Talk****e is so frustrating. A radio channel almost exclusively about football could not be a better idea, yet they still somehow manage to completely **** it up with their boring format, same guests, same questions, annoying self righteous presenters and not stop betting plugs. Said it several times that I just don't see Howe joining us, but if he did I'd like to say that I like his style of football, I like how he presents himself and I like the job he has done. Would he have the respect of our big ego players and could he demand respect from players we want to bring in? I don't know and for me that is the only concern. I could not care less that he hasn't got European experience. There are loads of managers that do, but so what. It's six games. Doing well in the prem is how the next manager will be judged, not Thursday night football.

Some rewriting of history going on here with claims that the club would have sacked him if he didn't sign a new contract. What a complete load of rubbish. Knowing he was off we would have got our ducks lined up and if there was a 'Pellagrini dead duck' effect, causing the team to lose a lot of games we may have pulled the plug at that point, but not a chance we would have sacked him this summer. Everton coming in for him now may have been a blessing as we avoid that situation of him turning down a contract and us being in limbo. We will never know.

Quite frankly the job he has done at Brum is phenomenal. When he joined, their squad was woeful and he had buttons to improve it. I had them as dead certs for relegation but they never looked even remotely like they would. They have kicked on and that is testament to his ability. I guess there are too many question marks for him to get our job, are those skills transferable to a premiership side, can he inspire the current players and can he attract other decent players when he gets here.

Where did you hear that? I ask because I put his name out there on Friday, mostly because I get 24/7 info from my Zulu supporting best mate and so couldn't resist suggesting him (I doubt anyone would have even mentioned him otherwise) and what do you know a few days later it becomes a rumour that the club likes him. The inter web is a wonderful thing.

How on earth did we get them to fork out £5m when he is only paid £2.5m a year? Footballers can buy themselves out of their contracts once in the last year (for the amount they would have been paid), you'd think managers would be able to do that as well. As I said at the weekend, it will drag out for a while not for any other reason than these things do actually take a bit of time. They always did, its just that now a days we hear much earlier about the possibility that something might happen.

Questions for our Everton fans. Is the £100m mentioned in the press just fees alone or wages too? Why has the new investor only bought 49% of the shares? I'm sure there is a good reason, but that feels a little small time. Do you expect Stones and Lukaku to now stay?

I would expect it will drag out for some time, with saints needing to be well set in their next step before agreeing to anything.
