  1. If you wish hard enough maybe it will come true? If Yoshida makes more tomorrow will you cut Jos some slack?
  2. expect a beauty of a kit for that lot.
  3. could not agree more. Brian Moore struggles to get his head round many of the scrum infringements spotted by refs so how can joe public know what's going on? Would anyone really have bothered going to see Tonga vs Argentina or something similar anyway?
  4. I've not seen a lot of him to be fair, but in the game at SMS he was terrible, giving the ball away time after time. No where near the quality of a Mata. Perhaps that game wasn't indicative of how he normally plays. When I've seen him on the box he has been merely OK. Wiltshire is the stand out player at Arsenal. I guess Cazorla has scored goals and that tends to help wipe out sub standard performances in fans minds.
  5. the white kit we have now would be ideal. Much better than the red one we have.
  6. the thread title says dream, the OP says realistic. Not sure they fit well together. I think Callum McManaman looks decent.
  7. not easy for any player to come in and immediately be up to speed be that Richardson or Targett. Not playing every week can have a real detrimental effect to the pace of your game and your touch, although these guys are playing football in training every day I guess.
  8. Might be wise to bring the guy into the fold and then old super slueth might forget to do any sluething of the latest set of owners. Oh. Engagement manager must have been too good an offer to turn down. How many wedding receptions do they have in the Victory Suit by the way?
  9. how bad was he?
  10. It certainly is hard to slate fans favourites or defend whipping boys on here. Mayuka should have been that plan B, but for whaever reason he hasn't done it, yet. If the manager doesn't rate him then he needs to be swapped for someone that he does who can do that job. We neer hit teams on the break. I think that Morgan goal at Wigan was the first in years
  11. Villa at home in the second half he was as good as any player I've ever seen at SMS. Everton at home until he got injured he wasn't far short if that. Those two games stand out head and shoulders above the rest. He's been equally poor in other games, but for me he is a class act and given more time will shine for us. He has tremendous talent. He also has great pace when dribbling and a decent shot on his left foot, although it's not been on the money nearly enough. No idea why fans seem so desperate to write him off. Perhaps they have just become frustrated by his **** corners? Forget the transfer fee and wages chaps. I'm still more than happy with his transfer, there is massive potential there and if it clicks we might have another genius on our hands. Fingers crossed.
  12. did he move from midfield to attack at half time or vis versa in that game? The secind half was when he came into his own, I think (migjht be wrong) Morgan and Cork were all over him like a rash first half.
  13. must have missed that arguement. Lambert has games (not many I might add) where he is totally ineffective that's for sure. He doesn't jump, so when he comes up against monster centre backs that don't let him take the ideal starting position to win headers he can struggle to win those flick ons or bring the ball down and get us moving. When he doesn't play well we usually struggle. He's a quality ball player. Great touch and ability to link the play. Very Sherringham esq. My biggest criticism of him might be that he doesn't get into the danger area quite enough. That's probably because he's a midfielder at heart and not a natural striker. I worry what we would do if he got injured. Thankfully we haven't had that problem. To get the best out if him he we can't play long straight balls. This is what tends to happen when we run out of ideas like against Sunderland and QPR. This is usually because the midfielders are not doing enough.
  14. I didn't which was why I was bold enough to suggest him despite them conceding a hat ful. We've conceded the odd goal ourseles yet Clyne is seen as England quality by some on here. I can only judge Rose and what I saw at SMS and he was the stand out player in that game.
  15. I actully thought Fortune was equally good in that game. Great in the air, excellent hold up play too. Both offered real pace and power. I didn't notice Long at all. Their strikers were the complete opposite from ours. Serious huge athletes that bullied weak defenders. What worrid me was how lightweight Mayuka looked in comparison and he showed similar levels of rawness. If you are going to have a bobbler (like Lakaku possibly is) then you want him ti be a powerhouse that is greece lightening
  16. that's spot o n. Allow him to drop deep and uncontest balls to him and he runs the game. Follow him everwhere and challenge eery ball and he can struggle. I was amazed at how United gave him the freedom of the park. Ferdinand got bossed. Hope there are plenty of teams that fail to cotton on to how to handle him or we might have problems.
  17. That is terrible news. The players in that team feel like `my saints' if you know what I mean. I was 15 at the time and went to all the games and they all meant much more than they do now. Loved that side and the players in it including Mooro. That 89 side was perhaps the best Saints team I've seen and he played a big part of that. Monster headerer of the ball and hard as nails. Has any football had whiter legs than him? Not sure exactly how good a player he was. My memory is not great. Can anyone remind me. I recall he was not the most comfortable on the ball, but did the basics right. Decent in the air, perhaps not the quickest. Mean but quiet. A silent assisin perhaps? Love to hear a bit more from fans about the type of player he was. Very sad to hear. I am genuinely gutted and I don't ever get emotional about people I don't know.
  18. Is it when we play teams with two monster centre backs that attack the ball that Ricky struggles? Sunderland, QPR and WBA at our place are three examples where the CBs were ball winners. I recall him doing **** all against Cardiff last season and they had two massive CBs. If you throw in a big fullback or two to prevent Ricky peeling off to the back post perhaps that is his nemesis.
  19. his passsing was woeful as well. Several times they were in but he ****ed up the pass. Far from the complete player.
  20. Love to see him back and played where he should be played on the right side of a 4-4-2. He's absolutely perfect for that role.
  21. I'd like to add Loic Remy, Kone, Coutinho, Danny Rose and Steven Caulkner to my ever growing short list.
  22. centre backs played out wide tend to get made to look like mugs. Out of interest does Targett have pace?
  23. [longs goal] was down to Yoshida diving in and getting made to look a total mug by Lukaku. Fonte used to do that a lot in League 1 but got away with it. Who'd be a centre back these days? Are there 5 world class ones in the whole league?
  24. it will be interesting to see if Bale can outpace Morgan. Not seen a quicker central midfielder this season. I actually think Morgan will be able to stay with him. What a great battle that can be so long as don't leave Morgan exposed.
  25. I know we all think our wives are the best looking, but on this occasion ours really is. I don't see many central midfielders in the prem with his combination of strength, pace and ball control.
