Vergard Forren; do the club need to explain to the fans
Bucks Saint replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
Maybe, just maybe, the extra CB signing has helped to improve / motivate Jos further, i.e. he was in danger of becoming 4th choice and thus hardly making the squad, never mind the pitch. Ok as its turned out this was a threat more for next season, but hey, what do we care if having 4 potential first team CBs has helped raise the standard overall? -
We would still be in a relegation scrap if ........

Boruc was in, Cork was in, Shaw was in. No new players in Jan (Forren does not even make the bench). Yep Jay Rod massive improvement. Punch has gone downhill a bit. It is far from clear what would have happened -
Much better finish from Saints. Rode the storm , should be 1 up. Bring on the 2nd half

Wow. I had my money on you saying 44. Going soft

Great news, great decision. If he gets close to Niemi's experience here we will be in clover

I was 7 but remember it very very clearly. Still extremely proud of leaping about when we beat Man Utd. Would never replace it, end of. Got into Europe 2003/4, damp squib in the end

Excellent! I was just thinking we need a new thread about the chairman

Jos Hooiveld: "I was the fall guy" - (INTERVIEW)

Agreed. Defence improved a lot under Adkins with this combo. Not seen any reason to change that personally -

So glad we have another new thread on this ffs -
Kenny Jackett is quoted in the evening standard tonight as saying he will try to buy him in the summer

Different slant, but the last time around in the Prem, i am sure we went for some years when we failed to win away from home, having gone behind. Right up there with the 8/9 years we went without winning the first game of the season, until the brilliance of Coventry away in Aug 1999

Le Fondre - No Goal & J Rod Should Have Been Sent Off
Bucks Saint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
We? Reading have plastic fans in Cambridge? Utter tosh. As spelt out on here, on the website article comments, by the MOTD commentator, by Alan Shearer and by Mark Lawrenson, this was never a foul. His foot was never above knee height, he got the ball well before any connection with the stuttering keeper, only caught his legs and then Federici was caught by his own defender. Surprised that you managed to miss all that. If he had done a Boruc (i.e. make a decent attempt to get to the ball first) he might have been injured, so that makes it a dangerous tackle? Wow. If Jay Rod had thrown himself into a diving header, he might have been hurt, so the keeper should have been sent off, right? -

Patrick Barclay in the Standard tonight - calling for a panel of former refs to consider controversial decisions after each weekend: "Today, for example, they could look at Southampton's first goal at Reading. Allowing it, after Jay Rodriguez had stabbed his studs almost into Adam Federici's face, was an insult to the goalkeeper" WTF?! This guy, who normally writes fairly sensible stuff, does not even have the defence of being part of the Reading team while coming out with this utter sh1te. Never , ever, write about football again pal -

Agreed, dont know which player it was, but Boruc was brave and focused, got there first, then got a kick in the head for his trouble, and still held onto the ball. -

Why just sent off? 25 game ban and community service surely? Nothing to do with your glaring miss Adam. Let me know when you get back from la la land -
I cant find the equivalent thread on our forum for Jonno Quick

I was in the home section of the south stand, towards the corner. There were about 8 saints fans in a corporate section nearby who openly and passionately celebrated both our goals, and no one seemed to be bothered, notwithstanding there were non-corporate fans all around them (though as i posted before, it was hard to tell if most of the home fans near me were even awake) Fair play to them too! -
