glimpses of real talent, but neither are anywhere near finished articles. Up to manager, coaches and player to ensure they progress and not fade away.
-
which is more than enough to block any sale, which requires 75% of the shareholders to vote for it. Either Eisener accepts the cuffs or the sell now or go bust story needs to get ramped up.
-
86% of PST want to retain a share of ownership of the club, which with Eisener wanting to be released from the handcuffs could be a problem. http://www.pompeytrust.com/news/pst-shareholders-and-members-survey-results

Bagpuss' first game is the Vile away. Sadsack can become an instant legend with the Zulus. Hopefully the **** loses all three games but they survive anyway.

Shed load of UKIP votes up for grabs I suspect.
