  1. I think people underestimate the damage that was done closing the Itchen corner.
  2. Wigley. what a nightmare.
  3. Agreed. People need to look at how relegation affected Bradford, who saddled themseles with horrificly high earners that crippled them when relegated (and didn't return immediately).
  4. Lowe appears to be doing everything he can to replace high earners with nippers on peanuts but suiters for Thomas, Skacel and John have just taken too long to appear. Better John leave than Surman and Lallana forced to be sold. The worse nightmare is if both take place.
  5. I'm asking you if you had the same funds as Lowe would you waste it on Johns wages. I guarentee the answer will still be no and that's why Lowe should not be chastsied for not doing the same. I certainly won't argue that Askham ****ed us.
  6. we've loaned millions from Barclays, the problem is that money has been wasted and now debts must be repaid (or at least stop running up bigger ones).
  7. so your solution is for Lowe and Wilde to give away their hard earned cash to pay Stern John's over inflated wages. If you were in Lowe'sw exact same position can you honestly say you would do that? Let me answr that question for you. Not a chance in hell.
  8. for starters I'd wager he's on a damn sight more than 10k a week. Add at least 5k and you'll be much closer, but the fact is 5000 fans have decided not to turn up so we can't afford to pay him. What we need is your 666 more people to come to games to be able to pay him not 666 existing supporters to keep coming. The overdraft is increasing, what do you suggest we do to stop that?

    Hypocrites

I agree with you about making the wrong choices, why on earth we signed Forecast I will never know, but all of those players wages combined probably add up to Stern Johns wage.
  10. Leeds fans would laugh at someone like you. They turn up in league 1 in their thousands and they have Mr Chelseascum as their chairman. You're just another `Come to see United you only come to see United' saints `fan'.
  11. I've called myself a mug fan on here a number of times, but I don't expect another `Saints supporter' to come on here and call me a mug just because I prefer to get a £15 ticket for every game. `Best fans in the world', laughable when you have people like you criticisng others for actually going to games.

    Stern gone!

OS says "unable to guarentee him a first team place and the WAGES THAT GO WITH IT." A carefull worded release that tells you his contract includes a huge appearance fee. From that I would conclude that Skacel is almost certainly on the same sort deal (as rumoured on here) and the reason why both have not been played unless absolutely neccesary. To be honest I am surprised someone did not take him in the summer. My guess is that Bristol City are not paying all his wages during this loan period (we pay a percentage) or if we are lucky a deal has been struck whereby Bristol are paying a flat rate slightly higher than he got here with no appearance fee. I know he scored goals last season and thats what he does but I wish we had never signed him. Apart from the fact I hate lazy bastard players like him, at the time we had countless other strikers and hsi wages are part of the reason we are in this mess. Having Rasiak AND John was stupid. Rediculous even.
  13. I'd suggest 15k a week, easy, maybe more seeing as our wage bill expanded by 33% when he, Thomas, Euell etc replaced Baird, KJ, Bale, Pele etc, unless of course Bristol City are only paying a percentage of that, which is certainly possibly.
  14. Wotton? Ali Dia has more ability on the ball. If he is toplay it should be as a CB not CM. Oh Stern John has left by the way. Davies Cork Perry Wotton Mills Surman Gillett Schneiderlin Skacel BWP Robertson Christ I feel for Jan. Not only do we have a massive lack of quality throughout the squad, but we also have a massive lack of players to pick from. Why sign Pekhart and then Robertson when we had BWP, John and McGoldrick here already? What we needed was a RM and RB, maybe a CB as well.
  15. he will probably sign for them permently on Jan 1st or if not that loan period ends on that date to ensure we can sell him to someone else as soon as the window opens. Either way he is gone from the managers plans. I have to say the way we have handled Thomas, Skacel and John has been appauling. I see no reason whatsoever why they could not have been integrated into a young total football side. Instead we have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on wages and got nothing in return.
  16. I have argued on here for seasons now that he is decent at this level and has played well. Far too many just pointed to the errors early doors adn weren't able to judge on each individual game rather than their preconceived opinion of him. He has been decent (and improving every year) pretty much since that **** up against QPR by the way. His distribution and shot stopping is first class. He commands his area much better now and his decisions when to come and sweep and when not are top draw. He still doesn't come for many crosses and he lacks a bit of height, but this is the ccc so what do people expect?
  17. bit before my time when first used (1970ish), but a few of the old guys sat in front of me at SMS used to sing: We've got Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Jenkins on the wing, on the wing. We've got Tommy Tommy Tommy Tommy Jenkins on the wing, on the wing. Tommy, Tommy Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins on the wing. Tommy, Tommy Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins on the wing. I've moved seats so don't hear that any more. Pretty much since terraces closed that has seen the end of most original songs from Saints fans. Only Marian me lord, nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn na Gregor Rasiak, do do do jonny viafara coem to mind as ditty's we have out together. Christ it just shows how bad things have got that there isn't a single song for any of our players now.
  18. very good post, Best supporters in the world, meh. We're even getting `fans' on here laughing at and criticising supporters for buying season tickets and going to games.
  19. Skacel? Maybe we could go 4-4-2, which IMO is essential away from home.
  20. when we didn't change the manager (Wigley) quickly enough we went down!
  21. Chez

    Beckham

Paul Smith, Burberry, Ted Baker, Ralf Lauren, what more could she want?
  22. Absolutely. Mills has done pretty well IMO and will only imrpove with games. he lacks a little place and height but he gets stuck in and I haven't noticed him being murdered by wingers. The only time he looks exposed is he faces 2 on 1. Skacel thrived in a forward role at Hearts and with Holmes out I'd of thought he would have walked straight into that position. At left wing he wouldn't need to chase back all day as well so his suspect fitness would not be exposed. JP is worse than Burley at playing people out of position. James at right back, Surman at left back, McGoldrick at right wing and CM, BWP at right or left wing, Dyer at left wing, Mills at left wing he even had Thomson at right back on Saturday. You can add Wotton to that list as his position should clearly be somewhere in league 1.
  23. the trouble is Euell, Killer and Thomas are not available to Jan so its hard to judge. Certainly a squad with those three and Skacel/John will offer more resistance than one without. The likes of Wotton, Ryan Smith, Jake Thompson, Llyod James, Thomas Pakhart and David McGoldrick have shown that they are all short of the required quality needed. Others like Mills, Lancashire, Gillett, Schneiderlin and Lallana can quite clearly cut it. I'd of thought that was enough youth in the side to keep everyone happy and perhaps win a few games!
  24. when you say `towards the end' don't you really mean he looked tired after about 60 minutes? I don't understand why Mills played inthe winger role ahead of Skacel. Very strange decision. Despite my lack of love for Skacel I was glad to see him back in the side. No one is going to tell me that Ryan Smith deserves to play ahead of him.
  25. I agree the "I've a contract, I can't be arsed anymore" is a load of ********, but I disagree that he worked harder than anyone. He worked harder than Stern John, but that's about it. Popular misconception that he was a grafter IMO.
