  1. They beat in form Newcastle in their last league game. That's more than enough for me to be concerned, never mind how they took us apart the last time we played them at SMS. We will need to be at our best to win. I thought we shaded the game at their place, but a draw would probably have been fair. Malumbu was the class act in that game. They looked decent in midfield, but really short up front. Angelka was poor. Sessingnon and berahino have improved their options greatly. I think a 2-2 draw.
  2. Buy and buy as early in your life as possible even if it means being skint for many years. Houses are not being built and the population is increasing. Prices will go up.
  3. He was poor in that game, but to be fair he was playing at left back.
  4. Birmingham went down to the third tier and the owners stuck with them, reinvested and brought them back up through the leagues. Much bigger debt this time round. As was the case when west ham were in championship last, the owners can't take the club into admin as the debt is to them, so it's them that lose out. gold and Sullivan simply have no choice but to ride out the storm no matter what happens.
  5. I've never rated him at all. To be fair he has had some decent games and is far from terrible, but overall I would say that his positional play is average, his distribution is terrible, he doesn't get tight, doesn't win enough in the air and he is not terribly quick. I've watched japan quite a lot and he is their weak link IMO. I am more than happy to have him as a squad player, how many sides have top class centre backs sitting on the bench? He can and will do a job, but if he left it wouldn't worry me so long as we turn to the scout who suggested Lovren not forren.
  6. it's been fascinating to see opinions about Puncheon change on this forum as it was Schneiderlin before him. It will be equally interesting to see how Ramirez does going forward and whether the gash tag sticks forever.
  7. Top work Jessica, but they announced it to the world in the summer http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/article/pompey-to-train-on-university-pitches-881242.aspx
  8. Are you trying to suggest Adam asked in a polite, calm manner? Come on, do me a favour. He was screaming at him like all footballers that think they have been robbed of a decision. Clattenberg responded with a put down and that should have been the end of it. If someone starts screaming at you, there is every likelihood that you'd tell them to pipe down and suggest they had become a big time Charlie. It's human nature to respond in that way not bite your tongue. The only thing that is wrong here is that Adam also got a yellow card, so clattenberg seemingly got his tuppenceworth in and then booked Adam as well. One or the other but not both seems fair.
  9. A premiership footballer is stopped by the police, perhaps for speeding. The footballer says "what the **** have you stopped me for." I would imagine any self respecting copper would jump at the chance to reply "pipe down sonny, your England call up carries no weight here." Should the copper then expect to receive an official complaint for his quip?
  10. a million miles from a harmless comment like "you've changed since playing for England". That quite frankly is not abuse in any shape or form, it's a decent come back after Lallana most likely gave him a mouthful for not awarding a penalty.
  11. I agree with you on this. I missed it at the time, but the way Saints fan were going on about it on here I thought it must have been a stick on pen, but when I saw the animated gif file it was as you say 50/50. I also agree with this. The only thing that muddies the water is that Lallana got a yellow.
  12. Even if it was the latter, Adam and the club should have manned up instead of crying to the governing body.
  13. Pathetic attempt to discredit clattenberg, who simply made a decision we didn't like. I can fully understand Adam moaning about it at the time, but clattenbergs put down is little more than banter. The complaint makes Adam look like the big time Charlie that clattenberg had suggested.
  14. See no reason why we should not put our strongest side out. But we won't. The fa cup is what a mid table prem side should go all out to win. It's the best chance we've had since 2003...
  15. My concern would be getting some slow or past it left back to replace him like we did when le Saux came in for bridge. At first glance we appeared to have filled the slot with experience, but the reality was that we had taken a huge backwards step.
  16. Love the cup, have gone to all fa cup games home and away for about 20 years, but a half empty stadium, poor atmosphere, reserve team line up and ridiculous premiership ticket prices have made me apathetic. Sad really but I'll be giving it a miss and saving my wedge for an away game instead. Perhaps if fans weren't bleed dry in the prem they'd have a few spare bob to go to cup games.
  17. Just as with Lowe before him it will be completely out of his hands. If the player wants the move it will happen. Other than paying him more than Chelsea what exactly can a chairman do? It won't happen in this window, but the summer will be a different story with evra and cole on their way.
  18. Can't see it. Boric not far off returning and Davis has looked solid. Gazza and Davis both have another year after this on their contracts. Both will have decent contracts, so will sit tight.
  19. He has looked too small and weak in the air every times I have seen him.
  20. Injured
  21. Refs get pens wrong too, sending the keeper off as well is punishing them twice too. I am all for red cards for diving. If the reef sees it then why not?
  22. I like the cut of your jib sir. Young has cried wolf too many times. Glad it has come home to roost.
  23. Wonder if that dive was the moment when something snapped in souness head and he became the psychopath we all know?
