I just don't understand how I can find a radio channel dedicated almost completely to football impossible to listen to. How do they **** it up so badly?

CORTESE - a personal and factual view of why Ms Liebherr was right.
Chez replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Probably, but as I have said on here, it's only really forum users that actually analyse what a **** cortese might have been, the common or garden fan just cares about the results, which have been great, and cortese must take his share of the praise for them. Hence no reluctance from some to sing his ****ty song. -
The fella in the middle reminds me of nick frost's character in Sean of the dead, having become a zombie at the end of the movie. I wonder if the fella second from right has worked out what you do with those stick shaped items yet? The scene as a whole reminds me of one of a last minute float entries at titchfield carnival in the 1980s.

Cortese intends to return as chairman of another Premier League club - Ashton

I thought he resigned. Why would we have to pay him compensation? -

You wouldn't catch me singing that song during our best moments never mind now. Each to their own. -

Talking of which is nick illingsworth allowed back in the ground these days? How Cortese treated him was disgusting and the point at which I could not give a toss if Cortese was our chairman or not. -

And by the same accord, Le tiss group apart, i think it was behind keyboards where his biggest detractors could be found too. Fans that just go to games simply do not give a toss about all these things we discuss, they just care about seeing us win on a Saturday. Each to their own, but I like the soap opera intrinsically analysed detail of it all on here. -
Maybe Katarina has better plans for the club than NC had
Chez replied to berkshiresaint's topic in The Saints
Strange then that there are reports of her offering him the earth to stay at SFC. If they didn't get on surely she would just look for a replacement at the first hint of trouble -

Sounds to me as though Markus spent a wedge saving a loss making company, but it continued to make losses over the course of the next 12 months, so when given the task of running the company KL did what any owner would do and reduced staff overheads. The time frame is a little unclear from that text, so possibly everything was KLs fault, but possibly it was just a company that could. Not be turned around. Maybe it needed Cortese in charge, but then again wasn't he on the Mali board up until October last year? -
Mauricio Pochettino staying as Southampton manager - Official
Chez replied to Ashley Grute's topic in The Saints
With a year left of his contract wouldn't he have assessed things whether cortese was here or not? I should imagine cortese had informed him they would start discussions about a new contract in the summer rather than let it wind down. -

And no saints fan ever worked in Portsmouth ever? Why anyone would want celebrate in seeing so many honest working people lose their jobs, which is why this position has been created, is beyond me. Stick to the football. -
That figure sOunds a fraction on the high side. If it is accurate, it makes me think about when Lowe was slated left right and centre for earning less than £400,000. KL could do a lot worse than trying to steal Hew Jenkins from Swansea, who was earning £200,000 a year a while back.

Funny, I was looking from my seat in the Kingsland last week at the number of empty boxes opposite me and thought about the period under Lowe which, from my poor memory, saw them pretty much all sold out during our previous time in the top flight. Perhaps the total income is actually higher now than it was then through much higher prices, I don't know, but it made me wonder as to who set the pricing and why they are not all sold out. Lowe's hands were tied by the listing on so many things, but when it came to his customers, be they sponsors, box holders or season tickets holders he treated them well from my recollection. Having said that perhaps the lack box holders is just down to the economic situation we are in! -
Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed

I've never been a fan, but it's just a bit early to conclude his exit hasn't had a negative or indeed positive impact. The milk still being taken in isn't comprehensive evidence that this isn't a turning point of some sort (good or bad). -
Lots of people have bought a business from their boss and undertaken the purchase whilst still being an employee. What is different here? Just another rumour...

Wonder if the bad press obtained through the Cortese/MLT/Benai spat came to the attention of the Liebherrs?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25755711 "The players bought into his vision, wholeheartedly. So much so, that at least one leading Southampton player has a clause in his contract that links his own future to Cortese's." how do you know that? -
MP won't resign and he will say that players are going nowhere. In a week a new CEO will be announced and this supposed `meltdown' will be put to bed. In the summer Shaw will leave for a world record fee, but it won't have anything to do with Cortese leaving. He was just tapped up, offered a once in a lifetime contract and there won't be a thing anyone could have done. We'll draw on Saturday, it will rain tonight and the lottery numbers are...

she looks like the kind of football club owner that can oversee a rise from league 1 to the top half of the premiership. -

Cortese couldn't prevent the Ox leaving and he wouldn't be able to prevent Shaw leaving either. Today has changed nothing regarding Shaw's lomg term future at the club IMO. -

If KL sells up I hope the incoming person is the sort capable of overseeing a rise from joint bottom of league 1 to 8th in the Prem.
