Birch said it but I doubt he made it all up. He's not AA. http://www.pkf.co.uk/pkf/news/football_industry/portsmouth_administrator_confirms_club_can_play_in_league_one_next_season

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

I thought Zhirkov looked decent again. Chelsea certainly didn't get the best out of him but these guys are miles out of our league. The question is, are there players at the Euros that would be willing to come to us? Butland? -
that may be true, when faced with the option of PFA or Writers awards, but although these guys can play the game, many of them are clueless idiots (perhaps that's why so many mistakes are made when it come to scouting etc). Highlights programmes on the TV often dictate the winners IMO. Besides if you heard some interviews on talksport with players around the time of the awards you'd know that many can't be arsed to vote, some actually vote tactically and the whole process is about as important to them as the price of bread. That said, from the highlights shows I saw, Green had a very good season and he's far better than Bart, so I'm happy we are going in the right direction if we have made any sort of enquiry/offer. Doubt we are willing to spend what he could get at QPR. But they can't sign Foster and Green.
-
the PFA teams shouldn't be given much credence at all. For example a full back with a few flashy goals on TV tends to get many more votes than a fullback that is solid but unspectacular all season. That's why Whittingham made the team of the year and players like Morgan and Leigertwood were overlooked. Davis had that amazing game at Leeds which signed sealed and delivered his PFA spot if you ask me.
-
fair point. Personally I can't see us affording Green and the two you mention could be more likely. I suggested Butland earlier in the season and still think raiding brum makes a lot of sense as they need the cash big time and they have some real quality.
-
We need to look to bring in players that are better than we have already. Unless we just buy players from the lower leagues (which could well do) we'll more than likely have to raise the level of our highest earner.
-
hard to say who would join us and that includes Green, but how about Craig Gordon or Jussi Jääskeläinen, both out of contract.
-
as I posted above if you were originally owed £100,000 and now face getting just £400, then the concept of getting something rather than nothing has all but gone out the window. In that case you would be far more likely to vote based on principle and perhaps against Chinny just because he is blameable (unless of course Baker Tilly takes your vote).
-
Imagine if you were owed £100,000 before the first admin and had now just been offered the grand total of £400. I think you'd come up with a place they could shove their £400.
-
Can't the Trust top that £500,000 offer?

but then again in this `highlight of everything he did against Swansea' video you perhaps get a truer picture. He reminds me of de Ridder in this one, but with worse passing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oInCBB7WhEw I guess some days wingers look the nuts and in others things don't work out. -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhiGhqgDZ8c From that tiny video he looks like he is a very positive, direct runner with bags of pace. Maybe a little wayward with his passing but just the kind of player we need. -
doubt it, but our dealings with CP won't do us any harm should we want to take Clyne and Zaha off their hands.
-
if he is willing to go to Spain then he's willing to join any Prem side for the right length and size contract.
-
I thought he was poor in West Ham's relegation season, but he's bounced back and had a fantastic season this time round. He needs a change of scenery and we are a good club to offer it. Davis can't go on for ever and who knows if the pace of the Premiership will catch him out. Green fits our profile of low fee high wage. Massive improvement on Bart.

massive wages, but no transfer fee. Fits our profile. -
5 appearances and he gets an extra year? Don't think so.

they all feel like `our' type of signings these days. Add Zaha, Mutch and Davies in there and that would be a very good window. -

Swansea will be all over that one. I think they are trying for another year loan. -
why did we give Butterfield an extra year then?
