  1. yep, the've just spent a wedge extending Shorey's loan. However Davies said in the summer that he wanted 6 attackers. If anyone is going to leave it would be Garner as he is struggling to get a game. DMG has failed to impress as well. Tyson on the other hand has played a lot. If we could get him it would be agreat signing, but I'd of thought there would be a queue of CCC sides wanting him should he be allowed to leave.
  2. how much exactly is saved by not having certain sections/stands open? I assume its a case of by reducing the match day capacity the number of stewards and police can be reduced. Is that what happens? Do we have stwards that only get work when crowds are over a set amount?
  3. that may be, but the Rio Ferdinand's of this world are very few and far between. Besides even he was chastised for a number of years at West Ham for making countless mistakes.
  4. no chance. Tyson started the other day and has played 20 odd times for them this season. Mousi has played a lot less but primarily because he had a bad injury at the start of the season. Both are young and Davies isn't going to thin his squad at this point in the season.
  5. as do those that come from the Isle of Wight.
  6. if say a bowling alley was built as part of this complex, Saints FC would not have owned it nor benefited financially so I don't see what difference it would have made. If you've been to the Reebock or the Madjeski stadium then you'd know how lucky we are to have got the stadium built in the city centre.
  7. if that's the case fair enough, but I didn't see that incident. In general when our midfield starts to tire its always Morgan that gets subbed and not Hammond. Once he goes off we stop doing the basics like bringing the ball down and keeping it. Someone like Wotton comes on, we don't get anywhere near enough pressure on the ball, we drop too deep and we give posession away cheaply. I'd say we would be better off keeping a tired Schneiderlin on until we find a suitable replacement.
  8. sometimes people like to make a last minute decision. keep the stubs and present them to the ticket office and you'll be OK.
  9. `a bit'! Absolutely no chance whatsoever. Half the Premiership would take him off Villa's hands never mind the CCC.
  10. St Ledger is homesick and doesn't want to go back, the ball is now in Boro's court as to whether they force him to come back for the second part of the deal. Preston are short of cash. They get bailed out every year by a rich benefactor, but they still need to sell.
  11. you've not seen him get to the byeline or just not seen him deliver a telling cross from that position?
  12. He's improved greatly on last season. I think he'd do a job in the ccc right now. Pardew needs to stop subbing him, we go to pieces when he goes off.
  13. very good post. Clearly Papa is more comfortable in the centre and I'm not worried about the offsides at all. If we release it earlier in midfield he won't be offside so often.
  14. as a striker or a right midfielder? At right midfield he has had quite a lot of decidedly quiet games. Leeds away for example he was a complete waste of space.
  15. A holding midfielder would allow Morgan to push on - which would be a good thing if you ask me. I always thought Gravesen was more of an attacking midfielder who people mistakenly thought was a holding midfielder. Carsley did that role at Everton.
  16. For me he looks a terrific ball player. Very comfortable on the ball. The problem is he is weak. If he can toughen up, get nasty and start to dominate the striker, even if means fouling him now and then, then he could turn out to be a decent centre back. I haven't written him off, but I think its going to take a year or so at least so let him stay there. He badly needs games. Centre backs invariably blossom late.
  17. Kaboul is their star man (and going places) along with O'Hara (on loan from Spurs). Boteng has had a decent season, but the three clubs in a season rule would prevent him moving anywhere I think. Hreiderssen, Brown and Tommy Smith are all pretty genuine and would certainly shine at our level. Slightly more realistic are Wiliamson and Webber who would do a great job, but again the three cub rule puts paid to that. In reality though these players are not going to drop down from the Prem to League 1 unless serious money is on the table, and as rich as we are, the owner has talked about running the club properly income=outgoings so they are not coming to us.
  18. I wonder if that someone was this guy http://www.thejc.com/sport/sport-news/25328/convicted-fraudster-help-pompey
  19. looks like Pompey's troubles are over, they have got a new man in to sort out their finances...http://www.thejc.com/sport/sport-news/25328/convicted-fraudster-help-pompey you just couldn't make it up.
  20. Keegan or Gary Speed?
  21. absolutely, who'd we have to hate? Besides I want revenge for the 4-1 drubbing before I die.
  22. which goes a long way to explain exactly why, despite selling Diarra and Johnson for a combined £37m, not to mention Crouch, Defoe etc, they are still in the ****. Having said that, Gaydamak really did **** them though over didn't he.
  23. couldn't the club have asked Webster to sight tight and wait for his wages, or is it more a case of the bank not extending the overdaft further thereby making the club insolvent?
