  1. why did we sign Saga and Stern John when we couldn't afford to pay Rasiak anyway?

Too small for midfield. What a load of Cack. I give you Dennis Wise.

****. Bloody hell for two years now we have had nothing but injuries, loss of form, suspensions totally unsettling our defence. I haev a solution though. In comes Svensson. Yes I know Perry and Killer looked like old men when combined but I fear for us on set peices without some height. Although Lancashire has not been up to it so far I am almost inclined to play him next to Killer. We need more mobility than Perry and Killer.

I'd say he started slowly, improved greatly, had one bad game, was dropped and then has been injured. Time to get him back into the middle as we need some bite in there. I am still waiting for Schneiderlin to make a tackle. He is a complete bottler so we need Gillett to fill that space and allow Schneiderlin to play with freedom.

Interesting idea, but his lack of size would be more of an issue at right back than CM. For years we have lacked height at the back and we have been vulnerable at set peices and now you propose Mills, Perry, Gillet and Cork as our back four. That has to be the smallest back four in the CCC. Besides what's wrong with Pearce? I have to say that Cork has been hit and miss at right back so far. Too much ball watching and playing a high line when the rest of the defence is five yards deeper (allowing players in behind him). He does cover round well and is decent in possession but there is room for improvement thats for sure. I think he needs more time though, at least as much as James got anyway. I too like Mills at left back and would prefer Skacel at left wing, but Mills (and Perry) are small so we need to balance that out with extra height elsewhere in the side. I know big isn't always beautiful, but from corners and set peices you just have to have height. Losing Euell is not going to help us as well. For me Gillett needs to come back into the centre to give the back four a little mroe protection. He is a busy player that can play the Makalele role allowing Schneiderlin a little freedom. I think you will find Skacel adn Lallana will coem inside more than say Gobern or Thompson so they will effectively fill that space that Lalllana filled when playing in the hole. He's my side: Skacel McGoldrick Lallana Surman Gillett Schneiderlin Mills Perry Pearce Cork Davis
  6. he's got 7 and is playing well right now.
  7. so you have paid but you are bit going to games? Sorry but I can't get my head round that one. Do you live hundreds of miles away? Get to games mate, enjoy the struggle then quit next summer. Yes it painful at times but Saturday was a great game and worth every penny.
  8. if we had kept Rasiak, Saganowski and John wouldn't we be bankrupt by now though?
  9. tell us how we go about doing that? That is all I'm interested in when I come to this board.
  10. let me rephrase, we were all over them in the second half.
  11. spot on, and I also fear that even if we won 5 in a row the vast majority would see it as a blip and still not buy a ticket this season. The damage has been done. We're in the ****, we all know it, so whats the point of moaning about it all day long?
  12. Yorkie you sure have got the case of the blues these days. Sadky though what you say will probably come true, but for now allow a little hope into your heart. Not sure if you saw the game on Saturday but we looked decent afetr we got our goal (pretty poor before mind). The side needs a slight tinker, Perry in (Lancashire out), Gobern out (Mills in with Skacel up to left wing perhaps), lose Pekhard, Smith and Robertson and try again with another set of lads on loan - and before you know it there might be soemthing to shout on for the second half of the season. Not all is lost yet and at least they are going to go down fighting for the club and not their wages.
  13. when people ask where has all the money gone this is just the sort of post I need to cut and past my answer. What a waste.
  14. nice post. I enjoyed the game as well. We played some lovely stuff. The way McGoldrick, Surman and Lallana link up is a delight to watch. McGoldrick has come in for some stick on here, but he really appears to have pulled his socks up and is starting to look like a player to me. Don't worry about the trolls.
  15. I went to the game and saw us outplay Wolves for three quarters of the game. You didn't see the game and yet you call me deluded. Deluded about what? What I saw with my own two eyes? I said before the season started that we would go down and I've stuck with that win lose or draw. That doesn't mean I can't say we played well when we did and it doesn't mean I don't hope that we manage to stay up. Why do you need to call supporters of this club happyclappy, uber fans or deluded whenever they say anything positive on here? For your information Saturday was a terrific game, the best I have seen this season and although another defeat was added to the list the vast number of fans staying after the whistle to applaud the players off the pitch showed how well they had done.
  16. Saga and Cureton are very similar indeed. Lita would have been excellent. At the Valley last season he scored the life out of me. Great pace , strength and a real threat. Sadly way out of our price range. Robertson and Pekart combined won't earn in a month what Lita is on in a week.
  17. did you even go to the game? Mancienne played at centre half, it was 2-1 long before Euell was sent off and we were all over them in the second half creating chances.
  18. will you please stop speaking and give your arsehole a rest. We took them apart for the entire second half with only ten men. We created two or three tremendous chances in that period and therefore there was EVERY chance that we would get something from the game. Read McCarthy's comments from after the game and you will see he thought they were lucky to come away with the points. You can see **** all from 1000 miles away. **** all.
  19. I thought he worked hard in the second half, much harder than I have seen for a while, and his little extra touch of class can be seen even from left back. I'm a fan of Mills and love his emphusiam and want to see him get game time, but even I can see that at times we need an old head that fouls at the right time and delays making a tricky pass in favour of keeping in possesion and Skacel does have that nouse. But there is a downside to his game, at times he quite literally walks back into his position and should we lose posession we would be done for. He playing left back and needs to ensure he is helping the centre halfs when there is a counter attack. One incident summed him up for me. On almost every occasion when he went past the half way line he just strolled back into position. However when he took a free kick in the first half that went just over to lots of ooos from the crowd, with the eyes on him he sprinted 40 yards back to the half way line acknowledging the crowd as he did so. He's a show pony. Havign said all that, it was a good display from him on Saturday - but I want even more from him.
  20. Cureton returns to his first club, now that would be nice. Not sure how he would fit in to our 1 up front formation though and to be honest McGoldrick is starting to play well there IMO.
  21. A pre match injury gets him onto the bench at Preston, a couple of decent crosses, one that looked like a shot that lead to a goal and he makes the first eleven. Jan is certainly one for rewarding subs that shine with a start in the next game but invariably the player doesn't carry the form over. At left wing he was totally ineffective. He did nothign at all except lose it and pass backwards. Total waste of space and should have been subbed earlier. I have to say he was terrible at left wing against bristol City but when moved into the middle he showed Carlton Palmer like tendacies like putting an important foot in and covering the ground well. Why he played at left wing again on Saturday I will never know. I know players need to time to settle in but judging him on the three games he is no ready.
  22. Gus Poyet?
  23. they were right. We dominated when down to 10 men.
  24. Dobie's not knocking them in right left and center over there then?
  25. if we continue how we ended today we have every chance.
