Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Someone might be able to provide a link otherwise, but a look on google and BN's response is purely about policy and creed. The victims barely get a mention. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
inspectorfrost replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Think I read earlier the guy who disarmed one of the terrorists is a Muslim. Quite a symbolic vision in terms of the very best and the very worst coming together. Doesn't help given the number of Islamic countries we've invaded or got too involved in the politics of in the last few decades proportionately to countries of other religions. It's not a justification for anything like this but a tragic inevitability. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
inspectorfrost replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Which is exactly what the terrorists will inevitably do, as they are what you describe. Netanyahu choosing this precise moment to bring up the issue of the Palestinian state recognition is nothing but deflection. His recent statement is effectively blaming Australia for it. . . -
After the first 10 mins it was just little more than dicking around at the back with it. At one point we nearly literally passed it back into our own net. Scienza seems to be the only player aware of which way we're shooting. Norwich have pressed well but our first instinct is to go backwards

The team I'm watching tonight is playing totally differently to how we played under Still

And so much of the improvement has been basics and common sense. You can see Tonda's looked at the teenager Aluko and just told Fellows to run at him whenever he gets the ball, 30 mins later he's picked up two yellows. It's like the midfielders when receiving the ball have been told to either run or pass forward as quick as possible like Tonda's been waving an air rifle on the training pitch, opening fire at anyone who passes it sideways or backwards. All just wonderfully direct and fast-paced attack. Back 4 look organized and as a big critic of him fair play to Baz for the save at 1-0.

You've clearly supported Saints as long as me lol

I wouldn't start Bazunu in a national league side

And there's one of many reasons why the Police over here made the call they did. Then central government throw them under the bus right from the Prime Minister downwards because they're more interested in dangling their political underwear than the reality on the ground. Then they wonder why they've had a police recruitment problem since the dawn of time.

Suspect this is Netanyahu appeasing the extremists in his government. It'll continue until Donald points out he's got another buyer lined up.

6 goals in 8 games for Trabzonspor. Should never have sold him.

Everytime Scienza gets the ball he's creating gilt edged chances. I wouldn't put the above past Still given recent games

I agree there was always sadly going to be civilan casualties in any military response especially with Gaza for the reasons you describe, but the Israelis are capable of highly targeted/infiltrated attacks to weaken enemies (see the Hezbollah pager incident) When over 80% of the people you are eliminating (according to a quick search) are civilians and aren't the enemy you claim you are targeting it is somewhere between a botched military operation and a genocide. Deliberately bombing IVF clinics, routinely denying civilians basic aid, repeatedly bombing journalists and what I've previously mentioned goes way beyond the former. The reports about "US mercenaries" and the GHF incidents were openly being discussed in our Parliament long before our media started reporting them after the stories leaked out, Maynard's reports are a tiny snapshot into what's been independently witnessed and investigated in depth by the UN. A quick google search reveals that over 100 BBC journalists alone have called out the censorship regarding the coverage of the conflict in general. Regarding a realistic plan doing what you describe, Trump's just produced one. He got the living hostages out in days. Israel have held thousands of Palestinian prisoners without charge/trial for many years so a potential exchange was always an option. As for dismantling Hamas, the Israeli military themselves have openly admitted this is impossible. Hamas will temporarily disarm at absolute best. Trump's plan came around just when I suspect he knew a Russia-style cancelling job was in the works for Israel, and the subsequent regional instability caused by Israel annexing the West Bank/Gaza would cost the US far too much in the long run. They should have sealed the borders, and come up with a plan to surgically pick off the Hamas leadership as part of an international co-operation. Instead it was a genocide dressed up as an armed response, before Trump decided too many people had found out and Israel were working against his interests (the bombing of Qatar was very significant).

It was an insensitive thing to do and didn't help her cause. That said she's 100% correct re: the sensationalist media reporting on it to shift the focus
-
They should have focused on going after Hamas and getting the hostages out. Netanyahu was booed by tens of thousands in Israel yesterday because he didn't do that. What Netanyahu carried out was a genocidal campaign to kill or expel the Palestinians and carve up Gaza/the West Bank to satisfy religious extremists who prop him up to cling to power. As soon as he started talking about the latter Trump put a stop to it, and lo and behold an agreement to release the hostages suddenly appeared. (It helps that Trump is one hell of a negotiator, granted) They should have conducted the military operation against Hamas with an eye on protecting civilians, and met their international obligations with regards to the civilian population. What they did was hire "US merceneries" to shoot starving Palestinians dead at 'aid distribution centres', (according this they murdered more than double the number of Israelis who died in the October terror attacks). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Gaza_Strip_aid_distribution_killings To paraphrase an interview with Dr Nick Maynard about the GHF, "on monday they shot them in their heads, tuesday in their chests, wednesday in their stomachs, thursday in their groins, it's a game to them" That isn't going after Hamas or getting the hostages out. That's amongst the reasons why Netanyahu is wanted by the ICC criminal court (along with Putin and members of the Hamas leadership) Previous Israeli governments would have responded and conducted the (fully justified) military response against Hamas entirely differently
-
It's why I fear what we're currently witnessing is more of a ceasefire than anything else. Pretty standard practice if the Israeli military are withdrawing but the bit in this agreement about Hamas disarming is the bit that remains to be seen. Sadly they'll morph into something else regardless. Meanwhile Witkoff is making a speech in Tel-Aviv. Chants of "thank you Trump" from the Israelis started ringing out, they instantly became deafening boos as soon as Witkoff mentioned Netanyahu. They know the score.

I read the other day that the Nova music festival was something the terrorists completely chanced upon, sadly the festival location was changed not long before it started Ultimately Trump wants his Nobel Peace Prize, the timing is interesting as he seems to have stepped in just as extremists in the Israeli government started calling for the West Bank to be annexed. Suspect Trump threatened to pull the plug in terms of military support.

One factor is the number of Muslim dominated/Middle Eastern countries ourselves and other western countries have invaded or got involved in the politics of historically (compared to countries of other religions). The treatment of the Palestinians has been used as 'justification' for terrorist attacks for many decades (1993 world trade centre bombing being an example). In the current climate there's no way that whilst Netanyahu and the extremists that currently prop him up continue what they are doing, the multi-culturalism of UK society these days means there is absolutely no way that no one will react to it, whether that's through peaceful protest or twisted ideology/terrorist acts. Netanyahu will defeat Hamas, the problem is the genocide against the Palestinians is meat and drink to extremist Islamic terror cells to make the problem far bigger than Hamas. It's exactly created Hamas in the 1980s in the first place. I'd agree there is a fundamental problem with extremist Islam in this country and many other places, however the factors that breed it aren't just within Islam itself. Most Muslims want to live peaceful lives just like you and me.
-
Largely agree with that Think of the police manpower recently spent on arresting people spraying paint on military equipment and pensioners holding placards up under anti-terror legislation. Then extremist murderers like this are allowed to slip through the net. Sums up why (in part) I got out the force when I did.
