  1. their pitch is like a ploughed field, or as Paul Jewell puts it, a joke of a pitch http://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/hull_city_s_joke_of_a_pitch_was_behind_my_team_selection_says_ipswich_town_boss_after_2_2_comeback_draw_1_1233655
  2. The appointed ref was Fred Graham - short-arsed useless blind idiot for 80 minutes of games. http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/Appointments/0,,10794~2642812,00.html The ref that gave the pens was Fred Graham - top bloke, great eyesight, brave, spot on fella. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17323938
  3. Kenny Jacket normally comes across very well in interviews, but he must have been gutted to concede two pens so late on so perhaps he can be forgiven for his comments. After seeing them again a few times I'm sure he'll start looking at his own players rather than the officials.
  4. another decent report, but it was the linesman that got injured and was `subbed' not the ref.
  5. got to go up, to keep the momentum and to keep the likes of Lallana and Shaw, but I am not looking forward to £40+ ticket prices. Those pointing to Norwich and Swansea should consider the plight of Derby County and others that have come up and quickly gone back down again. Not sure their experience of the Prem was quite as good. If we play like we have over the last few weeks we'd be slaughtered. Play like we did at the start if the season and we'd thrive.
  6. yeah, I should have said "at the time". Corrected my post. Not sure how I missed the handball, it was right in front of me,
  7. football, bloody hell. Not quite 99 champions league final, but somehow when the first pen went in you knew there'd be a chance for a winner and what do you know, a ref that has given us **** all all day long gives us two pens within a matter of minutes. Jesus the fans went mental, right up there with the 2 goal come back at Fulham from a few years back. So nice to shove it back down the Millwall fans throats, especially after the last minute cup defeat that some of us had to suffer. Not a good display today, far, far too many misplaced passes, too many long balls to no one and simple passes forcing the receiver to work very hard to control it. Richardson, Fox, Guly, Hammond and even Morgan were very much to blame. Lallana does so much good stuff but one or two to many eye of the needle balls for me. If he was Guly he'd have had fans all over him in the second half for giving it away when we were moving into good positions. We started well, but our defending was a little shoddy for thre goals and our quality was just not there when chasing the game. Didn't think either pens were pens at the time. I thought Ricky dived, possibly, but I was right behind the goal so I may not have had the best view. Didn't see the handball at all, but it was a very busy box. Look forward to seeing both incidents again. Handball pen certainly looks a pen from the pics. Davis - 7 - Didn't have too much to do, 2 shots 2 goals, and a decent save from Bouzza too. Richardson - 6 - Got forward initially, but that didn't last. Some poor passing, no lots of poor passing. Jos - 7 - Strong as ever, but we opened up for the first Fonte - 7 - Decent game, but the second goal required a CB to make a clearing header instead of a the limp header that we did. Not sure if it was Fonte, but it was **** Fox - 5 - Just after his best games to date he goes back to his hollywood ****e. Far too many passes straight into touch. Set pieces much better though. Chaplow - 4 - miles off the pace Morgan - 7 - Always tried to get the ball down and play, but not his best game. Went missing a little bit at times Hammond - 5 - Before the season started my concern was his lack of pace to cover the ground, it hasn't been a problem, but today it was. Second best throughout. Thought Cork should have come on. Adkins seems to have lost faith in him. Lallana - 6 - Great first half, dribbling, touch the works, garbage second. Guly - 6 - The usual mix bag, worked hard, but never he looked like he'd win a header, controlled it well, but then a short pass would be head height, held it up, but then stood still. Lambert - 8 - Decent penalties, Maik looked like Shilton 1990 world cup, old. Won his headers, good flick ons, almost a wondergoal. Just didn't have a partner to match him. Subs: De Ridder - 7 - Made an impact as he always does, started brightly but tailed off a bit as didnt get the ball too much out wide, but still a threat. Sharp - 5 - Didn't really have a major effect on the game. If I'm honest we had less threat up front than any point during the season. Not really an impact sub, but he did make the pass for the goal Cork spot on when he came on. Should have come on earlier
  8. interesting point and how I felt when they introduced a ticket tax on away games.
  9. never any spaces when I have come to buy a ticket during the week. All the club need to do is make the first hour free. Sad state of affairs when you have to pay for parking to buy a ticket. If you are happy with that then fine, but some of us don't like being taken for mugs.
  10. that's what many on here in the summer were saying. Encourage season ticket holders and you have them in the bag come what may, even with a lower income per game. But the club seemed to think they could make a lot more money through match by match purchases. I wonder if it has worked out as well as they thought? It probably has thanks to the amazing form of the side, but its been a shame not to see the stadium jam packed.
  11. Re Guthrie I should imagine his wages demands are pretty huge. If we are after a CM then Jordan Mutch offers the quality.
  12. it means you are downstairs (with me). I think we are one of the few sides that have ever taken both tiers. Certainly we haven't before. West Ham, Wolves and not too many others have I think. Stattos?
  13. As I understand it, and I might be wrong, that loan fee includes his wages. West Ham pay a flat sum to Pompey, his wages are then paid from the Pompey bank account and then anything extra is the fee to Pompey for his services. I'd be surprised if it was £400k (£33k a week over the next 12 weeks) plus his wages.
  14. It was a great way of getting an extra million out if West Ham so he's going for a second bite
  15. I've said all along we wuld get promoted and I'm not going to change my mind now. We have 5 of the bottom 7 teams, you have got to fancy our chances.
  16. Pretty sure our friend Micky Channon was well liked at the Eastern end of the M27 and he was loved at ours.
  17. fair old wedge of extra cash coming into the club then. Can't wait, if its half as good as Plymouth turned out to be its not to be missed.
  18. a Forest goal at Derby would be nice...
  19. never mind Donny, Hull away looks a very tough game
  20. perhaps some more muffins will work
  21. worth a try
  22. you mean promoted
  23. Poor decision by Sibley IMO. He really shouldn't be commenting on our friends down the M27. It lacks class. His twitter page might say opinions are his own, but he is well known as being the mouthpiece of the club and any view his puts out via his own twitter account reflects on the club. With that kind of role there is no clear separation between the view of the club and his own views. Within your own spere of business would you make comments about your competitor on twitter? Would you be allowed to? Storm in a teacup.

    Pearce

you've clearly seen him more than I, so I bow down to your better knowledge of his as a player, but weakening the skates helps us as we have to play them and 3 points are 3 points. Martin may do OK when called upon, but he is very one footed and gets in trouble when he find himself down the left hand side needing to clear the ball with his swinger, so a left sided centre back as cover wouldn't do us any harm. It matters little as I can't imagine he'd be coming here.
