There is a decent pub a short walk away from the ground. I think its called The Sumners. You can park there too. You could also get there early and check out the football Museum which is right next to the ground.

    Rudi Skacel

he certainly has. Boy did he look like he couldn't give a ****. He clearly hates playing at left back. Either play him left wing or get Mills back.

    Rudi Skacel

    couldn't lace his boots.

    Basaya

I get the feeling that by the time we realised he might be needed the next season he had made his mind up to leave and therefore any efforts to sign him were too late. At around the crucial time for negotiations all eyes were on relegation and Lowe coming back. He may well have been homesick but it would just be our style to have ****ed it up.
  5. how did Bournemouth fair with him at the back? I know they were relegated but they went on a great run last season - was he playing during that run? Was Bennett not available?
  6. glad these youngsters are not being stolen just before they turn pro as Walcott was, but perhaps that's because they are not anywhere near as good? Bets of luck to the guy. Shoud help bring the average age of squad down by a day or two.
  7. but Southampton doesn't have a Kingston Communications of its own to float on the stock exchange.
  8. I've slated James but he played pretty well on Tuesday. Miond you he didn't have a pcey winger making him look silly. Cork had a great game at CB but he has looked equally at home at right back. Cork actually was bullied by Morrison when the keeper punted it forward, we could do with a CB that bullies attackers. I wonder if this fella Pearce will do that. Why we didn't sort this out as soon as Lancashire suspended I will never know.
  9. avoid administration and we have a modicum of control over the sale of Surman and Lallana. Go into administration and watch those two assets sold immediately at rock bottom prices.
  10. I've been playing and watching the game for 25 years, but there are people on here that think I know jack about the game. How long does it take for a novice to pick up the subtle nuances of the game and do you need to have played to see the game in a certain way? Also do players that read the game well haev a better understanding of the game full stop?

    Lallana

not a lot of overpaid players left to lose, but any that are still hanging around and not giving value for money must go before Lallana is sold otherwise the income from his sale will just go on paying their wages.
  12. he certainly did work hard. Why, by his own admittance has he not worked as hard previously though? Was he previously advised to conserve energy perhaps by Stern lazy John?
  13. Euell was excellent last night and showed the difference between a big strong quick pro and the young lads we are trying to bring through. He worked hard, but it was his strong tackling, arial strengthm, his pace across the ground and some decent tone touch passing that stood out. Euell was excellent under Pearson and continued that form last night. Great to have him back in the side. Much more impressive than Stern John has been this season.
  14. Surman looked as though his hamstring had tightened and he hobbled off. People are just desperate to slate JP on here for anything. This though is not a rod to beat him with.
  15. Not sure why everyone gets so worked up about Stern John - he's lazy adn he misses more chances than he takes. Many suggest that it was Stern John's 19 goals that saved us last season. I disagree with that by the way, but McGoldrick has 7 so far and if he continues to play everyweek (like Stern did last season) then he may well get 19 as well.
  16. funny cos McGoldrick credited Lowe with `ten years experience in the game' in his post match interview.

    Rudi Skacel

Agreed. Thanks for reminding me. In another thread I was a midfielder short.

    Rudi Skacel

poor old Skacel. Is the 15k a week not enough to motivate him to do a little bit of fitness training? Boo hoo. Don't make excuses for him. A real pro would train hard and force the manager to change his mind. Yes he has been ****ed about, but after a long wait he has had two chances in the first team recently and if he was spot on with his training he would have been in the right condition to impress. He didn't and quite frankly he has failed miserably to ever get himself in the right shape since he was here.
  19. I saw the photo. It was inconclusive whether the photo was photoshopped of even from a touchline.
  20. I feel more depressed finding out that Lancashire's ban is two games, Gillett is injured and Smith and James both likely to start. Davis Cork Wotton Perry Mills Euell Surman Schneiderlin Skacel BWP Patterson
  21. by hook or by crook you are there. Good on ya. I can't see that any ST holder will not attend purely as a protest. They may decide not to come because they feel a bit ill, have something mroe pressing or have a long journey etc but I can't see anyone just saying I can't be bothered and wasting their ticket.
  22. Why on earth we did not try to sign Wayne Brown on loan from Hull (just gone to Preston for a month) to play at CB and enable Cork to play at right back I will never know. I've been saying for over a month now that he was available. I guess perhaps wages were a problem.
  23. Chez

    Rudi Skacel

no idea why Mills has been dropped, but then again I couldn't ever understand why Schneiderlin was always subbed. For me Mills has looked solid enough and he always gets stuck in, if a little rash at times. JP is clueless IMO.
  24. I was goin to say why on earth did we not let Stern go in the summer if we knew we did not have the funds to afford to play him, but I dare say Lowe expected crowds of around 20k nto 15k and that 5k difference is what is hurting us. Mind you why then did we not play him in the opening games - were we worrid about him getting injured and preventing a transfer? I guess thats the case and then the transfer they hoped would happen didn't. What a mess.
  25. perhaps because McGoldrick is on peanuts and Stern's appearance fee priced him out of the side.
