Oh if anyone wants further evidence of the plastic nature of Reading's fans, yesterday's attendance was announced as 24,108. As the capacity is 24,161, this suggests to anyone who has not watched the game that there were just 53 teeny weeny empty seats, tucked away in distant corners of the stadium. Total ****e. Serious numbers of "supporters" had purchased tickets / season tickets but did not show up for this must win game with the new boss. Lets see how many empty seats there are for Liverpool next week. -

Rubbish highlights yes but afterwards firmly put the "goalkeeping foul" nonsense to bed and highlighted Gaston's brilliant pass to Jay Rod. -

You got 2 out of 3 spot on. Need to improve your finishing to be an all round great though -
Does the Reading game bring closure to the Adkins era?

Couple of brilliant passes today and lots of good link up play. Gave the ball away and missed a good chance. But would still have him in the team. Need more consistency and I hope we get more next season from him

Great win. Just back home now. First 30 mins we were under pressure but hey, new manager, must win game and all that, so perhaps expected. Rode our luck from failing to clear set plays a few times but goal settled things down brilliantly. Jay Rod was MOTM and the link up with Lambert and Gaston (and later Adam) was excellent. Jay very unlucky to hit the bar, from another super pass by Gaston, just after we scored. Controlled the game 2nd half, just too easy at times and we should have had more. I was in the half of the South Stand for home fans. Had no trouble blending in, as from the kick off it was hard to know if many of those around me were actually awake. No atmosphere from 90% of the "Reading faithful" even when they were on top at the start. Apart from being a very handy away game for me, they will not be missed. -
Will NA get a good response from Saints fans on Saturday

Right up there with "is the Pope Catholic?" -
Got to say well done on the realism. There are some empty seats among the passionate die hards
-
Wow. The long term plan is to recruit Messi, Ronaldo, van Persie and Shaw then, to really attract the remaining plastics who dont yet turn up to see whoever they are playing now

Nicola Cortese - Is he worth £1.576m per annum?

When did we sing his name exactly? -
Adkins or Pochetinno; if we could choose today

Been done to death i agree -
Who does he report to? Needs a kicking

We underperformed at their place last season, though getting a draw in the circumstances felt very good. We have progressed substantially since then, they have not. There is the risk of the "new manager first game at home" impact, but its heavily diluted by their near-certain relegation. You get the sense with two days to go that the supporters, at least, have properly given up. Frankly, they had empty seats 4 weeks ago at the "must win" game against Villa We need to start at our normal pace and go for the throat. Cut out silly errors and we should be ok

Reading ticket desperation
Bucks Saint replied to forever a red and white's topic in Saints Away Supporters
Chunks of the "home" area in the South Stand will have more away fans in them than non plastic Reading fans -
Report to the SWF punishment committee immediately for sentencing, to avoid ever repeating this shocking basic error

What are you offering if we dont?

From their hob nob knob muppet thread: "Saints fans mocking us for having 40 odd tickets left to sell. Those seats are £42 and £47 for adults, which is ludicrous at best for this fixture. We've also averaged 97% for home attendance this season, which is better than Southampton" Yeah, well done all the plastics, 97% of 22k is wonderful. BTW on the viagogo site alone there are 130 tickets left, starting at £35

From relegation? Not yet. 34 not enough From threat / harm? Can never be too careful

VIDEO: Gary Neville's analysis of Southampton vs Chelsea
Bucks Saint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Sky have a lot more time to fill / analyse dont forget. MoTD is a different format program trying to pack in all the games, post match interviews and analysis to keep a mixed-bag audience happy. I agree that Neville would be better on MoTD than Hansen and Shearer but even he would only get 60 or 90 seconds per match -
Skacel with goal line clearance too. Was one of those games. Prior to the match they had not lost at home for ages and we were awful.
-
He clearly wants to develop himself in the mighty EPL. No issue there but he should look to include his fan relationship abilities if he wants to be the all-round top manager to eventually rival The Special One
-
Fair point. Not sure if "Mauricio, Mauricio give us an intense stare" will really catch on but for those keen enough, they could try
-
Dont think anyone has yet sung Mauricio, Mauricio give us a wave. He is doing the decent thing and waiting to see if we want him to.
