He didn't sign any contract we may have offered, I am guessing because our wages were too `sensible' . I just wonder what he had in mind (in terms of wage) back then, and what is likely now.
-
Maybe. But I'm not sure we will allow him to leave without a huge loan fee or a transfer fee similar to what we paid. Who would be willing to pay either of those right now? If we go up and he performs well in the Prem, he could be worth a lot more than we paid for him. I think the management see this, so won't be quick to cut their losses.

Yeah, that looks pretty full, but there is possibly a narrow block at the far side not being used, plus about 700 odd seats at the front netted off. According to this website: https://www.wfc.net/stadium.htm the Vicarage Road stand (where away fans go) holds 5796. Sir Elton John stand 3728. Rockery stand 6960 and Graham Taylor stand 5784. I suspect, as with Chesterfield, the capacity will be reduced to about 4000. Would be nice to get over 5000 tickets, if there was the demand. Decent draw. Winnable without fielding the likes of KWP.

If you have a slow build up play like we do, you need that genuine quality (touch and pass) in the final third and that's exactly what he seemed to offer before the illness. You can never have too many quality attacking players, so he'd be welcome with open arms. However, although he's not starting games or even getting a lot of minutes, he is on the bench for every single game. Prem sides usually only loan out players that aren't even getting on the bench, so I can't see that happening, sadly, but I've been wrong before...

Spurs in the new stadium may have been a little bit more appealing than Watford, but the `London' away games always seem to sell out. I was at the WHL game in 1990. What a day. Was the 9000 at nottarfkrap? I saw a small clip of the away game at Sheff Wednesday in the 6th round and that look like a huge following.

Likewise. He sure does. Good point, for the U18s, but didn't he let him go at the end of that season?
-
I think the whole end is about 5800 seats. Not sure we'd sell that many for a 4th round tie...

Dibling is a big solid lad. Bragg on the other hand looks like he might blow over if there is a strong wind.

I'm with you.

I'm with you. It's not just the presenters that are shit, it's the callers. They have nothing to say that is worth listening to.
-
if they buy him, they'd have to pay all of his wages. No chance of that. he ain't playing for us again. But only another 2.5 years of us paying him to play for someone else.
-
I wonder if you would be saying that if we were losing games? We're not, so my point is mute I guess.
-
you sure? I think Pete Mitchell suffered a terrible injury in a car crash and became a wheelchair basketball player before joining the cast of Corrie.

Agreed. the 606 show is something to be cherished, despite it being no where near as good as the original Danny Baker version. I have been listening to it on the way home from away games, like most of you no doubt, since those first shows in 1991. Since Savage joined, it's simply unlistenable IMO. I'd rather pull my own finger nails out with pliers than suffer two hours of him. Can't wait for the day they find someone else. Sutton is almost as bad. What a pair.

Ends any possibility of Che going there - not that there has been any genuine links. I mention them only because he is extremely well liked by Blades and of course the fact they need a new striker. Not sure what other options are available to Che. You wonder if he has missed the 'Prem' boat. Everton bought Beto and Wolves are flying with what they have, so possibly have moved on. I guess if they offload Kaladzic there might be a spot to fill.
-
Sure, but you can probably name the current championship clubs who can afford to pay 50% of his wages (£35k a week) on three fingers, Leicester, Leeds and us. Neither of those other sides will want a player that has struggled at our place. Realistically, I don't think anyone is taking him off Everton's hands next summer on a permanent deal. They'd have to pay him £70k a week (at least for the first year) to match his current contract and there is no reason for him to leave Everton to get less money. He'll sit tight earning £70k until the summer of 2025, allbeit he may go out on loan again. Hopefully he will stay and if called upon will show what he can really do.
-
Always thought he'd stay. Dyche doesn't want him back and there won't be too many other clubs that can afford his wages. The fact he ain't getting games is less important to Everton than having some of his wages off their books.
-
Who is buying him? Wolves? Sheff United?
-
Interesting. You would think a relegation clause would be an industry standard by now. It's not as though all clubs haven't seen the likes of Rodwell's wages putting a strain on a relegated side's finances. Stu is out of contract in the summer. No one is paying a fee for him or be willing to match his current contract, so he won't be departing in January. If we wanted to offload KWP, I'd of thought we would have done in the summer. Despite relatively little paper talk in the summer, I suspect many clubs would have enquired and been put off by our `high' valuation.

18 months left of his contract. No doubt his agent has asked about a new deal, so perfect time for there to be 'interest' from other parties.
-
In general, Prem players don't really push for loans to the Championship clubs. Besides, what he wants and what Bournemouth need are two different things.
-
I'm a fan, but he's not played a lot this season, but he has been in every match day squad and come off the bench in the last three games. Seems strange that Bournemouth are happy to loan him out.

we are also a team that often gets caught short badly on the break due to fullbacks leaving huge gaps and CBs not being able to fill in. Playing a Cb at fullback, much like Newcastle have done with Burn, and that guy not pushing on provides that little extra solidity/insurance. Norwich dropped very deep and played on the break. RM perhaps predicted it and felt having that three guys defensive defenders (with Manning still pushing on) might be a good idea.
-
They only got out of their own half about twice in the first 45 minutes The only real danger was when KWP went to sleep for a freekick and they could have scored. In general, we are always a little vulnerable on the break, but I have to say in the first half of this game I couldn't have felt more calm. We were completely dominant and they offered almost no threat at all. They had three good attacks towards the end of the second half, scoring one and missing one (I think Baz saved it). However, "time after time" is a massive exaggeration IMO. Put yourself in a Norwich fans' shoes and you'd be saying like "Saints were all over us, waltzed through our midfield and behind our fullbacks, created so many dangerous attacks, got a lot of dangerous crosses in..." I thought we looked pretty good and were a threat throughout. Disappointed not to win, but we have played much worse than today and won.

I thought we played with 4 at the back the entire game rather than three CBs.
