  1. I think my point was made clearly and precisely in the earlier post. The colours and design are shyte IMO. I don't really like Adidas kits in general and IMO the club should get a unique design. In the post you have quoted and where I have inserted photos I was merely pointing out that if we have to have this design couldn't a better combination of colours be selected. I have struggled to find a worse pair - in fact all the ones I have shown are better than the green/blue. Obviously the points I have made are my views and they differ from yours, but that is allowed you know.
  2. I would say this was exactly the reason (plus some other decent showing for us when Arsenal scouts no doubt attended) - he tore them apart that night.
  3. I have no problem with no yellow/blue away kits either. I absolutely loved the Umbro white pin stripe kit and still think that is the best kit we have ever had, but this latest away kit is shyte both in design and colour. I agree with Lostboys, a yellow and blue version of this design would look better. Could another colour combination look worse? 2014 this is from 2012! 2013 Our version looks like one of the `we are the champions tv show team colours'
  4. I don't like it at all. Personally I'm not a fan of the sash. It's a Crystal Palace thing in my eyes. The 125 year kit was fine, but the use here isn't anything to do with our history, its all to do with Adidas and them wanting to get their bog standard designs on the backs of professional players. I have to say the combination of colours are drab and green kits in general just don't work for me. Plymouth, fine, the rest should leave the colour to keepers (enjoyed the fact our keepers returned to green this year - even if the badge was treated exceptionally badly on them). Actually I especially hate the way the club badge is treated here too. Going for a montone colour scheme makes it disappear into the blandness of the shirt and dare I say it cheapens it. With these drab colours you need `accent colours and features (badge, addidas logo) to lift the ordinariness of the shirt in much the same way the gold items on the Championship promotion shirt did to great effect. I see this as just another generic Adidas kit, but in `our' colours, not that they are even that. I know its been done to death with the home shirt, but I would expect something designed exclusively for Saints not simply a shirt to promote Adidas' club kits. The current away strip is much better than this. If I'm honest I really don't like Adidas kits. Their `bar chart' style badge is naff - they should return the old one, the three stripe branding makes everything so,...oh I don't know, rigid and conformist? In general I prefer the Nike kits, they feel much more exclusive and original, and they tend to use their branding in a much more delicate way. Adidas just ram the three stripes down your throat. I'm sure there will be a counter argument here, but that's my perception. All just my opinion of course. I wouldn't ever buy one of these things, but I do like my club to be seen in the highest regard, be that performance on the pitch, treatment of fans or even design of shirt. This shirt let's the side down fractionally, but I won't lose sleep over it.
  5. or if unavailable, Council leader Donna kebab Jones is perfectly placed to fill that red and white swimsuit...right up to its breaking point. Donna is the svelt number on the right
  6. is he quick and can he defend?
  7. dockyard strikes and everything in here http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/business/local-business/spinnaker-tower-deal-pompey-fan-s-open-letter-to-emirates-boss-sir-tim-clark-1-6784574?WT.mc_id=Outbrain_text&obref=obinsite
  8. You and the 9 both seem to fail to grasp that genuine saints fans that perhaps go to five home games a year, a mixture of cat a, b and c now have to pay £25 more than they did last season to have a chance of getting that cat a ticket. Oh well never mind, if they are genuine saints football mugs they won't care about paying more.

    Brand Value

Yeah being sponsored by a great local employer is crap, let's get one of those offshore betting companies, a legalised loan shark or some other tax dodging multinational, much better.
  10. A sizeable number of saints fans go to the odd game you know. Bloody parasites...
  11. Whats the point of having my side compete at the top table of it's too ****ing expensive to watch the bloody games? I presume you want CL football so bad that you're having your wages paid straight into the clubs bank account?
  12. Who said anything about only going to one game? I could go to lots of cat C and B games, but when the cat A goes on sale I will be behind those that have forked out £25 for a membership and perhaps haven't been to any games all season? Tell me how that is fair? I repeat, if you are a non season ticket holder and you want to have any chance of going to a cat A game it will now cost you an extra £25.
  13. I would love to see the look on Kenny Dalglish's face when nik nak asks him to pay for his match ticket, not to mention the reaction of fans when their next home kit is red and white stripes.
  14. So if you are not a season ticket holder, but want to have any chance of going to a cat A game you need to spend an extra £25 for the pleasure. Sounds great.
  15. Soul selling at its best. You have to feel for the Tory council having to cope with those cuts to funding. **** me do the mock ups make it look tacky. I suspect the final paint job will just have the Emirates logo on, as perhaps was always planned.
  16. I can't see Shane Long ever being part of formidable strike force.
  17. not sure it's that cut and dry, but the old smoke and fire thing is not often wrong.
  18. yes, I realised that, and they ****ed the UEFA cup up that year too as well, but the fact remains they got into the CL places. My point is, will gradual slow growth ever get us into the top four, or do you spot a batch of players at your club that are top notch and run with them for a few years in a genuine effort to get into those top four places, even for one season. I'm realistic. We are unlikely to make that jump and stay there unless a mega money splash the cash type takes over. But making it once, well I'd be more than pleased with that (it would be amazing) and the players we have had over the last two years might have been enough to do it. But we avoided offering the £100k a week to keep Shaw and Lallana and perhaps that window has closed. Maybe not. Nice to chat about looking upwards for once. I dare say it won't be long before we are worrying about the other end of the table. Enjoy it whilst it lasts.
  19. he looked bloody good when he tore us apart playing for Swindon at SMS. The timing was all wrong for us to ever try and get him, but on that display alone I'd be interested. He has a strikers arrogance and ability to go with it. Very similar player to Pelle. Maybe that's a good thing. Stronger squad, but someone's nose would be put out of joint.
  20. Rodriguez tended to play on the left, with Ricky down the middle. So Rodriguez will effectively replace Elia. He along with Mane, Tadic and Long will fight it out for the two wide spots. Maybe Pelle and Austin fight it out for the central role? Having said that I think Long IS the backup for Pelle, but Ronny was happy to play Pelle every week. You have to wonder if we are actually in for another Striker? If we add another, then maybe someone has to go. You can't hoard players if you want youngsters to come through. That said I don't see the current batch of attacking youngster being anywhere near good enough to make the step up yet.
  21. Everton qualified for the CL. They obviously have the honours and the history to be classed as a bigger side than Saints, I won't dispute that, but in financial terms, are they much bigger than us these days? The TV money defines how rich a club is unless they have a billionaire owner throwing money at the problem. We seem to be on a similar level. So I guess the question should be, how did Everton do it?
  22. And that's why I differ from doddisalegends view. He will be in demand, from all four top English clubs and I suspect all four have chatted with his agent to see how the land lies. Where I agree with dod is whether they will meet our fee which should and could be huge.
  23. It should have said 'why wouldn't he'. Bloody shoddy typing on my part. Of course he will go. Other clubs can offer much much more money than us, more trophies and titles and of course fame. But it doesn't mean I have to like it.
  24. If think it is fair to say Wanyama won't be here until the end his career, unless it end abruptly. Feel free to quote this should things pan out differently.
  25. So **** local people off by helping a new Tesco threaten local livelihoods and now **** people off by taking their public park away. Those £1000 shares were worth every penny.
