  1. you lot actually want the club to be honest and say "we are so hard up that we can't even afford Saga's wages at this point, so we are trying our hardest to offload him ASAP. Needless to say we don't want him cup tied or injured so he is not playing this weekend." Do that and Surman and Lallana's price comes down another £500,000. I know the accounts are out there but no need to advertise further our problems.
  2. his stay was only ever going to be brief
  3. At least JP is looking for a ballwinner. Exactly what we need if Killer is noever going to be fit. I wonder if there are any other Chelsea players available. Franco di Santo has been mentioned. "Saganowski COULD be coming back..." I think that tells you everything. The club is doing everything it possibly can to offload him.
  4. I don't want to go over the whole Saga arguement again, we both know where we stand on that one, but for me we are weak as **** at the back. Perry is too small and slow. He does a job, but he costs you goals from set peices due to his lack of height. Lancashire is work in progress. One day he will be a very good player but not for two or three seasons. James is the worst headerer of a ball I have seen in a long time, is slow and is still learning the role. Mills is short and reckless, I have no idea about Molyneux. They are our first choice back four - unless Killer breaks the cycle. Also there is next to no cover with no right back or CBs in waiting. Defenders are much higher priority than strikers IMO. Therefore if it means we can sign two big defenders on loan then I wouldn't blink twice at Saga going out again. In Patterson I think we have a player that can lead the line. I'd happily play BWP alongside him or Lallana/McGoldrick behind him. Much rather that than face watching Lancashire and Perry injured or not.
  5. some very uninspiring managers here: Jimmy Quinn Paul Jewell Paul Fairclough Colin Calderwood Gary McAllister Paul Ince Danny Wilson Roy Keane Alan Pardew Steve Holland Maurice Malpas Simon Davies Stan Ternent John Ward Aidy Boothroyd Iain Dowie Geraint Williams Lee Sinnott Alan Buckley Keith Downing Kevin Keegan Alan Curbishley Avram Grant Ian Holloway Dean Wilkins Luigi De Canio Richard Money Andy Ritchie Gary Peters Bobby Williamson Ian Brightwell Bryan Robson Chris Casper Lawrie Sanchez Steve Cotterill Steve Thompson Jon Schofield Peter Grant Willie Donachie John Gregory Martin Foyle Ronnie Jepson Neil McDonald Rob Kelly Scott Fitzgerald
  6. depends on your point of view, but Saga going out on loan again might annoy a few.
  7. lets hope so, perhaps then we will have some money available for a CB or two.
  8. but if Nick became manager tomorrow I'd expect him to have at least one or two non league targets that he thought could do a job for us.
  9. he was managing in Holland, when would he have got the chance to see Wotton and Holmes?
  10. a host of missed penalties ring a bell?
  11. why do we always seem to want a large squad. With emergency loans, the youth team and players that can cover different positions there is no need for so many players on the books. Kelvin Davis Tommy Forecast Bartosz Bialkowski Andrej Pernecky Chris Perry Wayne Thomas Michael Svensson Oliver Lancashire Jeffrey Imudia Michael Bryne Kyle Davies Joseph Mills Lee Molyneux Lloyd James Jamie Hatch Simon Gillett Oscar Gobern Paul Wotton Morgan Schneiderlin Anthony Pulis Andrew Surman Romain Gasmi Adam Lallana David McGoldrick Jason Euell Rudi Skacel Lee Holmes Jake Thomson Bradley Wright-Phillips Ryan Smith Kayne McLaggon Matthew Paterson Jamie White Marek Saganowski
  12. Saga and his large wages will return. There is no chance we will get stronger unless he goes again (or we sell Surman for mega money).
  13. we chose Wotton. Whoever made that decision wants shooting.
  14. I can fully understand the downgrading in terms of wages. Having Rasiak, Saga and John all of which are way out of our price range, on our books at the same time is quite frankly ludicrous. But there seems to have been very little thought into the balance of the squad. The only excuse for this can be the extremely rapid fall in attendances. However, bringing in Pekhart (when we had Patterson who looks a better player IMO) and then realising he was **** so having to sign Robertson (also extremely average) just has me wondering if anyone is actually thinking what the are doing.
  15. The quality of signings has been low, but in addition we have also signed players that are very similar to what we have already. Holmes is the exact same player as Skacel. Slow wingers. Skacel less inury prone. Pekhard - Patterson. Tall striker to lead the line. Patterson at least puts himself about. Dyer - Smith. Lightweight wingers that flatter to decieve. Dyer at least has pace. Forecast - Bart. No one really knows if either are any good. Gasmi - Lallana. Luxury players perhaps. Lallana looks a different level. we even replaced former expensive **** with other less expensive ****: Powell - Wotton Saga - Robertson Woeful transfer period if you ask me. If your budget is tiny then your scouting needs to be **** hot. Ours sucks.
  16. Why stop there? Lowe could have auctioned off the position getting people to pay Saints to be the manager.
  17. off to Brighton according to many on here a couple of weeks ago. Is that still the same?
  18. I'm amazed there wasn't at least one out of contract Dutch player we could have picked up based on a recommendation from JP.
  19. £1k a week bottler or £2k a week thief. The agony of choice.
  20. so what, this new loan still allows Chelsea to play Cork in the first team towards the end of the season if they want. Besides Cork is not a CB IMO.
  21. fair point, perhaps they should have cut their losses, but if he had rejoined Burnley for example and was tearing up the place we would have people on here moaning non stop. At present loaning him out is covering his wages, but with every new club the likelyhood that we get a fee reduces.
  22. in terms of numbers then we have BWP. Jesus what a poor squad we have to work with, JP has no chance.
  23. we only needed to match his previous contract to ensure we got a tribunal fee. Therefore if we didn't want him we have done just that. I would imagine his first pro contract was not massive.
  24. thank god. I just wonder if Cork has signed for Watford because it allows Chelsea to recall him at some point towards the end of the season. As Cork had already been loaned to us before, any new loan agreement with us would have to be till the end of the season with no recall.
  25. I am very surprised (and concerned) about this `move'. Cork must have been settled here, he was guarenteed first team football and we were playing a passing 4-3-3??? game. The only reason I could see for a move to Watford was the link wit the manager but for 5 months it hardly seems worth it - unless of course Watford intend to buy him in the summer (which we obviously can't afford to do). I hope we are not relying on Wotton to cover CB.
